Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 39 - : Invite The Bently Family
Chapter 39 - 39: Invite The Bently Family
Mrs. Bently never failed to surprise him.
But why? Rai was her own grandson, a member of the Bently family.
How could she do this?
It was the same with Chantelle back then, and now it was happening to Rai.
There was no warmth, no family bond—just cruelty.
But why?
"Mr. Charles, send a message to the Bently family. Invite Mrs. Bently to Rai's birthday celebration in three days."
"Yes, sir."
Daniel's lips curled into a cold smile.
"Since Mrs. Bently is so fond of this ginger powder, I'll make sure she gets to enjoy it herself."

Chantelle woke up for a short moment in the hospital but quickly fell asleep again because of the anesthesia.
When she finally woke up, she wanted to leave right away. However, Russell stopped her and told her she needed to stay for a full day to be monitored.
She agreed since she also wanted to recover quickly.
Russell and Calvin wanted to stay with her and take care of her. But she refused because she didn't want anyone to investigate the people around her.
It was just one night in the hospital. It wasn't a big deal!
Chantelle had spent the whole night tossing and turning, leaving her completely drained.
Even with the help of anesthesia, she didn't sleep well.
Her dreams kept pulling her deeper, leaving her lost and confused until she found herself stuck in that painful goodbye.
She was back on that rainy day when Daniel chose to betray and leave her.
Even in her dream, she could still feel the sharp pain in her stomach, so intense that she could barely breathe...
The feeling of suffocation grew stronger until Chantelle suddenly woke up, gasping for air.
Someone was pressing a pillow over her face, trying to kill her!
Her body reacted instantly to the danger. She reached under the blanket for the fruit knife she had hidden and struck back.
She missed, but it was enough to give her a moment to breathe. As the attacker flinched and pulled back, she quickly sat up and switched on the light.
She could see it was a man. But with a mask and a peaked cap, his face was obscure.
Wait a minute... That outfit...
It was the same person who had tampered with her car earlier!
As she was lost in thought, the man pulled out a dagger and lunged at her.
Every strike was meant to kill her.
Chantelle knew how to fight, but her injured arm and weak condition made it hard to defend herself.
The man noticed she was struggling.
Excitement flashed in his eyes, and he attacked even more aggressively, wanting to end her life.
Chantelle could no longer fight back. She was barely managing to defend herself, and it was even become more difficult as time passed by.
With a sharp smack, the fruit knife slipped from her hand and hit the floor.
The attacker kicked her in the stomach. She crashed into the wall, yanking at her wounded arm. Pain shot through her, and cold sweat covered her skin.
Just as she thought this was the end, something changed.
The man in front of her was suddenly yanked back by the collar, lifted off the ground, and thrown across the room.
The man flipped over in midair and landed firmly on his feet.
His skills weren't ordinary. He wasn't just some random assassin.
Chantelle had been saved. She looked up at the person who arrived just in time.
It was Daniel.
"Daniel?"
"Ms. Bently sure has a lot of enemies!"
Daniel let out a sigh and his tone was dripped with sarcasm.
The attacker refused to back down and lunged at Daniel again. But the moment he spotted the Wilson family's bodyguards approaching, he quickly fled.
Daniel ordered Ashton to chase after him. Then, he turned back and walked into the room.
He bent down and lifted Chantelle off the ground.
Pain spread through her body. Her arm wound had reopened, and she looked utterly miserable.
But through it all, one thought never left her mind.
Daniel had saved her!

He had really saved her!
Back then, when she was falsely accused and pregnant, he didn't even try to protect her unborn child.
But now, with her new identity and appearance, he was suddenly acting righteous?
What a cruel joke!
"Do you know who wants to kill you, Ms. Bently?"
Daniel stood by the bed, looking down at her battered face.
Even though blood seeped from her wound, he didn't call a doctor.
"I'm not too sure. Thank you for saving me earlier, Daniel."
Her heart was distressed, but she quickly pushed down her emotions, not wanting him to notice it.
As she spoke, she discreetly pressed the emergency call button on the wall.
"Do you really not know, Ms. Bently?"
Daniel's expression said otherwise.
Chantelle couldn't tell what was going through his mind. She had no choice but to 'tell the truth.'
"I don't know. The only people I've offended lately are you and Kate. If you didn't send that man to put on a show, then your fiancée must be the one trying to kill me out of jealousy. Are you regretting saving me now?"
Chantelle made sure to let her resentment show as she spoke.
Daniel's face darkened immediately. His stare on her grew cold.
Sensing the tension in the room, Chantelle quickly changed the subject.
"You're at the hospital this late... Were you just passing by, or did you come because you knew I was hurt?"
"My child was sick, so I brought him to see a doctor. Who would have thought I'd stumble upon Ms. Bently being attacked?"
Daniel thought this excuse was reasonable, even though he hadn't brought the child with him.
The truth was, something about this woman felt off.
He had been restless in his study, pacing back and forth.
A nagging feeling told him something was wrong.
He followed his instincts to the hospital and ended up witnessing her assassination.
But he couldn't tell Chantelle that. She would assume he had feelings for her. Whether real or fake, she would try to use it against him.
This was beyond frustrating!
"The child is ill? What happened?"
Chantelle's heart pounded the moment she heard those words.
Kane had always been strong and healthy. How could he suddenly fall sick?
"Ms. Bently, you seem very concerned about my child."
"Oh, Daniel. You still don't get it?" Chantelle gave him a teasing smile.
"They say, 'Love me, love my dog.' I've also met Railer, the Wilson family's little one. Such a cute boy... How could I not ask when he's sick? What happened?"
