Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 46: Good News, We found Him
[DRARUN]
"Rani, c’mon man. The other guards probably heard your cries, wake up,’’ Jihoon was pleading with this woman when he should have been happy she was finally suffering.
He should have had it in for her and never let her forget her weakest moments, but why did it break him to see her like this? Everything sounded so foreign to him but he had to. For this crazy-ass woman, he was willing to bend his morals.
Rania was still trapped in her nightmare, and no matter how much Jihoon tried, she wasn’t waking up. Instead, it was the same cycle over again. He could feel her tears on his hands and his heart broke for her.
There was a chance that her fears were triggered by the fact that Jungwoo would be executed in a day’s time. The son of a bitch wasn’t even paying attention.
However, Jihoon had realized that each time Rania mentioned Dalrae, the prisoner on the other cell flinched. He looked worried for Rania too.
"Get your hands off me you huge wanker," Rania said to Jihoon who just gasped with relief and sat on the floor of the dungeon, not caring that his dirty uniform would raise questions, especially with that stubborn officer Kang. But then that was tomorrow’s problem.
"You’re back, Rani, you’re back. I— I thought I lost your sorry ass for a moment there. Don’t worry about the prince, don’t worry about the king, I promise we’ll get him and go back home. No one will hurt Dalrae, not even the king, okay?" Jihoon said and Rania looked at him.
The man in front of her was weird. One moment he was cursing at her in hundreds of ways and the next, he was being kind to her. She wanted to live in that moment, but she was smart enough to know that it was all an illusion.
It was just a matter of time before the reset button was pressed. But before that happened, was it possible that the stubborn werewolf alpha was being genuine with her?
’Fuck,’ Rania cursed in her head. Being in the land of the undead was screwing with her. They needed to get out of here soon enough and start planning on how to delay the execution.
"Oi, get out, the other guards will probably come here," Rania said as he pushed Jihoon out. The man just walked out, a bright stupid smile on his face like he’d just won the damn lottery. When he got to the door of the dungeon, he heard voices.
It was then that Jihoon realized that he had bent the bars of Rania’s cell. They would probably want to kill her for doing that, considering the cells were meant to keep people away from the impudent creatures.
"Rania, the bars,’’ Jihoon whispered carefully in a manner that only Rania could understand. It was crazy that despite everything, they still found a way to communicate with each other.
"Oh shit," Rania said when the other guards came with their lights. She knew she was screwed in all seven ways to help, and for the first time, she froze.
She knew if she used her werewolf powers, she would be letting out a secret, but then again, how the hell was she supposed to explain what had just happened?
She didn’t know what to think, so she pushed herself on the opposite side of the cellar, away from the part that Jihoon was in, and walked in. She was going to try and pretend that she was sleeping and that wasn’t exactly hard, because she had been a master of that at a young age.
"Leader Bai, we heard some noise from the cells, are you okay?" the high guards asked Jihoon when they got to him. The man looked dirty, but thankfully, there was some dirt next to him, so it was easy for him to come up with a quick excuse.
"Nothing much, the stupid vamp was having nightmares. The little shit made me slip up and fall, dammit," Jihoon said, feigning anger, and yet somehow it felt like real anger. He didn’t care though. he had to sell whatever it was that Rania had forced them into.
The only thing he could hope for at the moment was that they not be found, because it would really be difficult to explain why the fuck they were there, and they would cost the vampires their lives.
"Oh, we’re sorry about that," a guard said as he lit his torch in the direction of Rania. They needed to make sure their leader was doing okay. There was something about being a lead guard in Drarun.
It seemed to have so many privileges, most of which Jihoon was unaware of. He couldn’t be blamed though. The irrational woman had given him something he couldn’t quite find a way around, and the worst part of it all, was that he couldn’t revert the damn thing.
Maybe he just needed to find a better way to communicate, but would that be possible in one day? The damned prince would be taken to the royal square in a day, and as much as Jihoon wanted to watch him burn, he had a mission to complete.
As the guard looked around, he saw something that shouldn’t have been there, or rather, someone that need not have been there. It was the ten-gold-coins question at the moment. The one that they all didn’t seem to have a grasp of.
"What the fuck?" was Rania’s silent question, because she couldn’t quite wrap her stubborn head around what she was seeing. Or maybe the tonic in her system was making her whirry, but it couldn’t be, right?
From the guards’ reactions, they were seeing the same thing. At least now she was sure she wasn’t insane.
"Leader Bai, look! The werewolf prince seems to have wanted some action haha. Look at the way he’s expanding that woman’s cell.
"If I didn’t know her well, I’d say she instigated it, but the woman is better at making trouble than seducing men, let alone trying an escape on her own," the guard said and Jihoon let out a sigh that he hadn’t even realized he was holding in.
When he relaxed, he just realized what the guard had said. the man there was the prince, and he was holding the bars of Rania’s cell? What the hell?
"Holy fuck," Jihoon said, not caring that he was cursing in front of his subordinates.
They had managed to solve two problems at the same time. The man in the cage was the werewolf prince, and secondly, he cared about Rania. Who could have thought that this shit would happen?
He cared.
The werewolf prince caring about Rania, was the only explanation, because why else would he put himself strategically next to Rania’s cage when he could have let the two of them be found as the werewolf envoy from Obren?
"Exactly," the guard said as he walked into the dungeon. This was something the two alpha’s hadn’t ever thought about and right now they were getting answers from someone they never thought would ever respond to them.
"Hold!" Jihoon said to the high guards who stood at attention. They looked worried that they had crossed some line, because of the fact that Jihoon was wearing, but he didn’t give two shits about them anyway.
