Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 117 - : What Are You Crying For?
Chapter 117 - 117: What Are You Crying For?
The Lowe family wasn't as wealthy as the Wilsons, but they were still a well-known force in Easthan's business world.
Mrs. Lowe had many admirers. She had the skills, resources, and connections to make her a powerful figure.
Ruby would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous around someone like her.
But with the marriage alliance between their families already made public, Susan was still her in-law, no matter how high her status was. She quickly composed herself and walked towards her to greet her.
Roman, who had been acting tough moments ago, shrank into a corner, too afraid to say a word.
"You're here, Mrs. Lowe. Please, have a seat..."
"Roman, go entertain Mrs. Lowe. I'll get the tea!" Ruby said with a warm smile, trying to be as welcoming as possible.
But Susan wasn't impressed.
"Oh, how interesting." She didn't even look at Ruby. With a cold scoff, she said, "Why would I need someone to entertain me in my own home?"
She walked straight in and sat on the main hall sofa.
Her secretary and bodyguards stood behind her, their presence making the atmosphere even more tense.
Ruby quickly tried to recover. "That was my mistake. I meant to thank you in person for your generosity in letting us stay here, Mrs. Lowe. I wasn't expecting you to arrive first. How rude of me!"
But Susan didn't accept the apology. Instead, she gave an order that left Ruby stunned.
"What are you all standing there? Get these unwelcome guests out of my house!"
"Yes, Mrs. Lowe!" her staff responded immediately.
"What? Mrs. Lowe, what are you doing?"
Ruby was utterly baffled when she heard Susan's order.
"Still don't get it?" Susan said in a mocking tone. "This is my house. You moved in without my permission. Be grateful I haven't called the police for trespassing, and yet you dare to question me?"
She looked at Ruby with disdain, as if watching a fool make a scene.
"Don't go too far, Susan Lowe! Your son gave this house to my daughter. Why can't we stay here if we just want to be with her?"
Roman, who had been cowering in the corner, finally sprang up when he saw the bodyguards throwing people out.
Pointing at Susan, he shouted, "It's bad enough that you won't give us the investment money. Now you're trying to take back the house too?"
Was the Lowe family really trying to profit at their expense? No way!
"Your daughter? Oh, I almost forgot about her until you mentioned it." Susan snapped at him. "That slutty Kate of yours drained Jerry's bank account last night while he was drunk. I've already reported it to the police. If you know where she is, I suggest you surrender her immediately to the police. Don't become an accomplice of her crime."
"Who are you calling a slut?" Roman shouted. "So this is how the Lowe family avoids responsibility? How despicable!"
He jabbed a finger at Susan angrily.
"You know your daughter better than anyone," Susan said coldly. "Do I really need to remind you of her past? My Jerry is young and naive. You think you can manipulate him to help your family rise again? Let me make it clear—you miscalculated everything!"
"You—!" Roman's face twisted in rage.
It felt like he had been stripped bare in front of everyone. Susan had read him like an open book. The humiliation was unbearable, and bitterness gnawed at him.
He hadn't been humiliated like this in years.

"Roman Bently, you never should have dragged my son into your schemes!" Susan insulted him harshly and gave a simple hand gesture.
Her bodyguards immediately understood. They went into the rooms and started tossing out Roman and Ruby's belongings.
"Mrs. Lowe, you said you reported Kate to the police. There must be a misunderstanding," Ruby said in a trembling voice after the shock had finally sunk in.
"Kate and Jerry truly love each other!"
Ruby couldn't just stand by and do nothing. Kate was her only child, even if she had never lived up to her expectations.
No wonder she couldn't reach Kate.
Susan was the one making things difficult.
But did Kate really take the money and run?
Even if she did, she should have at least told her.
The Lowe family was powerful. If they took legal action, Kate's life would be ruined.
"You heard me right. If you manage to contact Kate, report her to the police immediately. She stole twenty million dollars from my son—that's a crime that could land her in prison for life!"
"You can't do this, Mrs. Lowe! Kate is still a child!"
"A child? Heh!" Susan curled her lips and ridiculed Kate. "That shameless woman! After the Wilson family was done with her, she clung to the Lowes, then the Morgans. How do you even live with yourself after raising someone like that? What a joke!"
"Mrs. Lowe..." Ruby pleaded, but Susan cut her off.
"Are you leaving on your own, or should I have my bodyguards escort you out?"
"We'll leave!" Roman retorted angrily. "Susan Lowe, what makes you so special? You wouldn't be where you are today if not for the Bently family!"
Roman was furious. He grabbed Ruby and pulled her along as if heading outside.
Susan found his protective act ridiculous.
"Relied on the Bently family? That's laughable. Everyone benefited from what happened back then. Why bring up the past now?"
She crossed her arms and looked at him coldly.
"Roman Bently, I warned you long ago—the woman you married would bring you nothing but misfortune. Look at her face. It's full of bad luck. But you never listened. You treated her like a prize, even going so far as to get rid of your first wife for her. You lost your conscience for this woman, and because of that, you will never rise again."
"Susan Lowe, are you cursing me? Even if we were never meant to be together, do you really have to be this heartless?"
Susan's face darkened at his words.
"Throw them out. As far away as possible!" she ordered, losing all patience.
Roman and Ruby were thrown out of the villa in broad daylight.
Their clothes and suitcases were scattered across the ground.
It was a heartbreaking and embarrassing scene.
Ruby hit the ground hard and scraped her hands. She sat there, looking lost, as if her whole world had collapsed.
"What do we do, Roman? Kate is our only daughter. The Lowes won't let go of her. If something happens to her, how am I supposed to live?"
She had no choice but to stay by the side of men like Roman and James for the rest of her life. If Kate had married into a wealthy family, there might have been some hope.
But that chance was gone.
"What are you crying for? Get up! Haven't we embarrassed ourselves enough?" Roman snarled. "That worthless woman stole twenty million dollars behind my back. Even if she ends up dead, she brought it on herself!"
