Merchant From Earth in the Magical World-Chapter 525 - 372 Happy Collaboration_2
"Isn’t this just forcing them to rebel?"
But seeing skeletons and zombies both reaping benefits from the Eternal Domain, while their own kind was left out, a certain discomfort stirred in their hearts.
With a touch of sourness, Lord Touch of Weakness addressed Yan Xing, "Lord Yan Xing, we are also very open to the Eternal Domain conducting comprehensive trade cooperation in the Land of Corruption. It’s just that our undead in the Land of Corruption are not limited to skeletons and zombies—for example, Spectres, Vampires, Liches, and our Dread Knights... I wonder if the Eternal Domain has any products prepared for us?"
Look at this, just look... In the future, who would dare say that the undead have no desires or needs? Who would dare call the Land of Corruption the dead sea of trade? This is clearly a blue ocean! A huge, unexploited gold mine. And it has now opened up to me.
However, I did indeed prepare two business plans targeted solely at skeletons and zombies this time. After all, time was limited, and it was already impressive that I could come up with these two plans in such a short period. But even if I had business plans for other types of undead, I had no intention of revealing them right now. One must understand hunger marketing.
Skeletons and zombies are the low-end customers; they lay the foundation for the Eternal Domain’s presence in the Land of Corruption. The money needs to be earned, but not outrageously so. The pricing must be affordable. I need to make most skeletons and zombies work harder, toiling for me, so they can earn enough to regularly afford maintenance and care. This way, although skeletons and zombies don’t need to eat, they’ll have daily expenses costlier than food. Once maintenance and care become common knowledge for them over time, the Eternal Domain’s foothold in the Land of Corruption will be unshakable. As for the more advanced undead, of course, we need to provide products that match their elevated status. I’m not fond of making money off the lower working class.
Facing Lord Touch of Weakness’s question, Yan Xing said apologetically, "I am sorry, Lord Touch of Weakness. At this moment, the Eternal Domain has only completed the development of bone maintenance and muscle hydration. Products for other types of undead are still in our Alchemy Laboratory’s developmental stages and, being too advanced, are inconvenient to disclose publicly for now.
"Truthfully, establishing bone maintenance and repair hospitals and muscle hydration medical centers in the Land of Corruption already constitutes two massive undertakings.
"I believe our cooperation should proceed step by step. Once we have these two projects established throughout the Land of Corruption, I trust that many other products with unique undead characteristics can be introduced here on a large scale."
The phrase "too advanced to disclose publicly for now" echoed, sparking limitless imagination among the Undead Lords. Recalling the future undead city plans in the folders and the distinctive products Yan Xing had showcased, the Undead Lords had no doubts about his words. They looked forward even more eagerly to the products the Eternal Domain would sell in the Land of Corruption in the future.
"Yes, it is we who were too hasty, and also because the surprises Lord Yan Xing has brought us are too great," Lord Touch of Weakness said, expressing deep understanding. Now that there were no obstacles to cooperation, they continued, "How does the Eternal Domain plan to proceed with our business cooperation? Keep in mind there is no land connection between the Eternal Domain and the Land of Corruption."
Yan Xing replied, "Transportation poses no problem for the Eternal Domain. Our aerial transport capabilities and spatial teleportation abilities are sufficient to meet the initial construction demands of our cooperation.
"We plan to build airports in the territories of the thirteen Undead Lords to facilitate the landing of our transport aircraft. If you permit, we can also establish teleportation anchor points to strengthen our connection.
"The maintenance hospitals and hydration medical centers will be built first in your respective territories and then expanded to other undead territories and settlements."
Yan Xing’s cooperation plan greatly satisfied the thirteen Undead Lords.
What are these maintenance hospitals and hydration medical centers? They are strategic capital! If other Undead Lords’ skeletons and zombies want to partake in these benefits, they must first offer sufficient interests in exchange. Poor and have nothing to trade? Then join us!
It was conceivable that the thirteen undead territories would undergo an unprecedented expansion. The undead scattered throughout the Land of Corruption would gather during this migration, forming a vast, easily recruitable pool of cheap labor.
All thirteen Undead Lords agreed to construct airports in their territories.
As for the teleportation anchor point... might as well build one. After all, the Eternal Domain can come even without an anchor point.
The Eternal Domain’s full entry into the Land of Corruption received the Undead Lords’ permission.
Next is to discuss payment. And most importantly...
"I hope that you, the Lords, will allow the Eternal Domain to dispatch mineral exploration teams to the Land of Corruption and guarantee their freedom of movement and safety therein.
"When we discover mineral resources we need, the Eternal Domain will pay you a fee to contract the mining and processing of those resources.
"In the factories built by the Eternal Domain, we promise to prioritize employing Undead workers and will provide them with the remuneration they deserve.
"Additionally, the Eternal Domain will aid in constructing roads, energy reactors, and urban infrastructure in the Land of Corruption. All of these will enable the Eternal Domain to more quickly complete the construction and deployment of the maintenance hospitals and hydration medical centers.
"One more point... I hope the Lords will permit Eternal Domain Grain Tickets to circulate as currency in the Land of Corruption. I know the Undead do not need food, but Grain Tickets are currently the universal currency within our Thunder Coalition system, and using them will facilitate trade settlements between us."
There had been no trade in the Land of Corruption before, so naturally, the Undead Lords knew nothing about it. Whatever Yan Xing proposed, they simply agreed.
Of course, I didn’t take advantage of the Undeads’ current ignorance to severely exploit them in this business collaboration. All short-term benefits are minor. Sooner or later, the Undead will learn what trade truly is through commerce. My true purpose for this trip is to deeply embed the Eternal Domain in the Land of Corruption, to make the Undead reliant on us.
With the situation now open, the rest was like a courtship, with both sides amenable; discussions proceeded smoothly.
The Land of Corruption, a forbidden zone for the living, was now fully open to the Eternal Domain. The Eternal Domain gained rights to build roads, explore for minerals, mine resources, construct factories, and recruit labor there. Even establishing tax departments in the Undead territories would require personnel from the Eternal Domain to provide hands-on instruction. The thirteen Undead Lords pledged to recognize and protect all of the Eternal Domain’s industries and interests in the Land of Corruption. They also promised to urge other Undead Lords to swiftly sign comprehensive cooperation agreements with the Eternal Domain.
It could be said that Yan Xing’s visit to the Land of Corruption was a perfect success. None of the proposals he brought were rejected by the Undead Lords. Even that somewhat dubious plan for future undead city construction was approved by them in passing.
As long as the maintenance hospitals and hydration medical centers are introduced quickly, allowing us to seize the opportunity to expand our territories, anything is negotiable.
Finally, amidst the enthusiastic farewells of the thirteen Undead Lords, Yan Xing departed the Grey Mire through the portal.
Upon returning to the Eternal Domain, his first action was to create a procurement plan for expanding the industrial zone.
Labor had always been the bottleneck holding back the Eternal Domain’s development. A population of merely three million, even at full count, was far too small for the global tasks the Eternal Domain had to undertake. Even though I had outsourced many industries, I still felt a severe labor shortage. Now, the trip to the Land of Corruption has solved this problem.
The one thing the Land of Corruption doesn’t lack is Undead. Once the airports in the thirteen Undead territories are built, those skeletons and zombies can be flown to the Eternal Domain by the planeload! And there’s no need to consider their travel comfort or worry about their accommodation in the Eternal Domain. For an Undead, a coffin is a home. Stack them neatly in the cargo hold, and the Undead will have absolutely no complaints.
Road construction, farming, mining, transportation, animal husbandry... As long as the Eternal Domain provides them with proper bone maintenance and repair, and muscle hydration care, they will be the best, most uncomplaining workers in the world.
AH!
My mood, ruined by Erelado, has finally improved. It’s also time to consider building a direct road to the Land of Corruption.
Yan Xing looked at the map. The Gryphon Heart Empire was situated right between the Kingdom of Silvermane and the Land of Corruption.
