Chapter 315: Chapter 314

Claire Sullivan did not respond. She turned her head, looking very seriously at the TV screen. When she saw Zoe Quinn, who was lying on the ground, tortured to the extreme by the drugs, cursing Serena Sullivan, her body tensed, and the coldness in her eyes grew stronger.

"It’s not like that!"

Seeing that Claire Sullivan was ignoring her, Zoe Quinn spoke loudly to the still dazed Ruth Hale, "Quick, find the remote control."

Ruth Hale, snapped out of it, searched the room and quickly found the remote control on the sofa.

The TV went black, along with the screen and content, and both Ruth Hale and Zoe Quinn breathed a sigh of relief.

"Mom!"

Zoe Quinn reached out to grab Claire Sullivan’s hand, "It’s not what you saw."

"I was drugged, that’s why I said those things."

The more Zoe Quinn spoke, the more aggrieved and sad she became. Her tears blurred her pale face, making Ruth Hale exclaim angrily, "Claire Sullivan, are you blind?"

"If Serena hadn’t drugged her, Zoe wouldn’t have said those things."

"Besides, Zoe wasn’t wrong, Serena is a bitch."

To so viciously drug Zoe, what else could she be?

The word "bitch" made Claire Sullivan’s eyes turn cold. She couldn’t bear to hear others calling Serena a "bitch, useless person." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

That was her daughter! Her own flesh and blood!

And these words came from her stepdaughter, whom she treated even better than Serena.

"Mom, I was framed." Zoe Quinn was still crying, clutching Claire Sullivan’s hand without finishing her sentence, when that familiar voice drifted in from outside the window.

It was hers, the words she said at the Grant Corporation’s banquet.

"I’m not jealous of her!"

"I just want to kill her! Get a man to sleep with her, and see where a crippled bitch like her can run!"

These words were even more sinister than before. Ruth Hale immediately turned her head to find the source of the sound, and seeing the dark TV screen, she realized the sounds were coming from outside the window.

Zoe Quinn’s words were being transmitted from outside.

Ruth Hale ran to the window and saw that the sounds seemed to be everywhere. She looked up and saw the highest building in Solaria, where a big screen was broadcasting the news.

"Turn it off! Turn it off now!"

Zoe Quinn didn’t know where the sound was coming from, but hearing phrase after phrase in front of Claire Sullivan, she was frantic, and her tears flowed without needing any acting skill.

"What about for Claire Sullivan?"

"Her..."

Zoe Quinn couldn’t remember what she said at this point.

It was definitely nothing good. Not caring how weak she was, she jumped off the bed.

She wanted to turn off the video, to pause all these voices.

But it was useless; the sound came clearly from outside, and Zoe Quinn’s mocking and contemptuous voice went straight into Claire Sullivan’s heart.

"She’s just a toy in my dad’s hands. Whatever I want, she gives me everything!"

With a "bang," seeing that she couldn’t turn off the video outside, Ruth Hale could only close the window.

The window separated the hospital room from the outside, and everything finally quieted down a bit.

However, what needed to be heard, Claire Sullivan had heard without missing a word.

Zoe Quinn had initially breathed a sigh of relief but panicked seeing this. Her icy hands reached out to grab Claire Sullivan’s hand.

"Mom, don’t listen to them, I was wronged."

Claire Sullivan didn’t move. She tensed her body, looking seriously at Zoe Quinn for the first time—her stepdaughter, whom she treated even better than her own daughter.
