Merchant From Earth in the Magical World-Chapter 444 - 371 Yan He_1
Yan Xing’s first condition for Kayron was that the existing order of this world not be destroyed.
"Due to a minor mistake of mine, some power from our world has run amok here. I’m trying my best to rectify the situation, and offering you a medium carries even greater risks. Imposing excessive restrictions on you would be unfair. I hope you can control your power as much as possible and not create another Age of Myths."
"You can rest assured on that," Kayron replied with a smile. "I grew weary of status and fame long ago. Now, I prefer subtly manipulating people’s desires, watching them destroy themselves in their endless cravings. I know how to handle the aftermath."
Yan Xing then cautioned, "This era is completely different from any you’ve experienced. Don’t underestimate this world. It will surely astonish you when you step out from here. Don’t do anything that would put me in a difficult position."
Yan Xing’s serious tone made Kayron drop his frivolous demeanor. "Thank you for the reminder," he responded. "You wish to protect this world, so I will naturally abide by the rules you’ve established. What’s the second condition?"
Yan Xing said, "There is no second condition. You are not my prisoner. You are an existence equal to me. On the basis of the first condition, I respect your rights and freedom."
Kayron hadn’t expected Yan Xing to set only such a minor requirement. He couldn’t help but laugh. "I thought you would impose some harsh conditions. After all, for freedom, I was prepared to be exploited by you. Are there really no other conditions? This is a good opportunity."
Kayron stood up, spreading his arms as if ready to be sacrificed.
Yan Xing scoffed. "I’m letting you out merely out of pity. I can’t think of anything you have that I need. Friends should be sincere with each other. You should be clear about your position."
Yan Xing was admonishing Kayron, his words and mannerisms exuding the aura of the powerful. He knew Kayron was testing him; imposing harsher conditions would only betray psychological weakness. True powerhouses act as they please. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
As expected, Yan Xing’s attitude instantly made Kayron compose himself.
"I’m sorry... I’m just not used to having another friend. I’ll learn how to be a good friend in the future. Can you release me now?"
"Yes," Yan Xing answered.
While Yan Xing and Kayron were conversing, Chui Chui analyzed all the arrangements and magical formations within the dungeon. The conclusion was clear: the Kayron before them was not his true body. His physical form was still trapped somewhere in the Magic World, with only a fragment of his consciousness able to reach the real world. Even with a medium, his power would remain confined to the Magic World. To use magic, he would have to draw upon his Magic Power from the Magic World by consuming the medium. Without a medium, not only would he be unable to cast magic, but his very consciousness couldn’t exist in this world. Therefore, by controlling the amount of medium provided to him, he could be restrained and restricted.
"Master... my tier-two computational core has informed me that it has created a medium Kayron can use in the Eternal Domain Alchemy Laboratory."
"Give it to me," Yan Xing mentally instructed Chui Chui, reaching toward a ripple in the space beside him.
His arm passed through a rippling layer in the air. When he withdrew it, he held a glass vial. The vial was filled with a sand-like medium that sparkled with a rainbow of colors.
Yan Xing uncorked the vial, walked to the edge of the altar, and tipped it slightly, pouring out a little of the fine sand. The grains trickled from the vial, shining even more brilliantly upon contact with the air.
This so-called medium didn’t necessarily have to be made from a Witch’s blood. Using a Witch’s blood was simply because their blood contained traces of Magic Power, which could open a transmission link for Kayron. It was like a computer connecting to a network via a network cable.
What Yan Xing produced was a highly concentrated form of Magic Power, synthesized by cutting-edge refining equipment in the Eternal Domain Alchemy Laboratory. Its energy level surpassed that of any Witch’s blood by orders of magnitude.
Kayron, being knowledgeable, could tell at a glance that the contents of Yan Xing’s vial were exceptionally potent. He watched eagerly as the fine sand trickled from the vial, colorful light spilling onto the altar.
The worn runes on the altar gradually began to glow.
The ground began to tremble.
Feeling the energy from his true body steadily pouring in, Kayron grew very excited.
"It’s been a very long time since I’ve felt this way. Thank you, and I mean that sincerely. I had forgotten the passage of time, always hoping in the dark that I would see a glimmer of light. I once roamed this world, and that was the happiest time of my life..."
Kayron, perhaps realizing he’d said too much, abruptly stopped. He watched the magic circles on the altar light up layer by layer, his mind solely focused on taking that step forward as soon as possible.
The brief exchange had revealed much to Yan Xing.
It would probably be difficult for outsiders to understand Kayron’s feelings at that moment. He was like a prisoner, confined for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years, suddenly given a mobile phone with internet access. Even the most self-possessed individuals would struggle to conceal their emotions at such a moment.
Yan Xing retrieved the glass vial and sealed it with the cork.
By then, the altar was fully illuminated, its radiant light turning the once-dim dungeon as bright as day.
Following that, a torrent of fierce flames burst forth from within the altar.
