MMORPG: Rebirth Of The Strongest Assassin-Chapter 70: Golden Hammer
Sitting at one of the tables near the window, Golden Hammer caressed his pointed small beard as he was in deep thought,’ Something is off, it isn’t like everyone is speaking about him.’
The old man was looking at Requiem’s body and replaying his attack right now as best as he could, but still, none of the information he got matched this guy.
’ Is this related to the game? I don’t sense any particular body control or reflex, his habits are all over the place, which made his attack quite sluggish and easy to counter.’
’Think old man, think...’ Golden Hammer stayed in that state for several moments before his eyes lit up and realization dawned upon him.
The moment he reached that thought, he stood up and didn’t bother taking a second glance at Requiem as he muttered with certainty," He is a newbie and has no foundation whatsoever. It’s not him, but Eclipse Online mechanics are quite different than End World, so everyone had a misunderstanding."
He then raised his head, looked at the forest ahead, and sighed,’ This is no ordinary game, I have to let them know before we keep losing from all different directions.’
At the receptionist desk, Yone gazed at Overseer Rakan as he grabbed his shoulder and unable him to move with a frown," Sir Rakan, what brings you here? You rarely leave your office."
"Requiem, what are you trying to do? You are here to talk business, from what I can see. What is the meaning of killing an adventurer under my nose then?" watching one of the adventures be instantly dealt with, Overseer Rakan bellowed.
However, he did not dare attack the man before him, because he knew that if he were to take action, his end would only be similar to that of the adventure, but in a slightly different way.
"I don’t understand the meaning of your words, Rakan. Care to elaborate?" Yone tilted his head to the side, puzzled.’ Like hell I don’t, this fucker Hell had used a wooden sword so his actions do not count as attacking, he was basically framing me and I failed to notice it in time.’
Rakan pointed at Yone’s bag and slowly uttered," The adventurer’s sword was merely a wooden sword and was no threat to your safety whatsoever. Care to explain?" He smiled back.
Yone didn’t say any more words and just placed his title, Baron of Golden Gate Kingdom, before saying," Do I need to explain myself any further?"
"Because I like it. What? You have something to say about it?" Requiem laughed as he indifferently looked at Overseer Rakan. He casually brandished his dagger, creating an image of a flower before he pierced its middle, and the flower petals slowly flew and dispersed once they hit Rakan’s face.
’Acting like a street thug is truly troublesome, but I have to create such an image from time to time, so everyone be wary of me outside,’ Yone darted his eyes at the dozens of players watching the show.
Sigh...
Overseer Rakan just moved his hand before asking Yone to visit him in his office.
" How may I help you, sir Baron Requiem?" Overseer Rakan asked very respectfully as he brewed a cup of tea for himself.
Yone’s eyes lit up seeing the tea Rakan was brewing,’ Ten Black Leafs Tea, it gives 50% more EXP for a whole day. Is he crazy?’
He looked at Rakan like he was looking at a brain-dead NPC. From Yone’s past life, he came to know that NPCs were insanely intelligent and outsmarting 95% of the players was a walk in the park for them.
However, there was one thing NPCs didn’t do. And that thing was to give free stuff to players.
It should be known that when it comes to the term ’players’, it means all players, from the wealthy to the strongest to the poorest. Each thing an NPC gave, whether it be a buff, a quest, or anything of that sort, came with a price the player had to pay.
It was how the game operated, a win-win situation for both sides.
As Overseer Rakan placed the cup of tea in front of him, Yone weighed the pros and cons:’ If I accept, I’m entangled; If I refuse, then I’m free to do as I please, but I might lose potential rewards.’
Yone smiled as he drank the cup of tea in one mouthful,’ Then so be it, with risk comes reward, and both are on the same ship. If I don’t even jump on top of a ship’s deck, then I’ll never move to the next one.’
"I’d like to do my adventurer registration, I have achieved level 10 and would like to enter the capital city".
Rakan smirked and replied.
"I would surely do that for you, sir; however. Since you are a reputed Baron of the Golden Gate kingdom yourself, I don’t believe you need one to enter the capital city; all you have to do is show proof of your status, sir."
Yone slapped his forehead, hearing the guy’s reply,’ True, I have actually forgotten about such a thing since I never dreamed of becoming one before hehe.’
He was never of such privilege before, so can you really blame him?
Yone got his adventurer’s permission anyway, but as he was about to get up and leave, Rakan spoke.
"Friend, given your acceptance of my sincere gift, care to do me a favor?"
’Here it comes,’ Yone gulped. Hoping that the quest would be a chain-quest like the one he received for the assassins.
Yone nodded his head.
"That’s great to hear. Well, I won’t ask you for much, I just want you to find a certain blacksmith for me. If you manage to do it, I’ll heavily reward you." Rakan smiled, placing both his hands under his chin as he looked at Yone with a deep gaze.
Quest Name: "Forge of the Forgotten Flame"
Quest Giver: Overseer Rakan
Location: Crystalized Stone Town – Adventurer Association (Private Office)
Type: Personal Quest
Quest Type: Exploration / Investigation
Repeatable: No
Difficulty: ???
Rewards: Unknown
Penalty: None
’A certain blacksmith for you? And a personal quest at that? This is madness!’ Yone was dumbfounded as he looked at the information before him that followed right after the usual quest contents.
A personal quest was not something that could be given by any random Sam, Dick, or Nick.
It was a type of quest that only well-known NPCs could issue, and each one of those personal quests was a long chain of quests that affected two people.
The quest giver and the adventurer!
