Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 712: The Girl Comes to Me Voluntarily
Lana Holloway pursed her lips in disdain, "Then there’s nothing worth going to, go back and get busy with your own stuff."
Norman Sutton heard she wanted to flirt with the little guys, so naturally, he didn’t insist on her going with him. He just asked, "Then don’t wander around alone this afternoon."
Lana Holloway: "I’m going back to catch up on sleep."
Norman Sutton nodded, standing silently in front of Lana, without leaving.
Lana hesitated and asked him, "Anything else?"
Norman thought about it, pulled out a game ticket from his pocket, and handed it to Lana, saying, "Seven o’clock tonight, Leewood University, come if you want to."
After saying that, Norman tucked the ticket into the hood of Lana’s coat and quickly turned around, walking away briskly.
The ticket got blown to the ground by the wind. Lana bent down to pick it up, looked at the ticket, and then at Norman’s departing figure, pondering as she walked into the hotel.
This person is truly contradictory.
Lana returned to her room, soaked her feet in hot water to warm her frozen toes, then snuggled into the quilt and fell comfortably asleep.
Outside the window, a vast expanse of white, snowflakes were swirling down.
The giant Christmas tree in the center of the square was already decorated. It wasn’t yet the holiday, but it had already attracted many photo-takers.
The sky was gloomy all day, and Lana slept until past five in the afternoon.
She even dreamt of Norman Sutton, just couldn’t remember what the dream was about upon waking.
She vaguely remembered a phone ringing in the dream. When she woke up, her phone on the bedhead was indeed ringing.
Picking it up, sure enough, it was Norman asking her, "Awake? Come out to eat."
Lana yawned, rubbed her eyes, and said, "I’ll just eat at the hotel."
Norman Sutton, "We’re now at the restaurant across from your hotel, come down."
Lana looked at the snow outside the window, really didn’t want to leave her warm little bed.
"Hurry up, I’m waiting at the door for you."
Lana didn’t even get a chance to respond before Norman hung up the phone.
Watching her phone’s screen go off automatically, Lana got out of bed right away, walked to the window, and sure enough, spotted Norman standing at the restaurant entrance across the street.
He always narcissistically claimed he was handsome, and it wasn’t an exaggeration. Even though he was just in esports, his fangirls outnumbered those of some current popular young celebrities.
During school, Lana often heard her friends talking about Norman Sutton.
Actually, before she came into contact with Norman, she also thought he was a very brilliant young man and admired him a bit for his achievements at a young age.
But after getting to know him, his unreasonable and arrogant young master behavior quickly shattered the little admiration she had.
Watching Norman stand at the door, restlessly looking around without any patience, he pulled out his phone again, and a few seconds later, Lana’s phone rang once more.
Lana turned back to the bedside, and as soon as she answered, Norman’s voice came through, "Hurry up, it’s freezing."
"...Coming."
"Always dawdling, not even eager to eat." He muttered and hung up the phone again.
Lana didn’t stall any longer, quickly tied up her hair, put on her clothes, and hurried out the door.
She stepped out of the hotel, waited on her side of the road for the green light, while Norman stood on the opposite side watching her. Though he didn’t say anything, his displeased gaze was silently scolding her.
As soon as the green light came on, Lana jogged across the zebra crossing. Norman naturally put his arm around her shoulder, like good buddies, leading her towards the restaurant, "Did you sleep until now?"
Lana: "If you hadn’t called, I wouldn’t have woken up."
Norman Sutton, "So you’re saying I disturbed your sleep. It seems you’re not too upset about the breakup, still sleeping like a pig."
"Yo! The great Norman, always charming the ladies wherever you go?" A guy in the same team-logo down jacket as Norman walked in and greeted him.
Norman turned to look at the guy, raised his hand and smacked his head, "Don’t talk nonsense, making it sound like I’m flirting everywhere."
The guy chuckled, "With your charm, Norman, you don’t need to flirt. The girls come to you on their own."
Norman Sutton, "Get lost!"
The guy laughed and ran upstairs, and Norman led Lana, leisurely walking up the stairs.
The restaurant was heated, the inside and outside were worlds apart.
As Norman climbed the stairs, he took off his down jacket and handed it to Lana.
Lana was momentarily dazed, feeling like she was summoned not for dinner, but to be a maid?
Lana initially wanted to throw the coat back to him, but then saw another guy approaching, smiling as he greeted Norman, "The great Norman, we’ve been waiting for you, hurry up, coach is urging."
Norman walked alongside the other guy, and Lana, seeing another person there, didn’t want to cause a scene tugging and pulling clothes with Norman, so she silently folded the coat and carried it on her arm.
Arriving at the reserved room’s door, Norman finally looked back at Lana, saw her obediently following, paused slightly, and when she caught up, said, "No need to be too reserved, several are our classmates, just stick by me."
Lana didn’t expect there to be so many people, but seeing quite a few girls inside too, made her a bit less awkward.
With the crowd, Lana stayed quiet and didn’t attract much attention, following Norman and sitting beside his chosen spot.
Norman turned his head, looking at the rare compliant Lana, a satisfied smile on his face.
In such a room full of strangers, she would slightly depend on him.
Originally, Norman hadn’t thought of this, he simply felt worried about her being alone and just wanted to invite her to have some fun together.
The table was long, everyone sat across from each other. With individual servings in the western style, Lana quietly ate what’s on her plate.
She suddenly noticed a hand reaching over, using a fork to snag the last small pastry from her dessert plate onto Norman’s plate.
She followed the motion, seeing the small pastry on Norman’s table.
Receiving Lana’s gaze, Norman, chewing, said, "What? I saw you not eating it, don’t waste it."
Lana whispered, "I was saving it for last!"
Hearing her, Norman reached over and dragged his neighboring buddy’s dessert plate in front of Lana, "Here you go."
The guy glanced at Norman, then at Lana, quietly asked Norman, "Great Norman, this girl isn’t part of our team staff, is she? She looks unfamiliar."
Norman lifted his wine glass, swirling it, said to the guy, "Eat your own meal."
