Chapter 437: Chapter 367 Witches’ Aid Society_2

With their weight kept equivalent to that of an adult human, their strength and defensive capabilities were pushed to the maximum. The shields and Tang Swords they wielded were Magic Weapons. Additionally, these battle alchemy golems had independent Magic Energy Cores, corresponding magic energy and Kinetic Conduction Systems, and a Sensory Collection System. Their comprehensive R&D cost was equivalent to an equal volume of Gold. That was quite expensive. Only through standardization and mass production could the unit cost be reduced. With so much money spent, their combat power certainly wouldn’t disappoint.

In his exchange with the enchantress, Unit 008 dominated in both strength and speed. His combat skills were overwhelmingly superior. The enchantress’s feeble attacks couldn’t even break through his Magic Shield. Soon, in the one-sided onslaught, the enchantress was struck repeatedly by the Magic Tang Sword. Her spilled blood ignited the flowers and grass in the garden.

Perhaps knowing her death was inevitable, the enchantress entered a final frenzy. Flames burst from her body. The intense heat melted her face, obliterating her features. Then, flames shot from where her face had been, like laser beams. The beams slammed into Unit 008’s Magic Shield, the splattered flames scattering in all directions, creating a beautiful, yet deadly, display of fireworks.

However, Unit 008 didn’t let the enchantress display her power for long. He released the Magic Shield, sustaining it with magic energy to block the attack. Simultaneously, he gripped the Magic Tang Sword with both hands and sidestepped swiftly to the enchantress’s flank. Amidst the splashing flames, he used the momentum from his turn to gather all his strength and swung the Magic Tang Sword at the enchantress.

With a clear, resonant clang of the sword, the fiery beams ceased. The bright flames within the enchantress’s head extinguished. Only a hollow husk of a head remained, which slid from her shoulders and hit the ground with a dull thud. Unit 008 patted the sparks off his body, sheathed his sword, and retracted the Magic Shield into the slot on his left arm. He then picked up the enchantress’s head from the ground and walked to Yan Xing. Presenting it with both hands, he said, "Master, this is the enemy’s head."

All the organs inside the enchantress’s head were incinerated. Even if Unit 008 hadn’t killed her, she wouldn’t have survived. Nearby, the enchantress’s corpse crumbled and collapsed like a charred wooden frame.

Yan Xing said, "This only has collection value to me. Does anyone else want it?"

Feng Tingyue quickly replied, "I do! Our Renlun Investment Bank wants it."

"Give it to her," Yan Xing told Unit 008.

Unit 008 handed the enchantress’s head to Feng Tingyue. Little Li quickly ran back to the car, fetched a plastic bag, and returned. Feng Tingyue carefully placed the head into the plastic bag. Little Li then took it back to the car, used a tool to vacuum the air out of the bag, and made a record of it. Their handling was very professional.

Finally, Little Li asked with some hesitation, "Should I put this head in the car, or carry it with me?"

This enchantress’s head undoubtedly held great research value. However, if left in the car, it might be found and confiscated by the manor’s personnel. Then again... such a large head wouldn’t be easy to carry.

Yan Xing said, "Put it in the car." Then he ordered, "Units 011 and 012, stay behind and watch our car."

Two battle alchemy golems took up positions on either side of the car. Witnessing the strength of these black-clad swordsmen, Little Li confidently placed the head inside the car.

Two wrecked military vehicles blocked the road to the manor house. They had to proceed on foot. Before they proceeded, a battle alchemy golem picked up a rifle from the ground and fired a burst at the manor’s southeast tower. After emptying one magazine and inserting a fresh one, the battle alchemy golem slung the rifle onto its back and reported to Yan Xing, "Master, the sniper has been eliminated."

"Let’s go then." Yan Xing stepped over a corpse and continued along the road toward the manor house.

Meanwhile, in the manor’s main hall, a group of people stood in various spots, watching surveillance footage on a large screen. They had all witnessed the recent events at the main entrance. The security team sent to retrieve Tong Yitong had all been killed, and even Aila was dead. Yet, the opposing side hadn’t lost a single person, not even suffering any injuries. The fifteen intruders were now heading this way.

They strolled through the open grounds before the manor as if they were casual visitors, seemingly unconcerned about any attack from within the manor house.

Was it arrogance? Or confidence in their own strength?

This apparent disdain from the intruders stirred restlessness in the hall. They had received power from the Demon God and were on the brink of ushering the world into a new mythological era. How could they tolerate such an insult?

"Chairman, let me go out and kill them!" a bare-chested man, built like a bodybuilder, said to Baron Max, who was seated centrally on a sofa.

A lavishly dressed elderly woman on another sofa remarked, "Brian, who was sent to capture Tong Yitong, hasn’t returned. He’s likely dead or captured. They also killed Aila so easily; their strength is greater than we estimated. They have Tong Yitong, making it easier for them to obtain her blood... If they are also an ancient, established organization, a full-scale conflict might be disadvantageous for us."

The muscular man retorted, "This isn’t a contest of who has more mediums, but whose patron deity is stronger! The power bestowed upon us comes from the Demon God Kayron! Legends record him as Satan and Lucifer. After the ancient gods vanished, only the power of Demon God Kayron endured until the eighteenth century. We lost our connection to Demon God Kayron only because the bloodline power of the Witches faded into obscurity. Now, the enemy possesses a Witch with a potent bloodline, and their power clearly doesn’t originate from Demon God Kayron. Brian and Aila were simply too weak. Their deaths shouldn’t make us cowardly; they should prove that Demon God Kayron is the supreme god!"

The muscular man invoked the core beliefs of the Witches’ Aid Society, silencing the others. All eyes turned to Baron Max. He was the current Chairman of the Witches’ Aid Society and the one who had received the most gifts from the Demon God.

After a pause, seeing the invaders nearing the main manor house, Baron Max finally spoke. "Antoine, if you wish to fight, go and wait for them at the entrance. The others can be killed, but Tong Yitong must be captured alive, if possible. We must ensure the Witch’s bloodline continues within the Witches’ Aid Society."

Given permission to fight, Antoine’s muscles bulged, and his bones audibly crackled. "Rest assured, Chairman," Antoine declared, "I will make them regret their current arrogance!"

Antoine strode out of the hall.

The elderly woman then asked Baron Max, "Chairman, do you think Antoine can win?"

Watching the screen, Baron Max replied, "It would be best if he wins. If not, we can at least gauge the true extent of their strength. Aila greatly disappointed me. She couldn’t even probe the strength of one of their minor members, while their core five didn’t even lift a finger. Antoine will teach them a lesson. And furthermore..."

Max didn’t elaborate, but some in the hall understood his unspoken meaning. Receiving power from Demon God Kayron was one thing; fanatical worship of the Demon God was quite another. The Witches’ Aid Society wasn’t a professional religious order. Lip service to their faith and token gestures were sufficient. Constantly invoking the Demon God—where did that leave the Chairman? How was he supposed to lead the team? Allowing the arrogant Antoine to fight alone this time served Baron Max’s interests, whether Antoine won or lost.

「...」

Yan Xing and his four companions, protected by the battle alchemy golems, proceeded calmly to the front of the manor house. The main door was very imposing and stood wide open. Beyond the door lay another open courtyard. In its center stood a Caucasian man, about two meters tall, his body a mass of sinewy muscle.

As Yan Xing walked in with his group, he couldn’t help but chuckle. "This is like playing an RPG. Are they really going to make us fight through level by level? Can’t you people be more creative? Fighting one by one is such a waste of my time. Everyone, attack together! Take him down and let’s push forward!"
