Mecha Devourer System-Chapter 202: The Chaos Begins (II)
"I... I don't understand."
A rectangular rooftop.
Seven men stood before him in a semi-circle, assault rifles with surfaces gleaming with laser energy in their hands.
Three more men occupied the corners, sniper rifles raised, their sights already locked in.
And three more men at the corners, kneeling on the ground with bazooka guns on their shoulders.
All of it pointed at Everlearn.
It was a complete lockdown.
"I don't understand. It was too instant. There were no dots there seconds ago, I swear it."
"It's like they all suddenly teleported atop just five seconds before you got there."
Sara's disbelieving words echoed in Everlearn's ears, and his eyes subconsciously turned to the center of the rooftop.
There, he got the answer.
A teleporter was stationed right there, still gleaming with green teleport energy.
They must have known he was going to get out, and the best way for the jump was the rooftop, where a teleporter had already been set, probably for their snipers in case of an emergency.
In short, they were one thought ahead...
"GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES, NOW!"
The one who looked the most hefty shouted, and Everlearn sighed, but his knees didn't move.
"I SAID GET DO—"
"Quiet!"
Through the heavily charged atmosphere, the word cut through the air like a sharp blade, silencing the noise, as the guards subconsciously tightened their rifles even as shock flashed in their eyes.
Looking at them, Everlearn's hands slowly slipped into his pockets, his eyes looking down at his feet for a moment before he raised his head to the guard leader.
"I can't fight thirteen men at once..." His voice was almost like a whisper, yet it rang clearly through every guard's ear.
"Without killing at least half," he completed, and the sound of guns getting cocked rang out.
"Trust me, those bullets would hurt, but I would still bite off more than seven heads before I fall on a knee."
They were armed guards, equipped to the teeth with the military's most destructive W-grade Mech Gadgets, and they had him surrounded.
All they needed was to fire.
To pull the trigger, which they already had their fingers on.
Yet... yet, none of them could do it.
There was something about him, about his words, that made them feel like the second their fingers moved was the second their heads fell.
"You all are doing your jobs, guarding against illegal, invasive entrances like me, but..."
"I think your death is senseless when compared to my original aim of being here."
He said, though the lasers on him never wavered.
"If you don't believe me, send the strongest amongst you forward and equip him with the best gun you've got."
"I swear he'll be down on his back faster than you all can blink."
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
A deep, boisterous laughter boomed through the air from the distance as a crimson shooting star flashed forward with insane speed, smashing onto the rooftop.
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A tsunami of powerful air burst from his descent onto the building, sending shockwaves through it as it wavered.
All the guards froze before dropping to one knee.
"Commander Sauron!"
They greeted with reverence, heads bowed, and Everlearn turned to look at the man who had descended.
He was a tall man, very tall, about three and a half meters.
Donning a thick, heavy, and dusty coat that hung on his shoulders, his sleeves were folded just below his elbow, revealing massive, bulging veins that flashed not green, but crimson instead.
Two of his eyes were like crimson torches, shining into Everlearn's own modified black irises, and they held such power that,
CRACK!
CRAAACK!
SHATTER!
The morph face mask that Everlearn wore shattered into pieces, fully revealing his features, and gasps of shock reverberated from the guards.
He was young.
A young man who couldn't be beyond the age of twenty-five.
"A little boy, with an X Core beating in his chest, dares to say he didn't want to end thirteen men with powerful Grade W-level weapons in their hands!?"
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
Commander Sauron threw back his head, laughing so loud it rang through the entire TCF Base.
"That has to be the funniest joke I've heard in the five years I've spent rotting in this place."
He said, his smile turning into a grin as he walked forward, and stopped less than a meter before Everlearn.
"You said you want their strongest soldier to come and face you, didn't you?"
He asked in a lowly tone.
"You said before they could blink, he would be on his back, didn't you?"
"Then show me, boy. Fall me before I could blink!"
The man said with a boisterous grin.
Silence followed, lasting about five seconds before Everlearn's hand slowly moved.
Quietly, before the gaze of fourteen men, he brought his left hand out of his pocket and gently stretched it upward until it landed on the man's right shoulder.
"Hmmm?"
Commander Sauron hummed in amusement, but in the next second,
CREAAAAAAAK!
The sound of heavy creaking rang out, and absolute, chilling silence descended upon the world.
The thirteen guards witnessed a scene they would never be able to forget until the day death seized their lives.
Their own commander.
The strongest man in the base, who in his first two years moving, had destroyed five enemy helijets sent to destroy this base solo, earning his title as the strongest.
Yet, they watched that same towering soldier's legs slowly begin to buckle.
The ground beneath him was shattering into countless pieces, a crater spreading all across the floor as his knees vibrated intensely.
Cracks continued, trailing down from the top of the building, and after 7 seconds of struggle,
BAAAAAANG!
A sound echoed through the entire base, cutting through the creeping silence.
The sound of a knee dropping.
