Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 108 - : Are You Scared?
Chapter 108 - 108: Are You Scared?
Tree branches scraped her face as she swung back, leaving bleeding cuts on her once flawless skin.
Kate was now hanging dangerously by the side of the cliff.
Strong ocean waves crashed below, and the clifftop was out of reach. Panic filled her as she realized Chantelle was truly leaving her to die.
"Chantelle Bently, you wench, pull me back up now or I'll never forgive you, even in the afterlife!" Kate screamed in fear and anger.
She tried to climb up with all her strength, but it was useless because her arms and legs were bound. She also didn't dare move when the rope nearly broke as she struggled.
"What a coincidence! I also will never forgive you for killing Wesley. What's it like down there? Do you feel yourself getting closer to hell? Don't worry, you won't be here for long. Daniel will arrive soon, and do you think he'll pull you up once he knows the truth—that you're a murderer and a liar?"
"No... No, please. Chantelle, I beg you! Pull me up! If Mr. Wilson finds out I killed Wesley, he's going to kill me!"
"Oh, you're scared? Then, by all means, escape to hell. Unless you burn in hell, neither I nor Daniel will ever forgive you." Chantelle looked coldly over the edge of the cliff at Kate, whose face was as pale as a ghost.
Chantelle turned to leave before Kate could respond; she couldn't bear to look at that murderer again!
After realizing that Wesley's affection for her had driven Kate to murder him, Chantelle felt guilty and partly responsible for Wesley's death.

I'm sorry, Wesley...
Feeling down, Chantelle hugged herself and walked back to the van.
Seeing his mom return, Kane walked toward her and reached out his arms to be carried.
"Let's go home, Kane." Chantelle picked up Kane and headed for the driver's seat.
Since the abandoned warehouse they were at was in the suburbs and the van they had been kidnapped in was the only vehicle around, Chantelle decided to take it and head back to her house.
Kane seemed to notice that Chantelle was feeling sad as he hugged her and patted her back.
"Don't worry, mommy! I'll always be with you!" He said softly and Chantelle immediately felt a huge weight lifted off her chest, feeling much better.
"Good boy!" She smiled.
"Ms. Chantelle, Ms. Chantelle! Please don't go, I'm still tied up! I have done nothing wrong, so please let me go!" Steve was still tied up like a roast duck on the ground, struggling to free himself.
"You kidnapped me and my son. Do you really think I'm going to forgive you?"
"Ms. Chantelle, I was just confused... Please forgive me..." Steve begged her.
"Well, I could have let you go since you admitted your mistake, but unfortunately, you kidnapped Daniel Wilson's son. I don't know what he'll do to you when he arrives, so good luck!" Chantelle said and gave Steve a businesslike smile.
She then got into the van with Kane and drove off, leaving Steve puzzled on the ground.
What did she mean that he had kidnapped Daniel's son? He thought he kidnapped Chantelle's son...
Unless... was Chantelle Mr. Wilson's ex-wife?!
Steve had always suspected something was off about them! While struggling to free himself, he felt a deep sense of regret. He knew he needed to escape.
Steve would face a fate worse than death if Daniel, the Demon King of Easthan, found him.
"Somebody help me! Where did you bastards go? Come back!" Steve yelled in fear, hoping one of his men would come to save him. He should have let them stay with him!
Chantelle was driving the van very fast, reaching speeds of up to 160 miles per hour. She started to feel better as she drove.
In the back of the van, Kane was buckled up and watching the scenery zoom by.
"Mommy, you're getting better at driving! It feels like we're in a sports car instead of a van! Awesome!"
"Why? Are you scared?"
"I'm not scared. The faster the better! Once I get a driving license, I'll be the one to take you out to play!"
"That's a deal then! Don't forget what you said today when you grow up!"
"Of course! A promise is a promise!"
"Kane."
"Yes, mommy?"
"We have to go home now," Chantelle suddenly said seriously while glancing at Kane through the rearview mirror.
"Aren't we going back home now?" Kane asked, confused.
"We have to go back to Val Verde. Once we reach Western Hill Villa, we'll take Rai and leave, okay?"
"Okay! I'll follow you wherever you go!"
"That's my boy!"
"But mommy, can we bring my scumbag dad, too?" Kane hesitated before asking Chantelle.
His dad was indeed a scumbag, but he had treated him well.
Besides, Kane did not want to leave before inheriting his dad's wealth.
That would be such a waste!
Chantelle thought for a moment.
"Do you... like him?"
"Hmm, just a little, but I love you the most, Mommy! I was just thinking it would be a waste not to inherit his money. Daddy is really rich after all!"
"... Once we return home, you can visit him if you miss him." After some reflection, Chantelle finally expressed her thoughts.
At the end of the day, Daniel was still his father, and he had been acting responsibly lately.
It was natural for children to grow fond of their parents.
Besides, even if Kane hadn't said it, Chantelle could see that he was developing a strong bond with his father...
"What about you, mommy?"
"What about me?"
"Do you still like that scumbag?"
Kane swiftly turned into gossip mode. His eyes widened while waiting for Chantelle's answer.
"Mommy used to like him when we were young, but now..." Chantelle smiled and stopped talking with Kane because she wanted to return to Western Hill Villa quickly.
She asked Calvin to prepare their belongings in advance so they could leave immediately.
Chantelle felt out of place after her "death" and thought she would rather leave away from Daniel. However, she felt empty inside, as if she had lost something important.
Even though she was no longer young, her past still haunted her. Moreover, Daniel had never liked her.
Despite his current affection, Chantelle did not want to risk dealing with his contempt if he found out she was the woman he had hated for years.
