Modern Cultivation : The Strongest Couple Bonded by Vampire System-Chapter 675: Chaotic Brawl
The officer turned his back as if he had already lost interest.
The landing craft's hatch began to close.
Its engines roared, kicking up gray dust that swept across the captives' legs, then the ship lifted, rising fast into the thin sky.
One by one, the other ships did the same.
The ground trembled as the last craft pulled away.
At first, people look around, waiting for someone to make the first move. Then small groups began to form, each gathering with their own species.
While a few lone individual tried to attach themselves to anyone who looked strong.
From a distance, Alice could see multiple tall silhouette.
They were dark pillars, uneven in height, spaced far apart.
Between them were faint lines that could have been roads.
Whispers spread as more eyes noticed them.
"Towers…?"
"Maybe supplies are there."
"Or other prisoner."
Alice did not join the discussion.
She simply make a gesture for other fairy to follow, heading in the direction of the closest tower. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Everyone, let's go."
A few heads snapped toward her. But they quickly focused back to their own task.
Three figures with small wings pushed through the crowd toward her. Their eyes were filled with determination..
Alice caught their gaze and gave a small nod.
"We go first. Be careful."
They did not answer out loud, but they shifted into position around her.
Suddenly a loud rumble could be heard.
Many came from the edges, like hunters closing a net.
Some wore torn armor plates strapped with wire, others had cloth wraps around their fists, and a few beastkin with thick horns walked at the front.
One of them, a broad human with a shaved head and a scar across his lip, looked at Alice's.
"Oh a fairy race," he said. "Give everything you have now, and we will make sure you all fed."
"We brought nothing," she said. "Move."
The scarred human laughed, "You still had your body."
"Take them!"
BAM!!
The first hit came from the side, a piece of metal pipe swung toward a fairy's legs.
The fairy jerked back, but someone grabbed his wing and yanked hard, pulling him off balance.
In the same instant, a horned beastkin come at Alice, leading with his shoulder like a battering ram.
Alice stepped aside, caught the beastkin's arm, and twisted, using his own momentum to drive him into another attacker.
BAM!!!
Bodies slammed together, and the dust under their feet turned into a cloud.
The area exploded into chaos.
It's not just alice group that being attacked, other also in the same situation.
New prisoners panicked and fought back, while old prisoners pressed in, confident and organized.
Without abilities, it became a primitive fight.
Fists, elbows, knees, and whatever scrap could be used from the ground.
A beastkin with broken horns headbutted a man so hard the man's head exploded like water melon.
An insectoid with clipped wings used the sharp edge of a broken plate like a knife, stabbing for ribs, while someone else swung a rock tied to cloth like a crude flail.
Alice kept moving, never letting herself get surrounded from behind.
She knocked one attacker's pipe away, drove her palm into his throat, and took his balance before he could recover.
But there were too many coming at her.
One of the fairy race cried out as two old prisoners grabbed both his wings and pinned him, trying to tear it like trophies.
Another fairy tried to help, only to get dragged down by a beastkin who wrapped an arm around his neck and squeezed.
Alice's eyes sharpened.
"Split, Now."
She may have trained in martial arts following Alex's training, but the other fairy were to dependent on their powers.
The fairy race hesitated for a heartbeat, then obeyed.
Using their wing, they flew to the air.
But not everyone succeed.
One kicked off the ground and shot upward, taking a fist to the ribs but still rising out of reach.
Another dove low, slipped under a swinging pipe, then launched straight up, using the confusion as cover.
The third fairy was still pinned.
BAM! BAM!
Alice surged forward, grabbed the attacker's wrist, and wrenched it sideways until the pipe clattered to the ground.
She followed with a short punch to the jaw, then a kick to the knee that made the man fold.
The fairy ripped free, wings trembling, then shot into the air without looking back.
Alice did not blame him.
The fight become even more chaotic, Alice were separated from the fairy.
A shadow moved at her side, A Khaldrin.
He was smaller than most, silver skin smeared with dust.
He swung a sharp shard of stone like a dagger, lipping it into gaps and pulling it back before anyone could grab him.
He glanced at Alice once, then shifted closer.
"Let's cooperate it seem your race is hunted here just like us."
Alice nodded. An extra ally was better than one more enemy.
The Khaldrin moved with her, keeping his body half-turned so he could watch both sides.
He did not waste energy. He cut, stepped back, then cut again, always aiming for vital part or legs.
A man rushed Alice with a chunk of metal like a club.
Alice slid in instead of backing away. Her left hand slapped the arm off line, her right fist went straight into the man's throat.
BAM!!!
When he staggered, she drove her elbow into his face and shoved him down.
Two more came at her from the front.
She stepped to the side, grabbed the first by the wrist, and yanked him into the second.
Their heads cracked together.
Before they could recover, she stomped the nearer one's knee and sent him collapsing.
The dust was thick now.
People were coughing, screaming, and swinging blindly.
The Khaldrin's shard flashed again and again. Each strike always resulted in one bodies.
But his breathing started to change.
He was expert at fighting, but his body could not keep up.
"Left!" he barked.
Alice turned and saw a beastkin with heavy horns charging like a bull, using the crowd as cover.
