Aria pov

At first, Jaxon was about to speak, but suddenly, his gaze fell on thin, and he used his eye to signal for me. He wanted to talk to me alone. I turned to Tim, but Tim did not want to leave. Even though he had understood the signal between me and Jaxon, he still did not budget but sat there confidently.

"I am her best friend, so we won’t hide anything from each other, and besides, if you decide to keep it secret, she will still end up telling me."

I knew there was nothing I would tell Tim that would make him leave because, at the moment, I was meant to be angry with Jaxon, so I kept silent and let them continue to devour themself raw.

"Look, Tim, I am not here to argue with you; neither do I want to steal anything from you. It’s not anything that has to do with feelings or love. It is a family matter, and it is urgent. i Beg of you" Jaxon said to Tim and he stood up and reluctantly walked towards the door but stopped.

"I will pay Maya a little visit; I think letting her walk around like a free person is not worth it. Do not worry; I will be safe." Tim said to me, and without waiting for my reply, he walked away.

"saw something we would not believe. Still existed" he first began, and I stared at him a bit surprised.

"What do you mean? Explain better." I muttered in fright.

He looked around to confirm that nobody would come in anytime soon.

"You always told me that your father was either dead or something of that sort, but what if I tell you your father is alive?" Jaxon muttered to me. I felt so scared because I remembered the call I had and what I had heard my father saying he had just come out of prison and how scared I was. I tried to hide my emotions, but I still couldn’t do it.

I was terrified. Why would my father suddenly come back like a ghost?

"What do you mean? Please explain to me why you are confusing me." He moved closer to me. As he stared at me,

"I saw someone who looked exactly like you, and I followed him," Jaxon said while trying to be a bit more precise. He seemed to be beating around the Bush, and I got more confused.

Jaxon stood up from the chair and sat on the bed next to me. Even though I was still angry at him, and I did not want him sitting close to me, I needed him to explain to me this situation seemed more urgent than something. I can’t push him away.

"I know you might not believe me, or you might think I am hallucinating or something of that sort, but I am telling you the truth and being extremely sincere with you. I think your father is alive and not just searching for you," he said to me.

I felt so scared that I held to the blankets tightly in fright. I know that was one thing I never really told Jaxon about, but why would my father suddenly come back, and why was he in the hospital? I decided to ask Jaxon to explain to me.

"why exactly was my father in the hospital?" Jaxon also seemed a bit confused. I could tell he did not know why exactly he was there.

"At first, I thought he was a patient who was sick, but then he bumped into me. he was perfectly fine but seemed so mysterious. He was even covering his identity, and that was when I knew something was wrong." he said to me.

"That was why I said I did not want to say it in the presence of things, for I do not know who to trust; he might be someone trying to impersonate your father," Jaxon added. I felt so choked up. I couldn’t breathe well as I tried to think of a possible way to explain to him. I had never really told him my father was alive, and now my father was suddenly coming back into my life again.

"I did not know what to do; I just think that he was trying to impersonate my father, for real".I lied

Jaxon stares at me awkwardly; he does not seem to believe me. "It is fine." Jaxon said and smiled to cover it up;

"it is just that you might be saying it’s someone who looks like your father or is trying to impersonate him. But one thing I cannot understand was why he was standing right at the front of your door". Jaxon said to me, and I almost felt like jumping in fright. I was so scared. Does that mean that all the time? I was chuckling with Tim inside this room. What would have happened? Would he have said he wanted to take custody of me suddenly?

As I continued to think about everything, suddenly, my gaze fell on Jaxon again, and he was staring at me mysteriously.

"You still are not seeing anything, which is confusing me. Can you please tell me, Do you know the man? He was right at the door, and I felt scared. I cannot leave you here alone."

I was speechless, and just then, the door opened. I was so scared. I almost covered myself up in fright, but it was calming.

The doctor walked in with a file in his hand. He handed it over to Jaxon to sign. Jaxon stared at him in confusion.

"What is this about?" The doctor seemed confused.

"Someone had just paid for Aria’s hospital bill." the doctor said as we both stared at each other in shock.
