My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 276: You’ve Worked Hard These Past Few Years...
Summer Shawcross paused for a moment. By the time she understood, Sean Shawcross had already pulled her to walk in the other direction. It was then that Summer realized there was a hidden exit in the mall, which led to the back door of the shopping center.
Summer followed Sean outside and saw a black car parked at the door.
Sean opened the car door, let Summer sit in the passenger seat, and then got into the driver’s seat, driving away.
"Brother, how did you know I was in the mall?" Summer turned to look at Sean, couldn’t help but ask.
"I followed you all the way, so of course, I know." Sean smiled and said frankly.
"Then why didn’t you just come to find me?" Upon hearing this, Summer was a bit surprised.
"It was a bit inconvenient," Sean said gently while driving.
Listening to him, Summer smiled and explained.
"Why, is it because of those bodyguards? Don’t worry, they’re all Noah Drexler’s people."
After she finished speaking, Sean’s expression paused, and then he said with a bitter smile.
"Precisely because they’re his people, that’s why it’s inconvenient."
Hearing his words, Summer’s face showed shock and confusion.
"He’s investigating me." Sean’s expression suddenly became serious.
Her brother’s words made Summer’s expression change. Moments later, she smiled and explained.
"How can that be? He’s probably afraid I’m worried about you, so he had someone check your whereabouts..."
After her words, the car suddenly stopped by the roadside.
Summer turned her head in confusion, only to see Sean’s stern face.
"Brother, what’s wrong..." Her heart tightened.
Sean was silent for a while before he finally turned to her, asking unexpectedly.
"Summer, when did you start trusting him so much?"
After just a few months, the little girl who hated Noah Drexler to the core suddenly changed her attitude towards him.
Sean’s words made Summer pause, and then she couldn’t help but smile.
"Brother, we are married; isn’t mutual trust what we should have?"
For some reason, she felt her brother had changed a little since he came back... though he’s as gentle as always, beneath that gentle face seemed to hide many concerns.
She thought, maybe it’s because she hasn’t talked with her brother like this for a long time.
After her words, Sean’s expression changed, showing more heartache.
"These years have been tough for you..." Saying this, Sean’s expression became apologetic.
It’s all his incompetence as a brother that caused her so much suffering, having to play the role of a gentle, virtuous wife at Noah Drexler’s side.
Sean’s words suddenly reminded Summer of when she agreed to marry Noah Drexler to pay off debts; her brother was actually strongly opposed to it.
The brother who never touched alcohol was drunk, and kept blaming himself, saying it was all his incompetence that he couldn’t even protect his own sister...
Thinking of this, Summer suddenly felt a bit sad.
She hurriedly explained to Sean.
"Brother... what are you talking about? I’m truly very well now, and I’m very happy."
After her words, Sean gave another bitter smile.
"You’ve always loved freedom, couldn’t stand being watched; how could you be happy staying by his side..."
