Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!-Chapter 204: Boyfriend
She didn’t want to anger Ethan Sterling over such a trivial matter.
"How do you want to say it?"
Ethan Sterling looked at him, his gaze like a bloodthirsty predator, sinister and frightening.
Seraphina Redgrave stood where she was and took off her black shirt that belonged to Ethan Sterling: "I won’t tell them you’re Ethan Sterling, but rather, that you’re my boyfriend." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Seraphina hesitated a moment before saying the last three words, feeling somewhat strange.
Even though they’ve been as intimate as can be, their relationship had nothing to do with romance at all.
Ethan Sterling didn’t mind Seraphina’s strange pause, his sinister gaze gradually turning calm: "Fair enough."
"Let’s go back to Hibiscus Garden."
Seraphina spoke.
"Okay."
Ethan Sterling stood up.
"Your watch."
Seraphina glanced at the table to remind him.
"Someone else touched it, it’s dirty."
Ethan Sterling spoke as if stating the obvious.
Alright, having money is indeed nice.
Seraphina was about to leave when Ethan Sterling looked at her again: "You’ve never given me a gift, have you?"
"Hmm?"
Seraphina turned her head, showing confusion.
"Your society members told me you spent a lot of money on me," Ethan Sterling looked at Seraphina, "You might as well tell me where you spent it."
What nonsense did Ronan Yates tell her?
Seraphina was about to speak when Ethan Sterling stood before her, his eyes fixed on her, and spoke plainly: "Forget it, we’ll talk about it next time."
After saying that, Ethan Sterling walked past Seraphina and out the door.
Seraphina was speechless.
What did he mean by "next time"? Did he mean she should spend money to buy him a gift?
Ronan Yates truly was her good teammate.
Seraphina picked up a pair of Ethan Sterling’s, as Ethan Sterling stood outside, gazing at the painting on the wall.
It was a painting by Seraphina called "Tower." Ronan Yates had made a large copy and hung it in their meeting room, claiming it was the origin of their society, to inspire members to strive harder.
"Where’s the original?"
Ethan Sterling looked at the painting and spoke.
"That was my exam paper, I’ve already handed it in."
Seraphina responded.
Ethan Sterling stood there without a ripple, suddenly hearing someone knocking outside.
Seraphina walked outside to see the principal at The Defiance Society’s door, smiling broadly when he saw her: "Student Shaw, it’s great that you’re here."
The smile was full of flattery.
Seraphina found it odd, looked at Ethan Sterling, and asked, "Why is the principal coming to The Defiance Society, is there something he wants to discuss?"
"It’s like this, I have an invitation for you, and I’m here to deliver it."
The principal walked over with a golden envelope, his attitude very respectful.
"You came to deliver it in person?"
Seraphina took the invitation and glanced at it, immediately realizing why the principal was so obsequious.
The invitation was from The Presidential Palace.
The principal laughed awkwardly: "Student Shaw, I have always greatly appreciated your abilities and strongly supported the work of The Defiance Society. When you see the President, please put in a good word for me."
Seraphina stood there, giving the principal a cold look.
"Alright, I’ll go now, you get busy..."
With that, the principal left directly without even drinking tea.
"What the heck?"
Ethan Sterling walked toward Seraphina.
Seraphina opened the invitation, glanced at the words on it, raised an eyebrow, and said with a smile: "The President wants to meet the members of The Defiance Society."
Ethan Sterling stood there, looking down, and suddenly saw the light in her eyes, her expression brightened.
The President had openly arranged to meet The Defiance Society members, which was a good thing.
Her voice revealed no special emotion, for she had long anticipated this day.
But Seraphina was smiling; she had waited for this moment for a long time.
Ethan Sterling looked at Seraphina’s brightened face, recalling the day he overheard a couple arguing on the roadside, and thinking of Seraphina’s painting "Tower."
If Seraphina was drawing closer to her goal, did that mean she was moving further away from him?
Ethan Sterling gently furrowed his brows.
Seraphina was truly happy. She closed the invitation in her hand, looked up at Ethan Sterling’s amber eyes, the smile frozen on her face: "What’s wrong?"
Why was he looking at her like this?
"Seraphina." Ethan Sterling spoke, "As long as your smile isn’t because of me, I feel unhappy, like I’m no longer in your eyes."
Seraphina’s expression became unpleasant for a moment.
Ethan Sterling raised his hand to hold Seraphina’s chin, slowly leaning closer, his gaze fixed on her: "You know I’m very possessive, right?"
In thought and action, Seraphina belonged solely to him.
"Ethan..."
"Don’t be afraid, I’m not going to do anything, just wanted to tell you."
After saying that, Ethan Sterling gently kissed the corner of Seraphina’s lips, ruffled her hair, and looked at her with gradually deepening eyes, smiling slightly.
Seraphina looked at Ethan Sterling without speaking.
"Let’s go back."
Ethan Sterling wrapped his arm around Seraphina and they went out, as if nothing had happened.
On the way, Seraphina couldn’t help but glance at Ethan Sterling. His expression was stern and emotionless, leaving her completely unable to guess what Ethan Sterling was thinking.
Because of the invitation from The Presidential Palace, the members of The Defiance Society were quite happy.
No matter if the President was concerned about the current public opinion trend or feared they might do something, since he had so openly invited them, he would likely reward them, if only for appearances.
On that day, Seraphina declined the President’s car, asked Ronan Yates to rent a car to take the members to The Presidential Palace, and planned to meet them there later.
Seraphina changed into a casual sportswear outfit, with the sleeves simply rolled up at the wrists, looking very neat.
In the bathroom, she tied her hair into two ponytails, fully revealing her fair and beautiful face.
For Seraphina herself, she didn’t like dressing too elaborately; being like this was just right.
Seraphina left the bathroom, Ethan Sterling leaned against the door watching her, satisfied to see she had dressed simply and not overly dolled herself up.
"Is it time?"
"Yes."
Seraphina nodded, picked up her bag and looked at him, "Your injuries haven’t healed yet, it’s best to rest and don’t play games all the time. If there’s anything at the company, let Nathan Ayers send over the documents, I’ll be back at Hibiscus Garden tonight."
"Okay."
Ethan Sterling responded.
"Then I’m leaving."
Seraphina walked to the door, hearing the man’s deep voice: "If you’re really worried, then don’t go."
Seraphina turned her head in surprise, seeing Ethan Sterling standing there, looking at her with a deep gaze.
Seeing Seraphina look over, Ethan Sterling spoke again: "Don’t go, stay at Hibiscus Garden with me."
Stay with me all the time.
