Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 65 - : Birthday Party
Chapter 65 - 65: Birthday Party
Kate sneered and stormed out of the apartment. She rushed into the elevator and repeatedly pressed the close button. Only when the doors fully shut did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.
It was terrifying. Her own father wanted to sell her for money!
How did she end up with a father like him?
It was utterly disgusting!

Everyone was busy preparing for Railer's birthday party at the Wilson Residence. The emcees, chefs, and pastry chefs were already busy, even though there were still nine hours left before the event.
Railer disliked crowds and rarely spoke to people. To keep him comfortable, his birthday was always held at the Wilson Residence. The Wilson family invited only a few guests, mainly wealthy families close to them.
In recent years, being invited to Railer's birthday has become a status symbol among Easthan's elite.
Kane had celebrated a few birthdays but never with his parents. He was overjoyed to see Chantelle's name on the guest list.
He quickly grabbed his smartwatch and sent her a series of messages.
"Mommy! I saw the guest list for the birthday party. You're coming, right?"
"Mommy! Doesn't your son look incredibly handsome today? My stylist is a really beautiful young lady!"
"Mommy! Why are you ignoring me? Are you counting money with Rai again?"
Chantelle was sleeping when her phone buzzed with notifications.
She picked it up and scrolled through Kane's messages.
She stopped when she saw a selfie of him.
Opening the picture, she saw him dressed in a silk suit with a bowtie. He looked just like a mini version of Daniel.
She couldn't help but wish Daniel was as cute as Kane.
As she admired the photos, a smile spread across her face. She thought her son looked incredibly handsome.
She saved every picture on her phone and quickly typed a reply.
"My super handsome beloved son, happy birthday!"
Kane responded right away.
"Thank you, Mommy. Just transfer my gift money to my debit card."
Chantelle smirked and replied.
"Read. Pretending not to see the message..."
Chantelle put away her phone and headed to the bathroom.
She had sweated a lot and felt uncomfortable after another nightmare last night.
After taking a shower, she went downstairs.
Russell and Calvin had already decorated the living room.
Before going to the Wilson Residence, she had planned a small birthday celebration at home for Rai.
Seeing the beautifully decorated space, she felt satisfied.
Rolling up her sleeves, she stepped into the kitchen to bake a cake for Rai.
The cake base was ready, but the cream was vegan, making it trickier to prepare.
Since it had been a long time since she last baked, she had prepared everything in advance.
The cake was finished quickly since she was in a good mood. She even decorated it with a Baymax design using the cream.
Russell carefully wheeled Rai out of his sterile room.
"Happy Birthday, Rai!"
Chantelle brought out the cake and placed lighted candles on top, ready for him to make a wish.
Rai looked surprised. He wondered how Chantelle knew it was his birthday.
"Rai, Auntie baked this cake for you. Do you like it?"
Railer's eyes lit up when he heard that she had made the cake herself.
He had seen on TV that mothers usually baked cakes for their children's birthdays.
Did this mean Chantelle thought of him as her own?
The idea made his heart flutter. Blushing, he looked at her, smiled, and nodded.
Chantelle felt relieved. She had worried that the Baymax design might be too childish for him.
It turned out she had nothing to worry about. Her brilliant son was still a child at heart.
Chantelle held Rai's hand, and they cut the cake together. He ate a big slice, which filled her with a sense of accomplishment.
Even though Rai still didn't speak, she could feel their bond growing stronger. She believed that one day, he would trust her completely. She had no doubts about it.
Since Rai couldn't sit for long, he had to return to his sterile room after eating.
But before that, Russell made him endure a ridiculous, sexy dance.
Unsure of what Rai would like as a gift, Chantelle decided to give him a trading account. She also deposited a million dollars as starting capital.
When she saw the look on Rai's face, she knew he liked it. That made her happy.
To prevent Kane from feeling left out and making a fuss, she transferred a million dollars to his trading account as well.
Moments after the transfer, she received a text from Kane.
"Thank you, my sponsor!"
"Speak nicely."
"Thank you, Mommy! My mommy is the prettiest woman in the world!"
"Good boy."
"Mommy, when are you coming? Your beloved son can't wait to see you."

"I'm leaving now."
"I'll be waiting for you. Muacks!"
Chantelle changed her clothes and had Calvin drive her to the Wilson Residence when it was nearly time.
She arrived at 5:45 PM.
Luxury cars filled the area.
Every wealthy family had arrived.
The entrance of the Wilson Residence was wide open, with a red carpet stretching from the gate to the inside.
Chantelle stood in front of the gate and let out a sigh. For the first time in five years, she was here without having to hide her identity.
Five years ago, she was abandoned at this very place. The memory still stung. Standing here again, she could feel the pain of that humiliation all over again.
"Ms. Chantelle, since you're already here, why not go inside?"
A deep, smooth voice broke her thoughts.
She lifted her eyes instantly, only to find Daniel's eyes glued onto her.
For a brief moment, she panicked. But she quickly regained her composure.
"Mr. Wilson himself is welcoming guests?"
"I have no choice. I need to be ready to catch the wolf I've set a trap for. I can't let my prey escape right in front of me."
"Are you so sure you won't get bitten?"
"If I do, I'll accept it willingly."
Chantelle felt Daniel was too confident.
She wasn't sure if he was teasing her, so she stayed silent and let him lead her inside, holding his arm.
The Wilson Residence was massive.
Faerie lights decorated the space, and costumed mascots roamed around, interacting with guests.
The whole place looked like something out of a fairy tale.
As her eyes roamed around, she realized Kane must have influenced the theme. He had always wanted a party like this.
She had planned to make it happen for his birthday, yet Daniel had done it first.
