Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers-Chapter 416: The Person They Thought, They Person They Saw

(Author’s POV)

"She isn’t here. She had already left this place," Alaric answered. His voice came out a lot calmer than expected. Although his emotions were in turmoil.

"Huhhh~ .... she~ ... left~ ....?" Fabian was confused. "How do you know?" he questioned. "How do you know she had left?"

Alaric closed his eyes and replied, "Someone had already taken her away. She is in safe hands." He then opened his eyes and gazed at the red stringed half-moon bracelet. The one Nora had given to all her brothers. He had found it lying just a few centimeters away from Leroy’s body. Unlike every other thing inside and outside the cottage, the bracelet remained in pristine condition.

Of course, he had lost his protective charm somewhere, so it was not his. That’s for sure. And Brave had lost his as well at the banquet. So, the only person that came to his mind was Dion, as the youngest, Elio, was still in Kimberg.

He was trying to mind-link Dion, but it was blocked for some reason.

"Who? Who had taken her away?" Fabian asked, not getting Alaric’s words. "What are you trying to say, Alaric?"

Alaric sighed and started walking in the direction they had come from.

"ALARIC EVERESTS~ ...." Fabian shouted, but Alaric kept on walking. He followed him and finally noticed Alaric’s torn-up, bloodied back. There were several patches of burns on his shoulders, back, as well as his arms. After all, Alaric was in there for quite some time. How could he come out unscathed? But even after that, he was walking as if he wasn’t feeling any pain.

Fabian gulped hard and softened his tone. He then asked again, "Alaric, tell me who had taken her away?"

"Dion," Alaric finally gave him a one-word answer. Then, without looking at Fabian, he added, "Those three who were inside. They were the ones who kidnapped her." He had recognized Leroy’s voice. "This matter, it was definitely done intentionally. Investigate them."

Fabian glanced back and nodded, "Of course, I will. But where has he taken her? How is she? How do you know?" He kept throwing questions at Alaric, but the guy, he was in no mood to talk.

"What are you doing, Harry? I have been waiting for the news," Brian yelled on the phone. This temperament was skyrocketing.

His subordinate licked his lips, his head lowered, "Elder Tape~ .... Sir, as per your command, I was following the human girl and was planning to abduct her from in front of her house, but before our people could make any move, another group had stepped in and kidnapped her on the way. I followed them, and they had taken her into the abandoned forest." Harry told him everything he knew. His people had been tailing Myra’s since the time she walked out of her house.

"What?" Brian was left perplexed.

"Yes. It seems like the ones who kidnapped weren’t ordinary humans, but vampires from the Blood Fangs Clan," he added.

"Blood Fangs’? Are you sure? Why would they abduct a seemingly ordinary human? Did you find anything else? Where is that girl now?"

Harry hesitated, "Sir, she~ ... I~ .... I don’t know about her current whereabouts."

"USELESS PIECE OF CRAP. You, come here, right now. And ask the others to keep on looking for her. GOT IT," Brian literally roared and ended the call. In a fit of rage, he threw his phone towards the wall and cussed, "What would I give Catherine, now? I already told him I would give her a huge surprise. Damn."

"Did he still not pick up?" Fabian asked Alaric.

Alaric shook his head and exhaled a heavy breath. He had been continuously calling Dion, but the calls were going straight to voicemail. With no other means to contact him, they both returned back to the Larson mansion. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

As soon as they stepped into the living room, they saw Nora sitting on the couch, as if she had been waiting for them. Alaric glanced at the time; it was the wee hours. He asked, "Ora, what are you doing here at this time?"

Nora rubbed her eyes and answered, "I have been waiting for brother~ .... He went out to pick up Eli, but they haven’t come yet."

"Eli, huhh?" Alaric was puzzled.

"Do you not know, brother Al? Brother Brave told dad about what happened and on dad’s orders, Elio came to Esteria," Nora conveyed.

Alaric recalled Brave’s words before he departed. He was in such a hurry to find Myra that he didn’t listen to him. Understanding the whole situation, he nodded.

Nora then noticed Fabian, her eyes darting between him and Alaric. She then queried, "Where were you two gone, together?" Her brows wrinkled.

The lights were off, and most of the room was doused in darkness, so she didn’t see which state Alaric was in. His face was slightly pale. Though the leathery patches on his skin have now healed, but red, angry blisters have replaced them.

And thanks to Fabian’s spare shirt, they were well concealed as well. But it was still too small and ill-fitted for someone of his stature and build.

"We had some urgent business to discuss, princess," Fabian answered her. Alaric nodded as well. He was about to say something when, from the corner of his eyes, he saw someone enter the room. When he and Fabian laid eyes on the person, they both said in unison, their voice loud and deafening, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?"

Their eyes were about to pop out as their mind went blank. Fabian, with a stammering voice, added, "You~ .... you~ .... why~ .... are you~ ... here? Weren’t you~ .... suppose to~ ..." he left his words unsaid and looked at Alaric, his eyes burning.

Alaric was stunned as well. He made his way straight to the person and took his hand to check.

"Al, what’s going on? Mr. Stephens~ .... Am I not supposed to be here?" Dion asked.

Alaric held Dion’s hand in a tight grip, his eyes fixated on his wrist. Or, most precisely, the protective charm on his wrist. He was wearing it.

’Al, if Dion is here? Who was the one who took our mate away?’ Alex asked.
