Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Young Master Is Drunk

To make the acting more realistic and effective, Director Dayne used real alcohol on set.

Maeve Lane felt a little tipsy just smelling it.

Now it was time for everyone to make toasts, and she estimated her drinking limit and drank a little.

Thankfully, Director Dayne knew her tolerance wasn’t great since last time, and just a bit of alcohol could get her drunk, so Maeve’s drink was diluted with water, whereas Julian Fairchild had pure spirits.

"Strategist Morley, how does your brain work to come up with such a brilliant plan?"

"Yes, I think it’s worthy of a place in history!"

"If we couldn’t capture the city, who knows how many people we’d lose; thankfully, we have two divine beings here!"

"With Strategist Morley assisting Crown Prince, who else in the world could rival us!"

"..."

Maeve drank some "wine," and her head started to feel a bit dizzy, but fortunately, this part of the scene was nearing completion.

Everyone drank until they were drunkenly merry, and the rain increased gradually. Intermittently, people stood up and returned to their own tents.

Because Eliza Grant and Miles Monarch shared the same tent, Maeve needed to help Julian Fairchild back now.

She had been focused on acting just now, not paying attention to Julian Fairchild beside her.

Now she turned and saw the man’s handsome face flushed red, even his neck was a bit red, it seemed he was really drunk.

Maeve stood up and "wobbled" over to Julian Fairchild, wrapping a soft hand around his waist, while her other hand pulled his arm over her slender shoulder, her voice softened, "Come on! Let’s go back and sleep!"

Julian Fairchild’s eyelids twitched, nearly forgetting his lines again.

He inwardly laughed bitterly; if he continued to do emotional scenes with Maeve Lane, his reputation as an award-winning actor might be completely ruined.

Maeve had no idea Julian Fairchild merely looked very drunk; she truly feared that if she didn’t hold him steadily, he might fall. So although the action seemed like acting, it wasn’t entirely.

Their tent was not far away, very close, just a few cuts between close-ups and wide shots by the cameraman would just about capture it.

So Maeve quickly brought Julian Fairchild to the next scene.

"Cut—" Director Dayne shouted to stop, he laughed and said, "You two rest for five minutes first, we’ll set up the cameras inside the tent for the next scene."

Maeve nodded and sat beside Julian Fairchild to rest.

The man didn’t know how much he had drunk, and upon hearing the break, he made no move, still sitting at the spot where Maeve had placed him, eyes closed, motionless.

She leaned in closer, "Do you want some water? There are hangover remedies prepared over there, should I add some to your water?"

Julian Fairchild opened his eyes, slowly uttering a single word, "Okay."

She felt that the drunken Julian Fairchild was like a little kid; why did he seem somewhat adorable?

On the table beside them was bottled water, Maeve grabbed a bottle from it, and when she handed it to Julian Fairchild, she considerately opened the cap.

Julian Fairchild looked at the bottle of water in her hand, hesitating to make a move.

Maeve offered it forward again, "Here’s the water, do you not want to drink it anymore?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Miles Hughes, who was silently standing behind, glanced at Julian Fairchild and coughed before speaking to Maeve Lane with a smile, "Miss Lane, our Fairchild might be too drunk to realize you brought him water, so... you might need to help him drink a little."

"Drunk to this extent?" Maeve Lane was half-skeptical as she brought the water closer.
