Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Stubborn Little Faerie

Crush Tutu pouted whenever her grandpa mentioned that she was still young.

True, she was only a hundred years old and not yet an adult. But she had always been the leader of the youth camp! In fact, she had become the president of the Faerie Girl Scouts twenty years ago!

Crush Tutu was confident that she could go on a mission to find their Darling without any hiccup.

"Grandpa, I can bring my friends with me! We’ll be safe!" Crush Tutu insisted. "Besides, we’re invisible to adult beastmen and humans! Nothing will harm us along the way!"

What Crush Tutu said wasn’t entirely wrong.

Faeries were safe to roam around Roc Forest because of the divine protection from Grandma Tree.

They were invisible to the eyes of adult humans and beastmen, because their hearts were no longer pure.

But children—especially those below five—still had pure hearts. Even if they meant no harm, there had been a few cases where faeries were captured by those kids and put inside glass jars as decorations or a pet.

The faeries would be trapped inside for at least a few years until the child grew up and forgot about faeries, allowing their fellow faeries to come and free them.

Elder Toto was worried that his granddaughter would encounter those mischievous children and get captured. She was his only granddaughter, and he would be damned if something happened to her.

"No means no. Go back to your station and help your friends unfold those petals," Elder Toto said sternly. Crush Tutu could only grumble as she left.

Elder Toto sighed. His granddaughter had grown more and more uncontrollable, and he didn’t know if he could stop her in the future.

"Elder!"

Elder Toto turned toward General Gugu, who rushed to his side.

"Elder, you received the message from Grandma Tree, right?" General Gugu asked. "Grandma wants us to find our Darling soon." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"I know, but we can’t abandon our task of maintaining the forest. Spring will be extremely busy, so it’s better to dispatch all the soldiers we have," Elder Toto instructed. "We can also send out the reserve faeries. The autumn and summer faeries are still free for the time being, right? Send them to search for our Darling as well."

"Yes, sir!" General Gugu rushed back to his division to expand the search.

Elder Toto looked up at the ancient tree and sighed again. "When will you take me back, Grandma? I’m getting a little exhausted here."

Crush Tutu grumbled as she pulled the petals one by one. She was unhappy that her plan to persuade her grandfather had failed once again.

She knew it was for her own good. After all, she had never left the Faerie Land where Grandma Tree had a full protection for them, but she really wanted to find their Darling.

She knew her grandpa was exhausted after managing the faeries for so long. The faeries weren’t very obedient to him, so there were always countless troubles along the way.

But if their Darling returned, then her grandpa wouldn’t need to manage them anymore, and he could finally retire!

’Ah, I can’t let this continue. I need to find our Darling!’

Crush Tutu burned with determination as she resolved to find their Darling as soon as she finished peeling these petals.

She looked around and spotted her two best friends.

Jan Keke, a female faerie with dragonfly wings who could fly extremely fast, was busy helping the bees pollinate the flowers.

Below her was Bold Dodo, a male faerie whose body was almost the same size as his wings. He couldn’t fly very fast, but he was incredibly strong, so he was usually tasked with pushing large insects to work faster on the ground.

’Grandpa said the outside world is dangerous. Maybe that’s true if I go alone. But if I go with my friends, nothing bad will happen... right?’ Crush Tutu thought as she flew toward Jan Keke first.

Jan Keke had just finished her daily task of pollinating flowers with the bees when Crush Tutu approached her.

"Keke! Jan Keke!"

Jan Keke lifted her head and smiled. "Oh, Tutu! Are you done with your task? Want to play in the field later?"

"Keke, I have something much more fun—and important—than playing," Crush Tutu said. "Listen, I’m thinking of leaving the Faerie Land to find our Darling!"

Jan Keke’s eyes widened. "Tutu, we’re still very young. Isn’t it dangerous to leave the Faerie Land?"

"We’ll be fine if it’s the three of us," Crush Tutu persuaded. "Besides, you can fly really fast. I’m sure nothing can catch you!"

Jan Keke giggled at the praise. "I still don’t think it’s a good idea. But I can’t let you leave alone. And I’m sure you will leave, right?"

"Right," Crush Tutu nodded without hesitation. "Grandma Tree just gave us the message to find our Darling. It’s our responsibility!"

Jan Keke sighed.

Her best friend had always been willful and stubborn, but her intentions were always good. Besides, they all missed their Darling and worried that something might have happened to her, preventing her from returning to the Faerie Land.

In the end, Jan Keke nodded. "I’ll go with you. But you must not make a fuss about it, or your grandpa will forbid you from leaving."

"I know," Crush Tutu nodded. "I’m doing this for his sake too!"

"Then you should talk to Bold Dodo as well. We need as much help as possible," Jan Keke said. "I’ll go home and pack. Meet me here at night so we can leave."

"Sounds good. I’ll talk to Dodo now," Tutu said as she rushed toward Bold Dodo, who was still busy pushing a lazy Hercules beetle.

"Dodo! Dodo!"

"Urrghhh—ugh! Oh, hi, Tutu!" Dodo stopped pushing, and the lazy beetle slid down the rock once again. "Do you need something?"

"Dodo, I need your help to find our Darling! Keke and I are leaving tonight. Will you come with us?" Crush Tutu asked.
