Chapter 50 - 50: Don’t Try Tracking Me

Earlier, he had left Wilson Group of Companies feeling completely defeated. Outside the building, he had spotted Kane.

Desperate and with nothing to lose, he had decided to take the boy.

He had expected him to resist and make a scene.

Instead, Kane was completely cooperative. This kid is full of surprises.

Roman smirked, thinking, Daniel would definitely give up Wilson Group for Rai's sake. I'll finally bring down the Wilson family.

Kane scoffed. "I'm not a three-year-old, old man. Do you really think ice cream and toys will satisfy me?"

Roman raised a brow. "Then what do you want?"

"It depends on how much the ransom is," Kane said, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

Roman hesitated. "Ransom? What ransom? I'm just taking you out to play."

His voice quivered, showing his nervousness.

"In that case, send me home. I don't want to play with you anymore," Kane said casually.

"You brat!" Roman snapped.

"Why are you so fierce, old man? I'm not in the mood to play anymore. Let me call my dad," Kane said, reaching for his phone.

"Stop! You can have anything you want if you cooperate," Roman sighed in defeat.

Kane grinned. Finally! A golden opportunity to make some money.

Roman stared at Kane in disbelief. Is this really my five-year-old grandson? The boy was cunning! He even planned the route and decided the ransom amount. Am I dreaming?

An hour later, Daniel received a text message.

"I have your son. You have one hour to prepare 10 million dollars, or I'll kill him."

Attached were two photos of Kane looking terrified.

Fury surged through Daniel. He snapped the pen in his hand.

Just then, his phone rang. It was Charles.

"Railer is gone!"

"Yeah. Someone kidnapped Rai," Daniel replied coldly.

"What?! Who in Easthan would dare kidnap a Wilson?" Charles was in shock.

Ashton, standing beside Daniel, was stunned by the kidnapper's audacity.

Daniel handed him the phone. "Call the kidnapper. Tell him we've prepared the ransom."

Without a second thought, Ashton followed the order. The moment the call connected, Daniel used his laptop to track their location.

He quickly pinpointed their movement—they were heading toward Coastalview Mansion.

Instantly, Daniel grabbed his laptop and stormed out of the office. Ashton followed right behind him.

Within three minutes, over ten vehicles sped out of the parking lot.

Ashton spoke into the phone, keeping his tone calm. "I'm Mr. Wilson's personal assistant. We have the ransom ready. Where do we meet?"

A distorted voice responded, "Put the money in bin 15 at Eastview Park. I'll send someone to pick it up. Don't try anything stupid, and don't call the police. If you do, I can't promise your son's safety."

"You'll get the money after we speak to Railer. How do we know this isn't a prank?" Ashton asked fiercely. He was stalling for time, giving their men a chance to reach Eastview Park and Coastalview Mansion.

The kidnapper paused before replying, "Okay."

But before they could hear Kane's voice, the call abruptly ended.

Daniel's chest tightened. "Why didn't they let me hear him?"

Ashton immediately redialed, but the number was disconnected.

A text arrived moments later.

"Don't try tracking me. If you do, your son will be in danger."

Daniel's fury burned hotter. He wanted nothing more than to tear the kidnapper apart.

Just then, a notification popped up on his phone.

Checking the Wi-Fi settings, he spotted something under the family section.

"Your Beloved."

Daniel's eyes widened. That's Railer's phone nickname!

Within seconds, he pinpointed its last location.

Daniel was shocked to find that Kane's last recorded location was near Wilson Group of Companies.

An hour ago, his phone had connected to the building's network.

Did Rai come looking for me because I wasn't home last night?

Daniel clenched his jaw, blaming himself. He had forgotten to tell Railer that he wouldn't be home.

The boy was already in an insecure phase, and now, because of his carelessness, he had been kidnapped right outside the Wilson family's office building.

Who dares to take my son?

His fury burned deep, but he kept his composure.

"Ashton, check all the surveillance footage from the past hour near Wilson Group of Companies. I'm sure Rai was taken near the building."

"Got it! I'm on it!" Ashton replied, just as outraged. Someone had dared to kidnap a Wilson right in front of their own headquarters.

Meanwhile, Kane follows Roman home without caring.

He shamelessly ordered the servants to bring him ice cream and pastries—as if he owned the place.

Unlike Kane, who was completely at ease, Roman couldn't sit still. He paced the living room, feeling that something was off.

The more he thought about the plan, the more uncertain he became.

Ten million dollars is a huge amount. Why would Daniel, the most powerful man in Easthan, give in so easily?

"Are you sure this will work, Rai? What if Daniel finds out we faked the kidnapping? Who will take the blame?" Roman asked, sitting beside Kane with a worried look.

"Don't worry. Daddy is rich!" Kane said confidently.

"This isn't just about money, Rai. The man handling the ransom is only his subordinate, but I'm afraid Daniel will figure it out sooner or later..." Roman sighed.

"Relax. If he finds out, just say you invited me over to play. You're not the one taking the money, so just act clueless," Kane suggested.

Even though he didn't like Roman or his house, he had to admit—the durian crepe made by the servants was delicious.

Kane thought to himself; Mommy wasn't lying when she said the only good food she had as a child was the durian crepe!

Even though the old man hadn't revealed his identity, Kane already knew who he was.

Ever since the incident with Kate's mother, he had been researching the Bently family tree.

He had memorized their faces and recognized the old man the moment he saw him outside Wilson Group of Companies.

This is my grandfather—the one I've never met—Roman Bently!

Roman's voice pulled him from his thoughts. "Are you sure this will work?"

"It's too late to back out now. Daddy already knows about the kidnapping. Don't worry, old man!"

Roman sighed. "I guess we have no choice but to go through with it." He silently cursed himself for being foolish enough to listen to a child's plan.

Kane grinned. "Your house is beautiful, old man. Can I explore?"

"Sure. Just be careful and don't break anything," Roman said.

"Okay!" Kane replied cheerfully, skipping upstairs to explore.
