Chapter 52 - 52: Saving Lei Gang's Father

The parents looked on in amazement as a wooden figure grew out from Su Xiuyu's shoulder, slowly shaping into a perfect replica of him.

Thankfully, their parents weren't extraordinary people themselves—just ordinary folks. So while the sight was bizarre, they weren't totally freaked out. They'd already accepted that people with strange powers existed. One more weird ability? Sure, why not?

If the Special Service had been around, though? They'd probably be crying in a bathroom stall. Seriously? This is how superpowers awaken now?

"Dad, Mom," the wooden clone greeted them.

"Oh my god, son—your clone can talk?"

"Yes," Su Xiuyu nodded. "He's my clone, but there's no difference between us. He can think, talk, and remember everything just like me. If you asked him about my childhood, he'd answer exactly the same way I would. You can think of him as another me."

The parents were stunned. They couldn't tell how strong the clone was, but the idea of something copying their son's entire being—memories, thoughts, everything—was mind-blowing.

"Mom, Dad, don't doubt him," the wooden clone added. "If something happens to my real body, I am Su Xiuyu. We share everything. You're still my parents."

Then Su Xiuyu stepped forward again. "Now watch this—Earth Bending: Earth Clone."

With a gesture, a second clone formed—this one made of hardened earth.

"This one's mainly for protecting the house," he explained. "The wood clone will stay by your side. The earth clone's defense is insane. If anything dangerous happens, let him handle it."

His parents were fascinated, especially seeing two different types of clones side by side.

"Mito," Su Xiuyu called, "use your Yin Seal to store some extra chakra in both clones."

That was the double insurance plan. If something went sideways, the chakra stored in the clones, combined with Mito's Yin Seal, could handle most situations—unless, of course, Super Saiyans invaded Earth. If that ever happened? Not even his real body would help much.

Mito nodded and applied Yin Seals to both clones, calmly focusing her chakra.

She'd learned the Yin Seal long ago to stay youthful—not that the Uzumaki Clan had much need for chakra storage. But after eating the Chakra Fruit Su Xiuyu had gifted her, her control had leveled up. She could now apply Yin Seals to external objects.

Longevity? Not a concern anymore.

It was around then that the parents realized—oh yeah, their son's girlfriend Mito was also a superpowered beauty. No wonder she looked so flawless.

"Mom, Dad," Su Xiuyu added, "you can trust these two clones completely. Treat them like they're me. If anything happens, listen to them first."

"Alright, alright—we get it," his dad said with a chuckle.

That night, the family felt closer than ever. For Chisato, it was something special. She'd lost her mother young, and her father, Uchiha Tajima, was as cold as ice. One by one, her brothers died in war.

But with Su Xiuyu, she finally felt what a real family was like.

Brother Xiuyu... you really are the most special person in my heart.

On the fourth day, the Special Service couldn't hold back anymore.

A knock came at the door.

"Captain Su, it's me—Lei Gang. Long time no see." Lei Gang stood at the entrance, looking a bit bulkier than before, though his face was drawn with stress.

Su Xiuyu frowned slightly. "It has been a while. Something's bothering you. Spill it—I can tell something's wrong."

Lei Gang was never the type to hide things.

"I didn't want to disturb your time with your family, Captain, but... my father was seriously injured a few days ago. The hospital gave us a critical condition notice today. I didn't know what else to do. I heard you were back... and thought maybe, just maybe, you could help. I'm sorry!"

His voice cracked, and tears began to stream down his face. For a man like Lei Gang—built tough, calm under pressure—it spoke volumes.

Su Xiuyu didn't hesitate. "No time to waste. Let's go."

He grabbed Mito and Chisato, piled into the car with Lei Gang, and rushed to the hospital.

They arrived fast. Inside the ICU, Lei Gang's father lay wrapped in bandages, unconscious. Lei Gang's mother and other relatives were there too, pale with worry.

"Mom, step aside," Lei Gang said, voice trembling. "Captain Su's here. If anyone can help, it's him."

His mother had cried so much she barely had the strength to respond.

"Let me handle this," Mito said, stepping forward. "I've got more experience with medical chakra than Xiuyu."

Su Xiuyu didn't argue.

Mito approached and placed her hands lightly on Lei Gang's father. Her chakra pulsed gently as she probed his condition. The internal injuries were bad—really bad. The organs had been stitched up, but the damage was severe.

Still, nothing she couldn't fix.

"Everyone, out," she said firmly. "Lei Gang, you stay. I need to start treatment."

He nodded and ushered the family out of the room, then stood quietly by her side.

Soft green light glowed from Mito's palms as she activated the Healing Palm Technique. Lei Gang watched in awe—he didn't know what "ninjutsu" was, but to him, it was a miraculous superpower.

Ten minutes later, it was done.

Mito stood up. "His organs are healed. He'll need time to recover, of course. He's not a ninja—he can't bounce back instantly. But the worst is over."

"He'll wake up by tomorrow," she added.

To Mito, this was nothing. But to Lei Gang? It was everything.

"Thank you... thank you, Captain Su..." he sobbed, tears of joy flowing freely now. "Thank you!"

Su Xiuyu clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Calm down, man. It's okay."

In the hallway, the doctors re-confirmed it: Lei Gang's father was stable. Out of danger. His mother finally stopped crying, though her eyes were still red.

"Thank you, Captain Su," she said quietly.

"Alright, alright," Su Xiuyu waved it off. "No need to keep saying thank you."

"We were classmates, weren't we?" he added. "Don't be so formal."

"It may have been simple for you," Lei Gang replied, his voice thick with emotion, "but for me... this was everything."

-------

"Wipe your tears already. There's nothing funny here, and you're not a kid anymore. Now that your father's safe, you can stop crying."

Lei Gang gradually calmed down, wiping his face roughly.

"Thank you, Captain. If it weren't for you... my dad probably wouldn't have made it."

Su Xiuyu nodded. "Alright, tell me what happened. As the head of the Special Service Bureau, your father shouldn't be so easily hurt—especially not this badly. He's not even a front-line combatant. This kind of injury doesn't make sense."

That was what Su Xiuyu couldn't understand the most. The director of the Special Service Bureau wasn't the type to be caught off guard. Something about this whole thing felt off.

"It's complicated," Lei Gang admitted. "Things have gotten worse the past couple of years. Some twisted bastards even started forming cults, spreading lies and manipulating the public. One of them tried to run my dad over with a car while he was heading home. That's how this happened."

Su Xiuyu raised a brow, then gestured toward the people beside him.

"Captain, who are these two?"

"This is my fiancée, Uzumaki Mito. And this is my sister, Chisato."

Lei Gang blinked in surprise. It was his first time meeting them, and the names piqued his curiosity.

"Those names sound like they're from Japan"

"Fiancée?!" Lei Gang blurted. "Captain, you already got engaged? Isn't that kind of fast? You're not even of legal age to marry, are you? And your sister-in-law... she looks younger than you. Is this even allowed?"

Su Xiuyu stared at him like he wanted to smack the guy. Dude, I just saved your dad's life, and now you're grilling me about marriage laws? And about Mito's age?

Are you asking to get decked?

Uzumaki Mito giggled and covered her mouth. "It's alright, Lei Gang. I don't mind Xiu Yu's age. I'm a foreigner, and where I'm from, we can marry earlier than here."

Only Chisato looked slightly annoyed at being labeled as Su Xiuyu's "sister."

Lei Gang noticed Su Xiuyu's death glare and finally realized he might've gone too far.

"Ahem... So, how are things going with the parasite? You've had time to adjust, right?"

"Yeah. It's fully merged with me now," Lei Gang said, raising his arm. "Its consciousness is still intact, but we're more like... roommates. We share everything, talk all the time."

Su Xiuyu nodded. Lei Gang had always been straightforward, and it looked like the parasite liked that about him. Their fusion had gone smoother than expected, with Lei Gang maintaining dominant control. Over the last two years, his strength and intelligence had grown rapidly.

Some of that progress came from hard work. The rest? A pretty solid cheat code courtesy of the parasite.

"Looks like you've been leveling up too while I was gone."

"I tried."

"Well, since I'm back, let's get everyone together. We're gonna wipe out those cult bastards."

Lei Gang's eyes lit up. "You know where they're hiding?"

"I have my ways," Su Xiuyu said, his voice cool and confident.

The special forces unit assembled quickly. There were some new faces, but plenty of veterans too.

"Long time no see, Captain Su!"

"So this is where you've been all this time—off finding a girlfriend, huh?"

Everyone grinned and gave Uzumaki Mito curious looks. Lei Gang had introduced her as Su Xiuyu's fiancée, but no one expected the stoic Captain Su to settle down so quickly.

"Wait... is that your kid?" someone joked.

Li Yunrui pointed at Chisato, trying to start something. The group burst out laughing.

Su Xiuyu deadpanned. "Li Yunrui, quit playing. Chisato may look small, but it'll only take her a few minutes to kick your ass. You don't want that kind of lesson, trust me."

The joke died instantly. Li Yunrui swallowed hard, realizing he'd messed up.

"My bad, little lady," he said quickly to Chisato, backing off.

She didn't seem bothered, though. She could tell these were Su Xiuyu's people.

"Alright, let's move out. Mito, you're on sensing duty."

"Got it. I'm picking up a lot of hostility from the eastern storage district."

Uzumaki Mito's perception had become terrifying—basically a living radar on the battlefield. Her range far outclassed even the famed Byakugan. Honestly, the Hyuga Clan's bloodline wasn't all it was cracked up to be anymore—at least not compared to their moon relatives.

"East Suburbs it is," Su Xiuyu confirmed.

They arrived quickly at the largest storage area in the East Suburbs. The place was packed with warehouses rented out to different companies. Big spaces, cheap rent—perfect for anyone who didn't want to be found.

"According to the topographic map from the warehouse manager, the target location should be in zones 50 to 60, west section," Su Xiuyu said.

As the team moved in, their sheer numbers started to draw attention.

"Li Yunrui, use the loudspeaker. Let's give them a chance to surrender."

Li Yunrui stepped up and activated the megaphone.

"This is the Yangcheng Special Service Team! Surrender now and you'll be treated leniently! Keep resisting and we won't be responsible for what happens to you!"

The warehouse stayed silent.

Clearly, these cultists weren't the surrendering type. Considering the crimes they'd committed, they probably saw no way out.

"Alright. Time to hit them hard. Chisato, you're up."

"With pleasure, Brother Xiu Yu. I'll go first. Special team, follow my lead!"

Chisato charged into the warehouse like a blur. Gunfire erupted immediately—three or four shooters unloading at once.

The bullets came fast and hot, but Chisato spun her kunai like a shield, deflecting every shot.

"Damn," Li Yunrui muttered. "Good thing the captain warned me... That girl would've wrecked me."

"When has the captain ever joked about combat strength?" Lei Gang slapped him on the shoulder.

Over the past two years, Lei Gang had risen up fast, becoming one of the real leaders of the unit. There was no formal title, but everyone respected him. His strength spoke for itself. When Li Yunrui started acting up again, Lei Gang didn't hesitate to shut it down.
