Chapter 260: Chapter 197: You Really Are a Good Actor

But the curve of his lips became more pronounced.

This man has mastered the art of sweet talk perfectly.

Lucy looked at Maeve’s face, which was unusually red, then glanced at the stunningly handsome man standing next to her, and asked with concern, "What’s wrong? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"

Maeve coughed and pretended to be calm, saying, "Nothing."

Sean laughed, "You guys were dividing tasks just now, right? Is there anything you need me to do?"

"You’ve worked hard all morning, take a break first. Leave the rest to us." Lucy pointed to the chickens and ducks on the ground and said, "These are our dishes for today."

"Alright." Sean nodded, "Julian, let’s head inside for a bit of rest and then come back out to see how we can help."

Julian glanced at the girl who was no longer looking at him, a hint of amusement flashed in his eyes.

"Who will be handling these ingredients?"

He suddenly asked.

Kylie instinctively replied, "Me! I’ll handle these things later."

For the first time since the show started, the man looked at her directly.

"Thanks for your hard work."

Kylie’s face flushed with excitement, even though Julian only gave her a fleeting glance before looking away, but that glance meant a good beginning!

"It’s not hard work!"

Julian finally noticed her!

Lucy saw Kylie’s expression and didn’t bother to explain any further, conveniently saying, "Then it’s up to Kylie to sort these ingredients, Maeve, do you prefer cooking or preparing the firewood?"

Julian didn’t leave either, silently waiting for Maeve’s response.

Maeve slightly raised her eyes, "I’ll prepare the firewood."

"Alright, then it’s decided."

Lucy concluded decisively.

Julian still didn’t go inside but instead took the initiative to ask, "Maeve..."

Maeve almost lost her composure.

Fortunately, Julian knew a little about maintaining "boundaries." He used a polite but evidently not distant tone to say, "I’ll go with you."

Kylie stood there as if struck by lightning, dumbfounded.

Lucy was also a bit surprised, "Julian, aren’t you going to rest for a bit? There will be staff accompanying Maeve later."

"No need." Julian said in an indisputable tone, "Just going for a little walk."

Lucy, seeing this, didn’t say much more and advised, "Be careful of slippery roads, it rained a bit this morning, and Mount Theron might be a bit slippery."

"Alright."

Kylie watched the backs of Maeve and Julian walking side by side, feeling a trace of discontent in her heart.

She had a better chance earlier to spend time with Julian, but now she’s stuck in the backyard handling these things.

She shouldn’t have responded so quickly earlier!

Otherwise, she’d be the one taking a stroll with Julian now...

There were cameras following along the way as well.

Maeve and Julian maintained a social distance between them—enough space for another person to stand.

The Serene Homestead is nestled against Mount Theron, so it wasn’t long before they arrived.

A tiled path had been laid here long ago, and although it’s a bit steep, it’s still passable.

The area the program team could temporarily use is near the filming location, and this forest area has trees specifically grown for paper-making, with a short growth cycle. The production team had placed some tools over there a while ago.

Maeve picked up an axe from a stump, showing some interest, "I’ve never chopped wood before."

It’s even more obvious that Julian, probably has never even seen firewood in his life.

He also took one from inside, and said lightly, "Stand back here, don’t come close."

"We don’t need much; cutting two or three trees will be enough."

"Are you planning to do the work for me?" Maeve was a bit eager, "It’s fine, I’m not that delicate. You watch first, if I can’t handle it, then you can help me."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

Julian raised an eyebrow, "Come here."

Maeve moved a bit closer, and the man took a pair of gloves out of his pocket, speaking languidly, "Put these on, don’t injure your hands."

"Alright." Maeve was a bit curious, "Where did you get these gloves? I didn’t notice them."

Julian laughed subtly, "I prepared them myself."

Maeve lightly furrowed her brow.

Prepared by himself? Did Julian plan to do this job originally?

He didn’t explain, and Maeve didn’t waste any more words.

She put on the gloves and got straight to work, carrying the axe to a tree, first comparing it with her hand, then aiming at a spot—

"Bang!"

The ground seemed to tremble slightly!

The cameraman’s hand shook, almost dropping the camera on the ground.

Maeve looked over at the source of the sound, her red lips moved, "Sorry, I didn’t expect it to be so solid."
