Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 806: Candy-Like Little Pups
Audrey Sutton threw the tissue she just used to wipe Anna’s drool at Norman Sutton: "Norman, you shameless!"
Norman dodged the tissue and said with a cheeky smile, "But you started it first, don’t be unreasonable! It seems there are photos of you looking like a little mudman. So funny, hahaha!"
Audrey picked up the tissue and chased after him again, but still didn’t hit him. Norman ran away, teasing boastfully, "Hey! You missed."
Standing next to Lana Holloway, Barry Barrett frowned at Norman, saying, "This guy really deserves a beating."
Lana Holloway nodded in agreement, "Yeah."
Audrey, unable to catch Norman, turned around to complain to Shane, "He’s bullying your wife, and you don’t even care!"
Shane said calmly, "What hundred-day photo? I haven’t seen it."
Before Audrey could get angry, she heard a scream behind her. Turning around, she saw Norman, who was boasting a moment ago, fall flat on his face.
Barry Barrett, who tripped Norman, and Lana Holloway were covering their mouths, snickering. Audrey, too, couldn’t stay mad and immediately put her hands on her hips, laughing, "Serves you right!"
Norman: "You’re ganging up on me!"
Barry blinked his innocent big eyes and quickly ran over to help Norman, saying, "Oh, I really didn’t mean to. You suddenly ran over, and I didn’t notice. How did I trip you?"
"Hmph, none of you can eat these crabs!"
Barry: "At least a third of them are mine!"
Norman walked away with the bucket without turning back. Of course, everyone knew he was just being childish, and they didn’t join in his antics.
The children started waking up one after another. Audrey took the picnic mat from the car, threw some toys on it, letting the kids play on the mat so that Anna wouldn’t crawl and get all muddy.
After the morning crankiness wore off, Anna was the most lively and active among the children.
Summer was always very quiet; she played with whatever she was given and never fought over toys with the other kids.
Clary was a clingy boy. When Laura Yates went somewhere, he’d follow her. At home, it was a bit better, and in a familiar environment, he could play by himself for a while.
But as soon as they went out, he needed one of his parents by his side, and if he couldn’t find them, he’d become fussy.
Flora Lane’s daughter also took after her father. Currently, she seems like a quiet girl, but it’s unknown if she’ll be influenced by Flora Lane when she grows up.
The children played by themselves, with two servants nearby helping to watch them. Meanwhile, Audrey and the others gathered around the barbecue grill to start cooking some food in advance.
Phoebe King had been strictly managed by Stephen Sutton at home, so it had been a long time since she had barbequed.
Stephen Sutton wasn’t around this time, but she still had to be mindful of the little one in her belly.
Audrey knew how much Phoebe King craved food, so when she grilled chicken wings for her, she didn’t add too much seasoning. Naturally, the taste wasn’t that great, but Phoebe was content. In her own words: "Even with just a few grains of salt, grilled wings are delicious."
Faye Xavier and Morgan Quinn, who had been absent all day, somehow found a few young ladies and warmly invited them to join in the barbecue.
Faye Xavier invited the ladies to sit at an empty table and then walked over to Audrey. "Sis-in-law, let me grill. You shouldn’t be in this oil smoke."
Audrey handed the tools to Faye Xavier, glancing at the women sitting not far away, each with their own style and charm.
It’s not that she was shy or unwelcome towards new friends. It’s just that she recalled a dream she had during her nap, and upon seeing unfamiliar young women approach, she couldn’t help but become suspicious.
"Brother Xavier, who are they?"
Faye chuckled and said while flipping food on the grill, "Just met these ladies over there. They’re also on a road trip and said there are only a few girls, worried about safety on the road, so they’ll be joining us on our journey."
Hearing that these women would be accompanying them, Audrey felt secretly annoyed, looking at the diverse shapes and sizes, she wondered if her dream was really coming true.
Audrey couldn’t help but continue to inquire, "What kind of work do they do?"
Faye: "They said they work at the same company and got tired of the nine-to-five lifestyle, so they quit and planned this road trip together."
But looking at these women, Audrey felt they didn’t seem like typical nine-to-five workers. It wasn’t clear why; they just had an alluring vibe.
"Sis-in-law, the food’s ready over here. You can take it to eat now."
Audrey took the plate handed by Faye and, as she left, thought it might not be the girls’ issue but rather Faye Xavier and Morgan Quinn’s.
Her subconscious felt that anyone who accepted their flirting wasn’t necessarily decent.
As soon as Audrey sat at the table, Flora Lane pulled her aside to ask, "Who are those women?"
Audrey felt like she’d found a confidant: "You feel something’s off too, right?"
Flora Lane laughed, but looked at Morgan Quinn with disdain, pouring wine for the ladies and said, "I just hate that he uses my husband’s face to hit on girls everywhere!"
Barry Barrett sighed, "Hey, Sutton, how does your husband have such subordinates? Have you investigated thoroughly? Is this a case of poor example from above..."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Audrey quickly interrupted Barry, "My husband is quite decent. It’s their own problem; they just need discipline. Last time Jasmine Lucas didn’t deal with them thoroughly enough!"
Flora Lane nodded in agreement, "Exactly, it’s their problem. You see, my husband is also decent, but his brother is crooked."
Lana Holloway secretly glanced at Norman Sutton in the distance; he was squatting by the bucket, staring at his crabs.
In comparison, Norman Sutton, though arrogant, wasn’t the frivolous playboy.
He wasn’t much better, though.
Audrey looked around and asked, "Hey, where’s Brother Seraphina?"
Flora Lane pointed with her chin to a small table set up beside a tent not far away, surrounded by people playing cards.
The most noticeable was Seraphina Vaughn because she was the only woman among them.
Audrey was stunned for a couple of seconds and couldn’t help but ask, "Is Brother Seraphina thinking about dating recently? She seems to be hanging out with young people a lot lately."
Barry Barrett agreed and nodded, "I think so too! A few days ago, I saw her posting a drama scene in her social media, with really artsy lines, not at all like her usual self."
Flora Lane: "Right, right! I saw it too! Wasn’t it from that sister-brother idol drama? I’ve always felt she probably likes those sweet little puppy love boys."
