"Quick, invite her in," came Su Wantang’s pleasant and gentle voice from inside, amplified by the intercom.

After being invited in by the servant, Ye Lingran was warmly greeted at the villa’s compound door by Su Wantang, who smiled kindly, held her hand, and exchanged pleasantries in a very close and affectionate manner.

Upon reaching the living room, Ye Lingran did not spot Yun Qi’s figure inside. That morning, when Su Wantang called her, she clearly mentioned Yun Qi would be there, but Ye Lingran didn’t feel comfortable asking outright, nor could she show it too obviously. After the servant brought up some fruits and red tea, Ye Lingran stayed in the living room accompanying Su Wantang in conversation and laughter.
