Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 235: Cloaks for Her Family (II)
The small cloak had a silver accent across its shoulder, which was the same color as Jojo’s hair, and also a cute flower-pattern embroidery at the bottom made out of gold thread similar to Jojo’s eyes.
The big cloak had striking crimson red accents on the shoulder similar to Kael’s eyes, and leaf-pattern embroidery at the bottom made out of violet thread.
"I remember that you’re keeping an amethyst from Ruela, so I thought you like violet-colored things," Sisi said. "I was thinking about embedding gemstones in the cloak too, but that wouldn’t last long because you guys often go to the forest, those gemstones will be scraped off and lost somewhere."
As Sisi handed the cloaks to Jojo and Kael, the boy asked, "What is this, Sisi?"
"It’s a cloak. I plan to make at least three sets for summer, autumn, and cold winter made with different suitable fabrics, but I’ve only finished the one for summer," Sisi replied. "Don’t worry, I’ll make more for you later, alright?"
"Un! Can you put it on me?"
"Sure," Sisi draped the small cloak on Jojo’s shoulders and clasped the buttons in the chest area to make sure they stayed in place. "And... done!"
"Uwaah, the cloak is... breezyyy!" Jojo twirled and jumped happily while feeling his gift from Sisi. "Daddy, Daddy, do I look like you when wearing a coat?"
"... "
"Daddy?"
Kael snapped out of his daze when Jojo grabbed his leg, waiting for an answer. He looked down and smiled at his son. "You look strong, Jojo. Just like me when I’m wearing my cloak."
"Yay! I’ll grow strong like Daddy too and protect Sisi!" Jojo said. He then launched himself towards Sisi’s embrace and hugged her tightly. "Thank you so much, Sisi! You’re the best!"
"Don’t worry, once I’m back, I’ll make the one for autumn and the very cold winter," Sisi said before she kissed Jojo’s forehead. "Be a good boy and don’t make your Daddy angry, alright?"
"Un! I promise to be good!" Jojo said before Sisi returned him to Kael’s side.
Sisi then stood up and helped Kael drape the cloak over his wide shoulders. It was difficult since Kael was so tall, so Sisi had to tell him to lean down.
Then she clasped the buttons on the shoulder and was relieved to see that it fit him perfectly.
Sisi patted the cloak a few times and said, "Look at you, so handsome and strong. I bet any woman would fall in love with you, right?"
The implication was clear as day. Sisi wanted Kael to move on eventually, because if the water from Origin Spring actually worked and Jojo’s eyes were cured, then Sisi would stay inside the faerie land forever, and there would be no future for them.
Hearing that, Kael quickly hugged her tightly, pulling her into his embrace and kissing her deeply right in front of their son and the faeries.
The faeries gasped because their darling wasn’t supposed to fall in love, and they were also scared of what would happen if she ended up with this cursed being.
But nobody dared to interrupt, because the Dusk Star was emanating a strong dark and blood-red aura, as if he couldn’t wait to swallow their darling whole and make sure she never left his side.
Sisi knew that it was improper to be kissed by Kael in front of the faeries. But she also knew this might be their last kiss, because the future was unknown.
She just wished that Kael would forget about her, because she was doing this for Jojo. She didn’t mind having her heart shattered to pieces as long as Jojo could live a normal life. He had suffered enough after all.
Meanwhile, Kael was savoring every second he spent in this kiss. One second felt like an hour, and he wished time could freeze just like this.
He tried his best not to cry. It was pathetic to cry, especially in front of his beloved. But he couldn’t handle this heartache.
He was thinking about staying silent while watching Sisi return to the faerie land, but when she showed the cloak she personally knitted for him and his son, Kael realized that he had been completely captured.
His entire being—his body, soul, mind, and heart. Everything about him only wanted this woman and nobody else.
If Sisi and he were truly not destined to be together, then he’d stay in this small wooden hut she made and wait for eternity for her to come again.
Slowly, a tear slipped from the corner of his eye and landed on her cheek. Sisi could feel the wet tear on her cheek, but said nothing as she knew that Kael was heartbroken.
The kiss lasted a long while until Jojo got curious and pulled Kael’s cloak a few times. "Daddy, Daddy? Is Sisi still there?"
Kael reluctantly parted their kiss and replied, "Yes, son. Sisi is still here... and I wish she could stay here forever..."
"Awww, Daddy, don’t be sad! Sisi said she just wants to do something. She’ll be back soon!" Jojo said cluelessly, not knowing that Sisi might never stay by his side once he could see again.
"Jojo is right. I’ll be back... soon..." Sisi said while staring at Kael. She patted his chest a few times, silently comforting him for their separation. "Don’t be too harsh on yourself, Kael. You deserve a happy ending too."
Kael gritted his teeth and held her hand. His finger gently caressed the flower ring on Sisi’s ring finger and said,
"I am a stubborn man, Sisi. If I can be honest, I want to keep you by my side for every single second. I wouldn’t even close my eyes, just to make sure you’re still there."
"I am selfish, and I don’t care what others think of me as long as I get what I want. But I also love you... I love you so much that I don’t have the heart to force you and hurt you. I don’t want to be a monster in front of my family."
