Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 139: Saved by the Witch (I)
Sisi didn’t answer him.
She pushed her power to its limit, commanding vines to bind every inch of Kael’s body until only his head remained free.
The strain of power she used made her lightheaded. Just as she had expected, she still couldn’t summon the colossal vine that slumbered deep beneath the earth. She had only managed that once—when she awakened her power against Mr. Piker.
Perhaps, she needed to be angry to summon that single vine again.
Nevertheless, this was enough to make a statement.
She had restrained Kael with every vine she could sense around her. The rest depended on him—on whether he would react as she anticipated.
At first, the high-ranking beastmen froze in shock.
Then panic erupted among them
"My King!"
"Help the King!"
"He’ll suffocate, set him free immediately!"
They rushed toward Kael, stronger warriors attempting to tear the vines apart. But the vines were unnaturally resilient—impossible to destroy without fire.
And no one dared burn the Beast King.
They were in dilemma.
They feared of scorching him, but if they left him bound long enough, he might suffocate to death.
"My King! I—I’ll save you!" Garou cried out, abandoning all composure. Though he had already been sentenced to death, he lunged forward and bit into the vines with all his strength. He did it many times until he squeezed the last bit of his strength.
None of their efforts showed any result.
Kael watched his subordinates scramble around him in chaos.
No, he wasn’t with pain, but he was undoubtedly irritated.
His sensitive nose was overwhelmed by their scents, too many bodies crowding too close, and they were all basically alphas in their respective tribes, making their scents stronger than weaker beastmen.
Jojo glanced at his father, then up at Sisi."Sisi... are you angry with Daddy?"
"He’s being unreasonable," Sisi replied calmly. "But I bound him to prove something. Just watch, alright?"
Jojo nodded.
He wasn’t worried in the slightest. He knew his father was far stronger than anyone present, including Sisi.
He studied Kael’s expression and giggled. "Daddy is angry."
"Because of me?" Sisi asked.
"No," Jojo said cheerfully. "Because they’re noisy and smelly!"
Jojo was right.
He hated everyone’s scent equally.
To him, only Jojo’s familiar scent and Sisi’s mysterious floral scent were tolerable. In fact, Kael showed more patience toward Sisi’s faintly rotten undertone than he ever did toward the stench of the other beastmen.
Kael finally snapped, overwhelmed by the noise and the stench of those stinkbugs crowding him.
"GET BACK. ALL OF YOU!"
His roar shook the training grounds. Every beastman dropped to their knees instantly.
Kael glared down at them, scorn clear in his eyes.
"Do you truly believe I need your protection?" he scorned. "Do you think your king is so weak that a few vines can restrain him?!"
No one answered.
Some believed that the king wouldn’t be harmed over a bunch of vines, but they followed their instinct to help their king anyway.
While some weren’t entirely convinced that the King could actually break free, since they couldn’t even do anything about the vines.
"Tsk." Kael clicked his tongue. "You bastards need constant demonstrations to remember who I am. Pathetic."
He flexed his body, and with a thunderous crack, the vines exploded outward, snapping apart like brittle twigs.
Kael stood unharmed—no bruises, no marks.
Awe swept through the crowd.
"I become the Beast King not because of tradition or bloodlines like humans," Kael declared. "I rule because I have the strength to do so. I’ve conquered your tribes, one by one."
He glanced at Jojo.
"And my son will be even stronger when he grows," His gaze hardened as he scanned the crowd. "I will not tolerate anyone questioning the Crown Prince’s worth. Ever."
Only then did he turn to Sisi.
"Now tell me," Kael said coolly, "why did you bind me? I told you—I was merely disciplining a defiant subordinate."
Sisi smiled.
Everything had unfolded exactly as she intended. Fortunately, Vestor had briefed her on the situation in the court—though he had kept Kael’s intention to make her queen from her, believing it unnecessary to mention.
"Because I wanted to make a point," she said lightly. "I used all my strength to restrain you—and you broke free effortlessly."
She tilted her head."If my full power can’t even scratch you, how could I possibly charm or control you with a spell? If I am that powerful, I would’ve make you bow down and kiss my feet, right?"
The words were spoken casually, like a trivial fact.
But they struck hard.
Silence fell as the implication settled in.
Yes, the Beast King had shattered an impossible bind with sheer force alone. The idea that a witch could control his mind now seemed laughable.
Sisi shrugged, satisfied.
She didn’t even know how to cast charms—but if claiming the title of witch helped solidify Kael’s authority, she was willing to bear that stigma.
She wanted the best for Jojo, and that required Kael’s rule to remain unshaken.
As long as Kael was respected, that respect would one day fall upon Jojo as well.
Kael stared at her unblinking, while possessiveness flickered in his crimson eyes.
Kael knew that she had protected his authority, but at the cost of her own reputation.
’Why would she do that?’ he wondered. ’Does she truly care so little about how she’s seen... just to strengthen my position?’
For the first time, Kael suspected that Sisi didn’t hate him as much as he’d believed.
Perhaps... she even cared.
"So there’s no need to further ’demonstrate’ your power," Sisi continued calmly. "The court has already witnessed it."
She pointed toward Garou. "There’s no reason to execute that young man. Let this be a lesson—he should stop running his mouth as if he’s ready to die, especially when he was trembling just moments ago."
Kael snorted.
His goal had been achieved. With Sisi’s help, there was no longer a need for blood.
"I’ll spare your life," Kael said. "But do not mistake this for mercy. You will not go unpunished."
Garou dropped flat to the ground, prostrating himself.
"Th-thank you, My King! I will cherish this chance with my life!"
