Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 651 - 647. Treat her to a reward once
Hutton Group Ltd had just finished its morning meeting. As Felix Shaw stood up to leave with the company’s senior executives, his father, Oliver Shaw, stopped him, "Felix, come to my office."
Watching his authoritative father walk out, Felix Shaw hesitated with the documents in his hand before following leisurely. Clearly understanding what was on his father’s mind, he suspected his father would ask why he hadn’t returned home the night before.
After closing the office door, Felix Shaw immediately asked, "Dad, what did you want to see me about?"
Oliver Shaw had already walked around to his executive chair to sit down, looking at his unserious son with a stern face showing no sign of clearing up.
"Where were you last night? Did you go messing around with that little starlet again!"
"Dad, you have quite the memory," Felix Shaw strolled to the couch and sat down, tossing the documents in his hand onto the coffee table in front of him. He spoke to his father in a very deliberate manner, "Didn’t you set up a date for me last night? Have you forgotten?"
"A date that lasted all night?"
Oliver Shaw’s tone grew even more severe, and the look on his face showed he knew his son was lying.
"Well, not the whole night," Felix Shaw said nonchalantly, a smile playing at the corner of his lips. "Mia Foster and I watched a movie, then we had supper together. It was too late and I didn’t want to disturb you and mom’s rest, so I found a hotel nearby."
"Just you alone?"
Oliver Shaw asked, obviously not believing his son’s words. Felix Shaw laughed roguishly, "Dad, your son is a gentleman, how could I feel at ease letting Mia go home alone at that late hour, so..." Felix Shaw dragged out his words intentionally to let his father’s imagination fill in the blanks, "Mia and I stayed at the hotel together."
Seeing his father’s frown deepen, Felix hurriedly explained, "But don’t get me wrong, sir. Mia and I slept separately, she in the interior suite and I on the couch. If you don’t believe it you can call her to verify."
Felix Shaw knew very well that his father, Oliver Shaw, would never actually call Mia Foster to verify, and to show that he was telling the truth, he added, "If you don’t believe me, ask your secretary, Miss Wang. She saw me come into the company wearing the same suit as when I went on the date last night."
"Enough!" Oliver Shaw frowned impatiently, "Felix, remember this: since you’ve decided to see Mia Foster, break it off with all those other women you’re mixed up with. Otherwise, I won’t let it slide; I’ll freeze all your bank cards and see how you find women without any money!"
"Got it, Dad, don’t worry," Felix Shaw agreed with a smile. His parents didn’t agree to him marrying Elizabeth White, so he had to keep her on the side for now. Once they were past the point of no return and he brought home a chubby grandson, he wanted to see how they could still oppose it.
"Felix, don’t blame me for nagging, but I will tell you one last time. Mia Foster isn’t just an ordinary rich girl—from her family background to her professional abilities, she is a standout in the industry."
"Dad, I know, Mia is excellent, and I am serious about dating her," Felix replied, already deciding to use this as his shield.
"I hope you are serious." Concluding his lecture, Oliver Shaw picked up a folder and began to flip through it, "Go on then, get back to work. Remember to bring her home for dinner one day."
Stepping out of his father’s office, Felix Shaw couldn’t help feeling smug. It seemed that with Mia Foster as his shield, even his father was easy to deceive. He thought he should reward her for this, waiting for the next chance to have her help him bluff his way through.
The man who was smitten with Mia Foster after only one meeting, yet was completely unaware of it himself.
