Chapter 603: Black Hole

Sigma’s next teleport flickered.

His movement stopped for a fraction.

Mingyue didn’t miss it.

She dashed in.

Her swords crossed.

SWOSH! SWOSH!

Two slashes aimed for Sigma’s chest and throat.

Sigma blocked with his forearm.

CLANG!

Ice shards exploded.

His metal skin was carved, leaving a thin line.

Ice then started spreading from the wound, crawling across his arm and shoulder.

Sigma’s eyes flashed red.

His fingers moved.

A space blade formed.

It sliced toward Mingyue’s waist.

Mingyue bent backward, avoiding it by a hair.

She stepped in and stabbed straight at his heart.

BAM!

Her sword stopped midair.

Space compressed.

The distance between her blade and Sigma’s chest became distorted, like the last inch turned into a wall.

Sigma punched.

BAM!

Mingyue crossed her arms and blades to block.

The force still threw her back.

Sigma vanished again.

He appeared above her.

His fist came down.

Alex appeared at Sigma’s side.

He raised his hammer and smashed it into Sigma.

BAM!

The power sent Sigma flying out from the tower.

Since Sigma wanted to use the population to threaten Alex, Alex decided it was better to knock him out first.

Alex moved fast.

He reached Sigma before he even stopped and launched another hit.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Each strike knocked Sigma further away, until he finally left the city and crashed against a mountain.

Floating in the air, Alex looked down toward Sigma, then pointed his hammer forward.

"Now we can fight as much as we want."

Mingyue arrived at his side and raised her sword.

"You don’t think this is enough, right?

I have information about you, Alex. I know your abilities.

I found everything I can on everyone related to the Suzaku Guild."

Alex’s eyes narrowed.

"So you do have another avatar in the city."

Alex wasn’t worried about remote control.

He was sure he could seal the whole space, not allowing any signal to pass through.

But if it was another avatar, then their connection was something different.

It was on a soul level, something he still couldn’t seal.

’Wait a minute. Sigma is an evolved AI. Does he even have a soul?

Isn’t his avatar nothing more than another copy of his code?’

But seeing how confident Sigma was, Alex concluded that the avatar would do something.

Something that would destroy the city the moment it lost Sigma’s signal.

"You’re thoughtful, Sigma.

But what makes you think I care if this city of traitors survives or not?"

"90% chance everyone from the Suzaku Guild will always try to save their fellow humans if possible.

I’m sorry if this enrages you further, but what benefit will you get from killing me?"

"Just stop negotiating and fight. We will never hear what you said," Mingyue replied, then dashed toward Sigma.

BAM!!!

Space exploded with shockwaves.

The wasteland turned into an arctic land filled with ice and snow.

Space energy concentrated on Sigma’s hand.

He punched it forward.

Mingyue dodged.

The mountain behind her was pierced.

It turned into a beehive full of holes, as if the rock had been bitten out in chunks.

Mingyue didn’t slow down.

She stepped on the air and changed direction.

Her sword cut down.

SWOSH!

A line of frost ripped across the ground.

The ice tried to climb onto Sigma again, aiming to lock his joints.

Sigma’s body flickered.

He teleported half a step, letting the slash miss by a small distance.

But Mingyue followed it.

She cut the distortion point itself.

CLANG!

The space around Sigma trembled.

His next teleport stuttered.

Alex didn’t waste that opening.

He lifted his hand and drew runes in the air.

They spread out like a net.

They sank into the battlefield.

It create illussion barier that damp all sound and make other that see form outside look like nothing is changed.

It also have supressive effect agins Sigmas space abilites.

Sigma’s raised his hand.

Five symbols on his fingers lit up at once.

The barier shook.

Cracks appeared in the air, like invisible glass.

Sigma forced a space blade outward, trying to tear a path.

Alex’s eyes turned cold.

"MingYue!"

Mingyue already moved.

Last time when Sigma focused elsehwer the barrier aroudn him weaken.

She stabbed.

Swosh!

Her sword finally pushed past the invisible wall and scraped Sigma’s chest.

Ice qi surged into the cut.

Sigma’s metal skin tried to regenerate, but the ice kept biting into it.

Sigma punched at her face.

Mingyue tilted her head.

The punch passed by her cheek.

Alex appeared behind Sigma and swung his hammer.

BAM!!!

The strike landed on Sigma’s back.

The shockwave flattened the snow and turned it into steam.

The ground beneath them cracked, revealing glowing magma lines.

Sigma slid forward, then stopped midair.

His body distorted.

The metal shifted like it was alive.

A new layer formed, thicker, sharper, and shaped like armor plates stacked together.

His hand opened.

Space compressed in his palm.

Alex and Mingyue both felt it.

The air screamed.

The battlefield’s center collapsed inward for a moment, like a black hole trying to form.

Sigma smiled with his red eyes.

"You’re forcing me."

"A black hole? Do you want to destroy this planet?" Alex said.

"If you do that, the Mechalyte will join the fight."

"That’s fine for me," Sigma replied.

"Then we both can collaborate against you.

Since cooperation between us seemed impossible, I decided it’s better to keep my cooperation with the Mechalyte."

"We cannot let him finish," Alex said.

Mingyue raised both of her swords.

Ice gathered around the tips.

"It may be space energy," she said, "but how much stronger can it be in front of absolute power?"

She had seen how her brother gathered qi and shot it like a laser beam.

In her view, it was not effective or efficient, and she still thought so.

So she only copied the first part.

For the second part, she turned the energy into something else.

A huge ice shard appeared in the air.

Mingyue began gathering her ice energy inside it.

It was like creating a nuclear missile.

Only the missile became an ice shard, and the nuke became pure energy.

Mana, qi, and lifeforce surged.

Three types of energy started mixing and condensing.
