Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 789 - 785, I don’t have the energy to play these boring games with you.
The lawyer rose calmly and put away her briefcase. "Very well, Mr. Felix, I will convey your request to my client," she said.
In Mia Foster’s office, the lawyer communicated Felix Shaw’s intentions. Without a word, Mia took out a divorce agreement from her office desk drawer and went with the lawyer to Hutton Corporation again.
For more than a week, every divorce agreement the lawyer sent was discarded by Felix Shaw. Thus, she instructed the lawyer to prepare countless copies to be delivered daily until he signed it.
Driving herself, with the lawyer in tow, Mia Foster arrived at the Hutton Office Building dressed in a pale green OL suit skirt, her long hair neatly tied at the back of her head, and walked into the company’s lobby in high heels without a sideways glance, with Attorney Chen following behind her.
Unlike before, Mia Foster headed straight for the elevators without greeting the receptionist.
Seeing Director Foley’s Madam acting so aloof, the receptionist at the front desk blinked in stupefaction, seemingly at a loss.
At the executive office floor, Mia Foster didn’t even greet the secretary before she walked directly to Felix Shaw’s office, knocking symbolically and entering without waiting for a response.
"Are you always this rude?" Seeing the woman who had entered his office, Felix Shaw asked coldly. Mia walked up to his desk and took out the divorce agreement from her bag and pushed it towards him.
"I’m here in person now; sign it."
Glancing at the lawyer standing behind, Felix said, "Please step outside for a moment; there are private matters not suitable for you to hear."
Looking at his client and seeing no objection, Attorney Chen said, "Manager Foster, I’ll wait outside for you," and then turned and left the office.
Picking up the divorce agreement, Felix Shaw slowly stood up, walked over from behind his desk to stand in front of Mia Foster, weighed the agreement in his hand, and asked, "Why divorce?"
"Is that even a question?" Mia Foster raised her head, meeting Felix Shaw’s condescending gaze with no retreat.
With a shaky breath, Felix Shaw turned his face away, "I disagree. Give up on this idea." Having said that, he took the agreement back behind the desk and, approaching his executive chair, the agreement once again ended up in the trash bin.
"Felix Shaw, what do you gain from doing this?" Mia Foster asked coldly, and Felix responded equally unyielding, facing her frosty gaze with his own, "Is it fun having your lawyer send a divorce agreement every day?"
Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, Mia Foster calmed her emotions before asking coldly, "If you don’t like me, why won’t you divorce me?"
"Why should I divorce you?" Felix Shaw replied, his evasive attitude greatly frustrating Mia Foster. The company had been very busy these past few days, negotiating cooperations, and so, she had no patience for his sophistry. Taking a breath and turning to leave, Mia Foster said, "Since you refuse to sign, then wait for the lawyer’s letter."
Just as she turned to leave and took a step, her wrist was suddenly gripped tightly by the man who had rapidly approached from behind the office.
"Mia Foster, there’s a limit to playing around. I’m very busy right now and don’t have the energy for these childish games!"
"Ha!" With a snort of cold ridicule, Mia Foster suddenly laughed, facing Felix Shaw’s clearly furious, peach blossom eyes, she said, "Felix Shaw, I don’t have the time to go around in circles with you either. You’re so in love with that woman, now, I’ll step out of the way and let you have her."
"There’s nothing at all between us!"
