Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 547 - 546: I Just Like Serena Sullivan
Mindy Sterling used the name "Robin Rowan" to enter the design world early in her career.
It was only after she became famous that everyone knew Robin Rowan was Mindy Sterling.
Many people wanted to connect with The Sterling Family, hoping their daughters or sons could learn from Mindy Sterling.
Mindy Sterling became famous through her own strength and hated going through backdoor channels, so she directly refused.
The few apprentices she accepted were all selected through rigorous screenings.
In the design world, there was talk that Felicity Sterling was the last apprentice Mindy took, but this wasn’t entirely true.
Mrs. Sterling had Felicity learn design from Mindy, and Mindy taught her niece diligently - she was Felicity’s teacher.
However, Mindy did not recognize Felicity as her apprentice.
She told Mrs. Sterling that she was teaching her niece, not an apprentice.
She didn’t want to take family members as apprentices.
Mrs. Sterling was very angry, and regardless of whether Mindy acknowledged it or not, she insisted that Felicity was Mindy’s apprentice.
As rumors spread, they became regarded as fact.
Mindy didn’t want to break ties with her sister-in-law, so she went along with them.
However, in various occasions, she wouldn’t introduce Felicity as her apprentice and rarely helped with design-related matters.
Learning was fine, but she preferred leaving the future planning to Mrs. Sterling.
Now, listening to Mindy introduce Serena Sullivan so formally to the noblewomen as her apprentice, Mrs. Sterling got upset.
It was disrespectful to her!
"Second sister-in-law." Mindy called out calmly, her expression unchanged.
"Aunt." Felicity followed suit.
"Felicity, your aunt is here to pave the way for others."
Mrs. Preston had previously mentioned that the necklace she wore at the anniversary was reserved for Mindy. Mindy had arrived and brought Serena along; wasn’t this paving the way for Serena?
Furthermore, Mindy had secretly taken Serena as her apprentice, and Serena was previously the rising star in the design world, "zero," overshadowing Felicity.
The burden of anger pressed down on Mrs. Sterling, and her face grew dark, looking rather grim.
"Hmm!" Mindy lightly responded, further irritating Mrs. Sterling.
So many people were present, yet Mindy wasn’t giving Mrs. Sterling face at all.
Mindy played with art, preferring to rely entirely on her intuition without considering family ties, but having been influenced by The Sterling Family, she understood the ways of the world. She redirected the conversation, saying to Mrs. Sterling, "Sister-in-law, why belittle me like this?"
"Felicity and Serena are both my nieces."
"Serena only has me as a mentor to support her, whereas there are many people helping Felicity."
Wasn’t Mrs. Sterling here to help Felicity connect with Mrs. Preston?
"Mrs. Preston." Mindy looked apologetically at Mrs. Preston and raised her hand slightly, "My hand is injured; I can’t help you design the necklace this time."
"I know ’zero’s’ level very well, and you mentioned before how much you like her."
Mrs. Preston nodded, noticing that Mindy’s hand wasn’t quite manageable.
However, agreeing with Mindy would offend Mrs. Sterling.
"So it turns out you’re here for Mrs. Preston’s necklace." Mrs. Sterling chimed in, "Coincidentally, my Felicity is here for this too."
Mrs. Sterling directly stated her intentions.
"Mindy, Felicity has learned design from you for so many years; are you saying your personally taught pupil can’t stand up to someone who appeared halfway?"
Serena has emerged over these years, while Felicity started learning from a young age.
"Design requires talent!"
"It’s not just about the time spent learning."
Mindy retorted bluntly, not giving face.
She simply liked Serena!
