Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 217: Jojo’s New Friends (I)
Unfortunately, this picture-perfect family of three didn’t last long, because Diane knocked on the door, bringing breakfast for them.
Kael got up first and then opened the door for her.
"Oh my—" Diane was startled seeing the Beast King, but a smile slowly flourished on her face as she glanced at the bed and then at the king. "I can return later if you’d like, My King."
"No need, we are... done," Kael said ambiguously, which made the raccoon maid almost squeal out of joy.
Of course she was happy; her king and her mistress seemed to be in a great relationship right now, to the point that they were sharing a bed!
Diane rushed to put all the food on the table and excused herself, not wanting to disturb the time between the Beast King and the Mistress.
But there was no such intimate time left, because the moment Kael opened the door, the trio faeries flew in and reported to Sisi that the elders wanted to meet her.
"Tell them to wait. I’ll have to help Jojo wash his face first," Sisi said as she carried Jojo to the bathroom.
Once they were done, Sisi sat at the table while putting the boy on Kael’s lap. She began feeding Jojo slowly, and Jojo obediently ate whatever was given, because he was very happy to have his father and Sisi by his side since last night.
"Um... darling... about the elders..." Crush Tutu raised her voice because she felt that their darling would take a while to feed Jojo.
"Let them in," Sisi finally said, and the faerie elders—General Gugu and Healer Roro—finally flew into the main chamber.
The elders were surprised and alarmed seeing the Dusk Star and Dawn Star in the same room, sitting at the table while their darling was feeding the boy with golden eyes.
The boy was cute—or maybe cute was an incomplete statement. He looked innocent and obedient, especially with his white hair and twitching wolf ears. Had it not been for his ominous golden eyes, even the faeries would have been fooled into thinking that he was not the Dawn Star of this era.
Nevertheless, the elders had come to an agreement last night to act cordial in front of the cursed beings, because their darling really liked them.
"I’m sure that the young faeries have told the two of you about the request, right?" Sisi opened the conversation while feeding Jojo.
"Yes, darling. But we want to hear it from you directly, because Grandma Tree simply sent us here to fulfil your request," Healer Roro said.
Jojo’s ears twitched when he heard a new voice near him. "Sisi, is that a new faerie friend?"
Sisi chuckled. "Yes, they are new faerie friends. They came from far away just to visit you, Jojo."
"Ohhh!" Jojo excitedly turned his head toward the direction of the voice he heard before and said, "Hello! My name is Jojo! Um... I’ve been a good boy, so I can hear faeries, but I’m happy to make new friends!"
The faerie elders stared at the boy with golden eyes who joyfully greeted them as if they weren’t enemies. Then they looked at the Dusk Star who was eating his meal in silence, since he couldn’t see faeries, then back to their darling who was still feeding the boy.
"As you can see, Jojo’s golden eyes somehow made him lose his vision. He’s completely blind right now, and I’d do anything to make sure that he can see again," Sisi said before she slowly turned her head toward the faerie elders. "As long as Jojo gains his vision back, then we can... talk about visiting the faerie land."
"Oh? Are we going to the faerie land next, Sisi?" Jojo asked excitedly. "Then I want to go too! I want to play with many faeries!"
Sisi’s lips thinned, knowing that Jojo could never do that. But telling him the cruel truth would make the boy cry and refuse to get treated, so Sisi had to lie. "Sure, though the faeries are very small, so you have to be careful with them, okay?"
"Okay! I promise to be careful!" Jojo said.
"But—" General Gugu was about to say that not even humans were allowed to enter, let alone a cursed being like Jojo.
However, before he could say anything, his darling gave him a warning look, and the faerie general zipped his mouth immediately.
"But where are the trio faeries, Sisi? I want to play with Tutu, Keke, and Dodo again!"
"They said they have something to do and will return later. Why don’t you talk with the new faeries instead?" Sisi suggested before staring back at the faeries. "Go and introduce yourselves."
The faerie elders were overwhelmed by how their darling was extremely attentive toward this boy, to the point that neither the general nor the healer was able to argue about their closeness.
In the end, they complied and introduced themselves as if they were about to make friends.
"My name is Roro, nice to meet you."
"Uh... I’m Gugu."
"Ohh! Now I have five faerie friends! Tutu, Keke, Dodo, Roro, and Gugu! Don’t worry, Daddy said that I’m very smart, so I will remember your names!"
Jojo was overly excited because he had never had friends before. Sure, he was surrounded by love from his father and Sisi, alongside being treated well by the guards and the maids.
But he had been isolated his whole life and became eager whenever the prospect of making a lot of friends came to mind.
Jojo opened his palms and said, "Faeries, can you sit on my palm? That means we are making a handshake, right? Sisi told me once that a handshake is the first step to knowing each other!"
...
General Gugu and Healer Roro slowly flew and landed on the boy’s palms, and then Jojo beamed with joy. "Sisi, once we are in the faerie land, I can make friends with a hundred and um... what comes after a hundred?"
Sisi giggled. "You’ll make friends with all of them, Jojo. They like to take care of a good boy."
