Alex's white flame flared harder as he charged in.
A dark arm snapped toward him.

It hit the space in front of him again and forced him back like he ran into a wall.
Another arm followed right after.

Alex steadied himself, teeth clenched. Even with his ability, finding way in is too hard.
He either have to pay too much, or ask for Vesa's help, something he want to avoid.
Her known presence would put him and MingYue as number one target in the universe.
Mingyue was in front of Olivia now, but she was already losing her momentum.
Her twin sword already began to crack.
She still have a lot of lifeforce, but run out of idea.
Blood floated out of her mouth, then got caught by stray threads and stuck there like beads.
Olivia's dark arms lifted again.

They came down like pillars, aiming to crush Mingyue completely.
Alex's eyes widened. "NO!!!!"
Since he cannot beat the block alone, he decided to do it another way.
He looked at Saryx.
Saryx was still recovering from the hit, lightning crawling over his scales, eyes locked on Olivia like a predator.
Alex vanished, He appeared right beside Saryx.
"Saryx!" Alex shouted.
Saryx's eyes flicked once.
Alex grabbed his arm, then pulled with all his strength, throwing him toward the incoming arms.
"Block them!" Alex roared. "And thank you for your service!"
Saryx were caught off guard, but he still moved.
The dark hand doesn't care is he willingly be there or not.
CRACK!!!
Lightning exploded outward from Saryx's body. A wide arc of lightning spread like a wall.

Two dark arms slammed into it.
The lightning craacked.
Saryx's scales hissed as the black flame tried to eat into him..
Alex was already gone.

He flashed forward, using the gap Saryx created.
The moment he arrived near Mingyue, he swung his warhammer upward.

The hammer hit the space above her and detonated into white flame, blowing the pressure off her head and forcing the crushing arms to miss by a hair.
Mingyue's body dropped.
Alex caught her by the shoulder and pulled her beside him.
Her face was pale, but already began to recover.
"You're late," Mingyue said, voice rough.
"We need to find way to escape."
Alex raised his warhammer and planted himself in front of her.
Olivia's eyes locked onto them.
Her expression was still calm, but the malice was thicker now.
"You're protecting her?" Olivia said. "How touching."
Four more dark arms appeared.
BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!!!
They came in different angles, making sure they have no spot to dodge.
Alex swung once.
BOOM!!!
White flame exploded outward and pushed the first arm back.
The second arm hit his ribs.
Crack.
Pain shot through his body.
The third arm hit his shoulder and numbed his arm for a split second.
Alex gritted his teeth and forced the hammer up anyway.
The fourth arm came down, aimed to crush his skull.
Alex twisted and raised his warhammer.
BOOM!!!
White flame exploded upward and forced the arm off-line.
The hit still scraped past him and tore a line across his armor. His shoulder went numb again.
Mingyue grabbed his sleeve. "Move."
Alex did not argue.
He stepped back, dragging Mingyue with him, trying to pull distance and aim to escape the system.
Olivia followed.
Swossh!!!
Her dark arms stretched behind her, then reshaped.
The arms thinned and sharpened.
They turned into spears made of dark flame.
Swossh!!! Swossh!!! Swossh!!!
Three spears shot forward at the same time, each one aimed at a different angle.
One for Alex's head.
One for Mingyue's chest.
One for their legs, to pin them.
Alex's eyes widened.
He shoved Mingyue away.
BAM!!!
The shove forced Mingyue out of the kill line.
Alex raised his hammer to block.
BOOM!!!
The first spear hit and exploded. The shockwave smashed into Alex and tossed him backward.
The second spear slipped past his guard and stabbed into his side.
Crack.
His armor split, and the spear burned into him like it was eating through flesh.
Alex gritted his teeth and yanked himself free, tearing away from the spear before it could anchor him.
Mingyue did not stand still.
She raised her palm, Purple frost gathered in her hand, then unfolded.
Purple ice lotuses bloomed around Alex in a circle, each one spinning slowly like a shield.
The third spear hit.
CLANG!!!
It struck the lotus shield and stopped for a split second.
Then everything detonated.
BOOM!!!
Purple ice shattered into dust.
White flame scattered.
Dark flame expanded like a storm.
The explosion ate the nearby debris and turned it into nothingness. For a moment, the world around them was empty.
Alex's body vanished inside the blast.
Mingyue's heart tightened. "Alex!"
The dust cleared.
A blob of blood shot out of the explosion, spinning through space like a comet.
The blood twisted, thickened, then started to rebuild itself.
Bones. Flesh. Armor.
Alex's body regenerated mid-flight, as the explosion only delayed him for a breath.
He did not waste even a second.
He grabbed Mingyue's wrist the moment he reformed and yanked her into motion.
"Keep moving," Alex said, voice rough.
Mingyue's breath was tight, but she nodded.
Olivia chased them without slowing.
Swossh!!!
She appeared behind them.
Another spear formed in her hand, longer than the last, the tip shaped like a fang.
Thrust!
Alex swung his hammer backward.
BOOM!!!
The clash shattered a line of asteroids into dust, but the spear did not break.
It bent, then snapped forward again like it was alive.
Alex's arms trembled from the impact.
Mingyue raised her sword and cut downward.
SLASH!!!
Ice flared and froze the spear's tip for a heartbeat.
Olivia's dark flame surged and melted it instantly.
"Just die already," Olivia said.
Swossh!!!
She sped up again.
Two spears launched at once.
One aimed at Mingyue's head.
One aimed at Alex's spine.
Alex turned and took the spine shot on his hammer.
BOOM!!!
His warhammer cracked. White flame sputtered.
The force threw him forward, right into the path of the second spear.
