Chapter 379: Chapter 378: The Same Ending

Suddenly called by Serena Sullivan, Claire Sullivan halted, tightly clenching her hands together.

"Is there anything else?"

Afraid that Serena would ask about Mr. Sterling.

"How is your divorce with Joel Quinn going!"

Serena asked calmly.

Claire Sullivan and Joel Quinn had reached such a point that they couldn’t be together anymore. She was worried that Joel would shamelessly refuse to divorce, dragging out time, which wouldn’t benefit Claire Sullivan.

"I’ve filed for divorce."

Claire Sullivan breathed a sigh of relief, turned to look at Serena, "But he doesn’t agree."

Only now she realized that the man who kept claiming to love her was actually a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Mr. Sterling is genuinely rotten, Joel Quinn is falsely rotten. There’s no difference between the two; one made her hate, the other made her sick.

"I really have terrible judgment." Claire Sullivan said self-mockingly upon thinking this.

Serena agreed and looked at Claire, then asked, "Is he living with Ruth Hale now?"

"No!"

Claire shook her head, "At this critical moment, he’ll surely avoid being caught cheating."

The video Serena provided last time only showed Joel Quinn’s silhouette. Combined with The Sullivan Corporation’s corridor surveillance, it could force Joel to admit, but submitting it to court was still not enough.

"I’ve already hired a private detective to investigate their past relationship."

Serena smiled; Claire finally woke up.

She always feared Claire would fall for Joel Quinn, and when Serena was gone, Claire’s ending would be miserable.

Now that Claire recognized Joel for who he was, it was somewhat reassuring.

"Invite Ruth Hale out; I’ll go with you to see her."

Serena added.

"Invite Ruth Hale?" Claire asked puzzled, unable to decipher Serena’s intentions, but now she believed anything Serena said.

People only know to cherish after losing, and only realize what’s right and wrong after suffering.

Serena’s attitude toward her was cold, lacking the enthusiasm and intimacy of before, making Claire uncomfortable and helpless.

"Okay." Claire responded, and suddenly Serena’s vision blurred, the spoon in her hand clanging to the floor.

Claire watched, talking, as Serena’s face grew pale and rushed over in panic.

"Serena!"

She called out, and Serena came to from her dizziness.

"It’s nothing; I didn’t sleep well last night." Serena recovered after a moment.

Recently, it was excessive sleepiness and lack of energy; now it had turned to dizziness.

What’s next, Serena knew better than anyone.

"I’ll go change clothes; let’s go together."

Serena said, turning her wheelchair back to the room.

Back in the room, Serena opened her phone; another message from Des Davis asking when she’d go for surgery.

She was annoyed, directly deleting the message and blocking him.

What difference does surgery make!

The outcome is the same! She’d rather do more while she could now.

Originally, showing Claire Sullivan the true face of Joel Quinn was good enough. Mr. Sterling’s family arriving in Solaria made her feel very uneasy.

She didn’t fully trust all of Claire’s words.

Ruth Hale received Claire Sullivan’s text and, without much thought, quickly arrived at the agreed coffee shop.

The café was in a mall, the same mall she used to frequent with Claire Sullivan.

Previously, she used to shop with Claire, buying lots of clothes and cosmetics, all paid for by Claire Sullivan.
