Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 496: I Know You Just Donβt Want to Scoop Poop
Audrey Sutton does not believe in any fantasy about resurrection, but simply feels that two people, out of the blue, even if they look alike, wouldnβt look so identical. ππβ―π¦ππ¦π£πππππ.πβ΄π
She wondered if that woman might have some connection with Lan Irving, how come Lan Irving had just passed away, yet such a person appeared in their sights?
While shopping in the supermarket, Audrey Sutton guessed and asked Shane Warner: "Does Lan Irving have any twin sisters?"
Shane Warner: "She grew up in an orphanage, the only close person to her was Faye Xavier, never heard about any family members, previously Faye Xavier tried to help her search, but didnβt find any information."
Audrey Sutton: "So her familyβs whereabouts are unknown, thereβs a possibility of having some twin sisters and such. Iβll still ask my fifth brother for more details, just in case."
Shane Warner: "Even if sheβs related to Lan Irving, she canβt stir up much trouble. Besides, Lan Irving committed suicide, canβt blame anyone else."
Audrey Sutton: "Thatβs true, but some people are psychologically twisted and donβt think that way. Itβs still reassuring to find out more."
After returning home, Shane Warner went to the kitchen counter to start preparing dinner, while Audrey Sutton sat in the living room, took her phone, and opened her fifth brotherβs WhatsApp.
Got a photo of Lan Irving from Faye Xavier, sent it to Evan Sutton: Brother, does this girl look familiar?
Soon after, Evan Sutton replied: Sheβs a doctor at our hospital, right? Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department, recently transferred from another city, seen her a few times at meetings.
Seeing Evan Suttonβs response, Audrey Sutton could almost confirm that doctor really looked identical to Lan Irving.
Audrey Sutton hurriedly asked again: Whatβs her name?
Evan Sutton: Catherine Porter, whatβs wrong? Do you guys know each other?
Audrey Sutton raised her phone, moved to Shane Warner chopping vegetables, and asked: "Does this name ring any bells for you?"
Shane Warner glanced at it, responded indifferently: "Never heard."
Audrey Sutton retracted her phone and looked down to reply to Evan Sutton: So brother, do you know about her familyβs situation? Like how many people in her family, any siblings, etc.
Evan Sutton: Itβs not proper to inquire into peopleβs personal matters, and Iβm not from her department, so not familiar.
Audrey Sutton also knew her brother was a principled person, couldnβt ask him to pry into a girlβs private matters, so didnβt continue asking.
Shane Warner said Faye Xavier also investigated, so Audrey Sutton turned to inquire about Faye Xavierβs situation.
Faye Xavier sent a long audio message, saying: "What Iβve found out is, this girlβs father passed away very early, her mother also passed away due to illness shortly before, sheβs an only child, twenty-six this year, a year younger than Lan Irving. Currently, it seems the two have no connection, but they really look alike, just by looking at this girlβs photo, itβs almost identical to Lan Irving."
Audrey Sutton played the audio out loud, Shane Warner also heard Faye Xavierβs words.
Audrey Sutton murmured after hearing: "Someday I have to meet this person, see whatβs really going on."
Shane Warner glanced at her: "Donβt look for trouble, if you canβt find something to do call your fourth brother, Iβll send General and Pea over tomorrow and let your fourth brother take care of them for now."
Audrey Sutton: "Why?"
Shane Warner: "Youβre pregnant, canβt keep them at home."
Audrey Sutton: "It doesnβt matter, as long as I donβt scoop cat litter, you do it later."
Shane Warner: "I said itβs not okay, so itβs not!"
Audrey Sutton pouted, looked at him, muttering: "I think you just donβt want to scoop litter."
Shane Warner gave himself a grand excuse: "I canβt even take care of you alone, and need to take care of cats and dogs? Talk about it after your child is born."
Audrey Sutton looked at him doubtfully for several seconds before dialing her fourth brotherβs number.
The evening amidst the rain, the sky had turned ink black.
Raindrops fell densely on the river surface, striking pits with dents.
On the bridge, Vanessa Sterling held a light purple umbrella, walking leisurely on the sidewalk by the bridge.
Carrying a clear plastic bag, printed with a supermarket logo, mostly filled with some simple-to-make instant foods.
In the long-standing environment, she should have long been accustomed to being alone, yet seeing companions walking together on the bridge, there was still yearning within her for such warmth.
Seeing the bustling city with cars and people on both sides of the road, Vanessa Sterling always felt that she was under a transparent glass cover, others couldnβt see her existence, and she couldnβt integrate with the outside world.
Since that day, Miles Sterling rarely returned home, whether he stayed elsewhere or traveled out of town, she didnβt concern herself with him, never asked for his whereabouts, and even hoped he would never return.
However, such fantasies soon shattered.
After unlocking the door with keys, she saw a pair of black menβs leather shoes by the vestibule cabinet, slightly stained with water and mud, the nearby umbrella dripping with water, clearly returned not long ago.
The TV was on in the living room, Vanessa Sterling did not glance inside, as if she didnβt notice he had returned, bent to change shoes, and walked straight to the fridge in the kitchen to put away the items from the bag.
Originally intending to cook some dumplings to eat, but seeing Miles Sterling in the living room, Vanessa Sterling, after putting things away, walked towards her room.
Her steps hadnβt reached the room door when Miles Sterlingβs voice sounded behind her, low and husky as if he had a cold: "Buying things this late?"
Vanessa Sterling paused, turned her back to him and said "hmm," raised her foot to continue into the room when he asked: "Did you eat dinner?"
Only then did Vanessa Sterling glance at him, softly replied: "Will eat later."
Miles Sterling: "Iβm hungry."
She just looked at him, gave no response.
Miles Sterling continued: "Go make something to eat."
Vanessa Sterling pressed her lips, unusually refused his order: "Thereβre things in the fridge; cook yourself if youβre hungry, Iβm not hungry now."
Miles Sterling seemed displeased by her defiance, frowned, raised his voice: "I said I was hungry, told you to cook, didnβt ask you to eat with me."
Vanessa Sterling stood there for two seconds, unwilling to argue further, barely audibly sighed, and silently walked towards the kitchen.
Freshly bought frozen dumplings, cooked until done, filled one large bowl and one small bowl.
She brought the large bowl to Miles Sterling by the coffee table, carried the small bowl into her room.
Just as she turned, Miles Sterling called her: "Donβt take it to the bedroom to eat."
He kicked a small wooden stool by the coffee table to her leg: "Sit here."
