"You... what are you doing?" She stared wide-eyed, full of disbelief, her red lips moved but couldn’t make a sound. When he took steps to leave, she finally made a sound that didn’t quite seem to belong to her.
"Going home." Lu Jingang glanced at her, a calm and indifferent smile on his lips.

"Get the umbrella." Upon reaching the door, Lu Jingang gestured towards the black umbrella by the door.
She turned her head to look at the umbrella he indicated, placed the clothes on her arm into her embrace, and reached out for the umbrella. But he remained upright, not making the slightest effort to bend down, holding her steadily at the door.
She tried twice but couldn’t reach the umbrella. Finally, she took a deep breath, looked at him patiently: "Can’t you show some awareness? Can’t you see I can’t reach it? Don’t you know to squat a bit?"
Lu Jingang pressed his lips together but said nothing, just slightly tilted her to the left, enabling her to successfully grasp the umbrella, then stepped through the automatic double doors.
The rain outside was still heavy. Once She opened the umbrella, her body straightened, which immediately closed the distance between them. Since she held her handbag in the other hand, balancing the umbrella single-handedly put some strain on her wrist, inadvertently making her search for some support.

Halfway through, she seemed to slip downwards a bit, but Lu Jingang didn’t feel his arms growing tired. When he glanced at the area her umbrella covered, he noticed most of it was over him, while her legs and the hand holding the umbrella were in the rain, yet she didn’t complain.
His lips pressed into a thin line, he adjusted his hold to secure her better, quickening his pace accordingly.
