Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 219: Departing (I)
"The Dawn Star, he..." Healer Roro gulped. "He is also not allowed, darling. I know he is an innocent boy, but he’s still a cursed being nonetheless. I’m afraid the dark energy coming from him will disrupt the fragile balance in the area around the faerie land."
"Besides, he cannot enter the faerie land because he has no faerie blood in him. The entrance is only the size of an adult human thumb, and no magic can ever change the size of it."
"I cannot leave him alone in here. His father is very busy dealing with kingdom matters, and he’s a blind child. Unless he has full protection, then I cannot leave..." Sisi insisted.
What she said wasn’t without reason, and the faerie elders knew it.
So they looked at each other, as if trying to gauge the risk of letting their darling bring the Dawn Star to the faeries’ territory.
"Even if you can bring him to the entrance, he still cannot enter the faerie land, darling," General Gugu said. "And you cannot bring anyone else except for him. The Dusk Star is too dangerous and his aura will weaken the faeries’ health. Other humans cannot be trusted as well, because the secret area surrounding the faerie land bears many unique treasures—from one-of-a-kind medicinal plants, and if you dig into the soil deep enough, you’ll also see super rare minerals that can be sold at a high price in the human kingdom."
"Then what if we allow Kael and Jojo to wait a bit far from the secret area of the faerie land? Surely it is permitted for them to camp somewhere far away, right?"
General Gugu and Healer Roro looked at each other again and finally nodded in unison.
"If that’s the case, then it’d be fine. They’ll have to camp far from the entrance of the faerie land. But there’s no rule dictating that they can’t roam Roc Forest."
"After all, the Dusk and Dawn Stars are part of the ecosystem to maintain the balance. We, the faeries, are just wary of their dark energy, because the faeries are really fragile, and so is the land we live in," General Gugu added. "Please understand our situation, darling. We don’t hate them; we are just protecting our territory from getting corrupted."
"I understand. I may have no memories of the faerie land, but I assume I was born there as well, right? I also have the responsibility to protect it, since it’ll be my home in the future."
"Ah, I’m glad that you understand, darling. Well, we can return to the faerie land anytime you want. We can even set out now!"
"How long does it take for us to reach the secret area if we are going as fast as possible?" Sisi asked. "I’ll be riding on the Dusk Star’s back as we go there, and he is pretty fast."
"Then it’ll only take two days to reach the area, darling! Then we will have to travel another half a day until we finally reach the entrance to the faerie land."
Sisi had no intention of staying inside the faerie land for longer than necessary, so she would just take the water and then leave immediately. She didn’t want to make Jojo wait, nor did she want to make Kael abandon his king’s duty for too long.
Besides, she would have to eventually return and live permanently inside the faerie land anyway, and she was confident that Grandma Tree could be a little more patient.
"Then we’ll set out by tomorrow morning. We still need time to prepare," Sisi said before she got up. "Now, let’s go and talk with Kael and Jojo."
"Yes, darling!"

Kael carried Jojo as they walked around the garden in the Queen’s courtyard. It had become their habit at this point, because Kael wanted to give Sisi some space for herself so she wouldn’t be exhausted while taking care of Jojo.
Kael’s thoughts were complicated as he didn’t know what to do next. He had shown his sincerity, and Sisi already wore the flower ring he gave last night on her ring finger.
Sisi didn’t show any intention of taking that ring off, so Kael assumed that she would keep it as if it were a wedding ring.
But she would still leave in the end, so did that mean all of his sincerity amounted to nothing for her?
Kael felt wronged, because she was the first woman—and definitely the last—to whom he had ever confessed his deep love.
He hoped that Sisi would change her mind about her decision, but her decision was steel-solid, and there was nothing he could do to change it.
Kael stared at his son who was beaming with joy. His golden eyes were indeed intimidating. If he didn’t have Sisi and Kael by his side, Kael knew that Jojo would have suffered the same fate as he had.
But now, even blindness didn’t stop Jojo from feeling joy all around him. He was genuinely happy to make new faerie friends, since he had been isolated all these years.
So, was it really worth discarding all this joy just to get his vision back?
Kael knew the answer was a big no, but Sisi refused to listen...
"Daddy, can you tell me if Sisi was happy just now?" Jojo suddenly asked.
"Huh? What do you mean? She sounded happy to you, right?"
"Mm! But... her hand that fed me was shaking. So I thought she must’ve been sad for some reason," Jojo said. "I’m worried, Daddy. I don’t want Sisi to be sad, because you and her are all I have..."
Kael was astonished by his son’s observation. He was even more perceptive than Kael had been when he was five.
He was thinking of a good response to that question. Normally, he should lie so Jojo wouldn’t worry about Sisi. But he didn’t feel like it.
He felt that Jojo deserved to know the truth.
"She... she is—" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Kael! Jojo!"
Sisi’s voice stopped the conversation between the father and son. Kael turned to Sisi, who was running toward them.
