Modern Cultivation : The Strongest Couple Bonded by Vampire System-Chapter 665: Arachne Progenitor
The wall formation turned purple.
The formation that had been sealing the heart flipped at once. The pressure that was crushing the flesh changed into a pull that fed it instead.
Badum. BADUM.
The heartbeat became louder, so loud that even the guards at the border station heard it through the walls.
"What is that sound?" one guard whispered, face pale.
The other guard jumped up, knocking his chair back. "Run! Something is wrong!"
They rushed for the door. One guard tried to send an SOS, but the screen only returned static.
The whole system had been sealed.

Inside the mining facility, the chains that locked the heart began to shatter.
One link cracked.
Then another.
The formation lines around the chains flickered, and crumbled piece by piece.
The sword stabbed into the floor started to vibrate, its glow turning sharp and bright.
The blade let out a low hum.
The heart made another beat.
BADUM!!!
Veins burst out even faster than before.
It spreading across the floor like spider web.
They climbed broken pipes and metal pillars, wrapping around anything they could grab.
After the veins settled, flesh begin to form filling out all the open space. It flowed along those veins, forming muscle and tissue in layers.
Skin sealed over it last, and faint bone lines appeared beneath the new flesh like pale frames taking shape.
The entire station shook.
The ceiling cracked.
A section of the wall collapsed and exposed the chamber to open corridors filled with dead dust.
A section of the wall collapsed.
The moment the breach formed, everything was pulled toward it.
The chamber's lights flickered as cables snapped and sparks got swallowed into space.
Rannor stood still in the middle of it.
His slime body anchored to the floor.
He turned his head toward the sword.
"The Caliburn has been freed."
The sword's crystalline body began to glow.
It rose from the ground by itself.
Energy poured out of it in waves.
Each wave turned into sharp arcs that cut through the new flesh and veins crawling out from the heart.
Slice after slice, the sword carved a path through the living tissue, forcing the heart's recovery to slow down.
The space around the sword distorted.
A black figure appeared in front of it.
Rannor dropped to one knee. "Master, it's done."
Olivia stood there in black armor. Her gaze didn't move from the sword for even a second.
She reached out without hesitation.
The moment her fingers neared the hilt, the sword fought back.
The aura that had been aimed at the heart reversed and slammed toward Olivia. It was sharp, and full of hatred, like it wanted to pierce her hand and tear her apart.
"What a bad sword. You think you can choose your master? You're nothing more than a tool."
Dark energy erupted from Olivia's palm.
The sword's aura vanished where the dark energy touched, as if it had never existed. The light around the blade flickered and got swallowed.
Olivia closed her hand around the hilt.
Crimson blood spread from her palm, painting the sword in red.
The color crawled across the crystal changing it color.
The sword trembled, then it went still.
Olivia's dark eyes flickered with excitement.
"Finally my own weapon."
Badum. Badum badum.
Without the seal holding it back, the heart's regeneration surged again. Flesh spread faster, building layers, forming a chest shape around the beating core.
The station cracked, even further..
A whole section of the mining facility's outer frame snapped loose and drifted away, its braces and clamps failing one after another.
Outside in space, Alex and Mingyue were already floating.
They had left the rooftop the moment the system-wide formation started feeding the heart.
They watched from far away, keeping distance from the mining facility's.
Even from here, the heartbeat reached them.
They could feel the pressure.
Alex's eyes narrowed. "It's starting."
Mingyue's throat tightened. "Crazy they really ressurect the progenitor."
The mining facility lit up like a star.
BOOM!!!
Then it exploded.
A ring of light expanded outward, followed by a shockwave that tore through debris fields and crushed asteroid into dust.
Right after that, a presence spread across the star system.
Every living being felt it.
On planets and stations, those who survived the formation fell to their knees. Their bodies shaking as if fear come from the dept of their soul.
In open space, the battleship-sized insects that had not fully turned to ash froze, then crumbled, their remaining life force was being ripped out.
Badum. BADUM!!!
The explosion dissipate leaving behind a broken debrish with glowing fragments spinning outward like sparks from a furnace.
From the center of that debris ring, a black shape emerged.
A sphere so large that it could be mistaken as a moon.
The sphere started to tremble. A thin line appeared on its surface.
Badum.
Another line appeared, then it turned into a crack.
The crack widened into eight long splits, spreading like a sealed shell being forced apart.
White plates pushed out from inside, stacking into armor. Dark flesh followed, filling the gaps.
Veins lit up under the plates, packed with strange symbols.
"So she's the Arachne Progenitor."
Alex gulped. This was far beyond his expectations, instead of scary or gross, her presence felt sacred.
Her eight legs were covered in pristine white scales. Her abdomen was sleek and smooth, without any imperfection.
She did not have a humanoid upper body. She was just a spider.
The only exception was the head. It had a draconic shape, nothing like a normal spider.
All eight eyes were closed, making her look like she was in deep sleep.
Badum… badum…
In front of that moon-sized spider, a much smaller figure hovered in space.
Olivia held a red crystalline sword in one hand.
Her black eyes stared at the spider without fear.
Badum.
The eight eyelids opened slowly, revealing human eyes behind them.
The moment those eyes focused, space seemed to froze.
The light from the symbols under her plates began to move like living script.
The sphere's remains broke apart into dust, then froze in place as if caught by an unseen hand.
Olivia's sword reacted, The red crystal flared, and a vibration ran up her arm as the blade recognized a strong existence.
The spider's gaze locked to Olivia.
One of those human eyes narrowed slightly.
Badum.
Then the Progenitor's mouth opened, just enough to show a line of white fangs.
