Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 671: But I Have Two Children
"Hazel, it’s been so many years since we last met, must be ten years, right? You haven’t changed a bit, still look so young."
Hazel Yates smiled in greeting, "Oh, not at all? My face is full of wrinkles. Is this Cheryl? I remember the last time I saw her, she was just a little girl, and now she’s grown into a fine young lady."
The girl called Cheryl politely greeted, "Hello, Auntie."
Hazel Yates smiled lovingly, "So well-behaved, come on in and have a seat."
She then turned around and called out Arthur Sutton, "Arthur, come and keep your cousin Cheryl company. Didn’t the two of you stick together like glue back in school?"
Arthur Sutton, knowing Hazel Yates’s intentions, didn’t dare refuse out of politeness.
The two mothers were quite in sync. Cheryl’s mom pulled Hazel Yates aside, "Let the young ones talk among themselves, and we can chat. Hazel, you have to tell me your skincare secrets! Your skin looks so good!"
Saying this, Cheryl’s mom walked off with Hazel Yates, leaving Cheryl and Arthur Sutton standing there awkwardly.
Arthur Sutton, being the gracious host, generously said to Cheryl, "Have a seat here, would you like something to drink?"
Cheryl smiled gently, responding a bit shyly, "Champagne is fine... thank you, Arthur."
Just as a servant passed by, Arthur Sutton took a glass of champagne from the tray and handed it to Cheryl.
"Thank you." After expressing her gratitude, Cheryl noticed Arthur seemed uninterested in sitting down for a chat, so she quickly said, "Arthur, it’s been a long time."
Arthur Sutton smiled politely, "Yes, it has been a few years."
Cheryl glanced at the seat opposite her, a bit bashful as she asked, "Arthur, since we haven’t seen each other for so long, can you sit down and talk to me? What are you working on now?"
Arthur Sutton was startled for a moment, then sat down across from Cheryl, answering, "I’m helping my father manage some miscellaneous affairs."
Cheryl didn’t seem particularly interested in Arthur Sutton’s job. Nervously, her fingers traced the stem of her champagne glass as she bit her lip and asked, "So... are you married?"
Arthur Sutton wasn’t clueless; he could see the young girl was interested in him, yet unsure how to decline, he replied, "Not yet..."
Before Cheryl’s face could light up with joy, Arthur Sutton added, "But I have two children."
Cheryl’s smile froze on her face, thinking carefully over his words.
Did that mean he was divorced and had two kids?
After coming to this understanding, Cheryl said, "I... do like children a lot."
Arthur Sutton replied, "So do I."
Cheryl, "... so, how is the children’s mother doing?"
Arthur Sutton, "She’s doing quite well."
Cheryl, "..."
Confused, Arthur Sutton stood up and said, "I just saw Shane here, he should be in the entertainment room, been a while since you two met, right? Let me take you there."
Cheryl, "Ah? ...Okay."
After escorting Cheryl to her destination, Arthur Sutton quickly made his escape.
However, he didn’t return to the hall, fearing Hazel Yates might try to set him up with another girl.
Audrey Sutton waited for Vanessa to finish applying her medicine, then headed with her to the game room.
They arrived just as a game ended, Vanessa mentioned she had watched many werewolf shows but had never played, so Audrey Sutton pulled her into a game.
Having been called away by Stephen Sutton and missing the first two rounds, Phoebe King was also eagerly waiting nearby, and joined this round.
Audrey Sutton sat in her usual spot next to Shane Warner in seat five.
This round, her card was "Werewolf."
It was Audrey Sutton’s first time getting the werewolf card in the game.
She even had a plan ready, planning to volunteer to fake being the seer and achieve her goal of deceiving Shane Warner.
However, as the werewolves opened their eyes at night, she saw Shane Warner also taking off his mask next to her.
Though her little plan failed, Audrey Sutton couldn’t help but smile when she saw Shane Warner was her wolf teammate.
The other two teammates were Luc and Phoebe King.
Audrey Sutton and Phoebe King were nearly at opposite ends, quite far apart. The few of them exchanged smiles, with only Shane Warner remaining calm, scanning around.
Then, watching Audrey Sutton gesturing exaggeratedly with lip reading, "I’ll fake it, give Norman Sutton clear water."
Luc and Phoebe King nodded in agreement. Seeing Shane Warner unresponsive, Audrey Sutton assumed he didn’t understand her gestures. She was about to whisper the plan for him to do the act, but then saw him raise his hand and make fluent motions, leaving her stunned.
She roughly understood Shane Warner’s gestures indicated he had figured out the identities of the special roles, saying Norman Sutton looked like he had a role, worried he was the seer who might counter them, suggesting Audrey Sutton accuse Phoebe King instead.
When the judge asked who the werewolves would attack, everyone’s eyes turned to Shane Warner, as if seeking his decision. Shane Warner hesitated, then held up the number "6," and then put on his mask.
Audrey Sutton was briefly thrown by his move before putting on her mask, realizing he was a seasoned player in this game of werewolf tactics, suspecting she was a novice, intending to fool him!
Given the pinpoint role identification earlier, Audrey Sutton suspected his initial attacks weren’t random at all, guessing her witch identity correctly. At least she’d "poisoned the betrayer" right after learning the truth, softening the blow.
Audrey Sutton thought her fake seer speech was decent, but the self-attacker teammate chose to target the true seer’s team, picking apart her speech flaws.
Fortunately, Shane Warner made her change the inspection target, as the real seer was Norman Sutton.
If she had given the real seer clear water, she would have outed herself promptly.
Norman Sutton remained gentlemanly, not too harsh in his speech, though identifying many flaws, which ultimately led to Audrey Sutton receiving the badge.
Audrey Sutton was elated with the badge, but during the daytime vote, Phoebe King vigorously defended her good role identity.
Audrey Sutton never expected to be taken out of the game by her own teammates, but Phoebe King’s move made everyone acknowledge her as a good player, practically an Iron Wolf.
Shane Warner was saved by the witch, who was Vanessa, a kind-hearted girl who couldn’t believe her silver water was actually a self-attack tactic, so she saved Shane Warner twice.
Seraphina Vaughn figured out the logic of werewolves accusing other werewolves in a self-attack strategy but doubted the werewolf team would execute such an insane strategy, concluding that between Shane Warner and Phoebe King, only one would be a wolf.
In the end, Shane Warner self-identified and went out, attacking the final special role character at night, with only Phoebe King and Luc remaining on the field, securing victory for the werewolves.
