Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 42: Oh, This Darned Woman
[DRARUN]
"Has he eaten anything?" The senior guard asked his junior. It seemed like whatever happened, the prisoner was to be fed and clothed.
"No, he only drinks water once a week, but on different days, making it hard to know if that’s a signal or anything. Anyway, I’ll keep guard. please tell my wife I’ll be home soon," the guard said to his friend who just agreed but before adding;
"Be careful. The king suspects we have intruders in Drarun."
Rania and Jihoon had been listening to the guards talk about other things other than the prisoner at hand. It was then that they learned of the scheduled transfer.
Jeon Jungwoo, the werewolf prince of Obren was to be executed in three days.
It seemed like the vampire king had had enough of keeping the boy there. He wanted to send a message to Seojoon and what better way to do that than to kill the only child that Seojoon loved more than his life?
The two alphas were aware they needed to think fast, but before that, they needed to be sure that the man they were about to save was actually the werewolf prince and not just another man set up for execution because of the intruders.
Rania looked at Jihoon, a mischievous glint in her eyes. It was then that he knew this woman was up to no good. Whatever was going on in her mind, the Calindra alpha knew he wouldn’t like it. So before Rania could say anything, he spoke up.
"No. Whatever you’re thinking, drop it. We have to think rationally."
"If we had time, we would do things rationally. But we have two days. Two, and that also happens to be the number of days before my stupid tonic wears off. I say we get to know who the damned prisoner is, because we may just be going in there to save someone who isn’t Jeon Jungwoo.
"I haven’t traveled so far from home just to rescue the wrong bastard. Now, we gotta be prisoners. No, I’ll be the prisoner, and you have to find your way to be the guard at those gates. No wait, hold on," Rania rambled and Jihoon looked at her amusedly.
He liked that she was thinking in overdrive.
It was just a matter of time before she fell out of reality and he would trade her for the werewolf prince, and go back home to their people. Besides, what better vengeance would there be for him, other than leaving Rania to the undead?
"What is it this time, oh genius Rania?" Jihoon asked and Rania just said, "you can hate me later, but this has to be done," before using the stupid wand that Dalrae gave her.
It was one laced with magic and could make anyone into whatever the person having it wanted. And right now, Rania wanted Jihoon to be a palace high guard and her to be his prisoner. Maybe that is why she poked Jihoon with it.
"Holy fuck you stupid wanker. That hurt like a bitch you spineless creature! Shit!" Jihoon cursed out and the attention of the people around them was suddenly focused on them.
Maybe it was a good thing that they had gotten a little farther from the dungeon, otherwise, there would be so many questions from the army of the undead.
"Shut up you hopeless little shit," Rania said, her voice matching that of Jihoon’s. As if on cue, the palace guards showed up to aid one of their own, and Jihoon had to play the part.
"Oh you’re so infuriating," Jihoon said before smacking Rania at the back of the head with a tin that was laying around, knocking the stubborn wolf unconscious.
"What is it, Bai Ting?" the head guard asked Jihoon, who hadn’t even caught up with the new identity Rania had given him. He should have asked her their stupid identity before everything. fuck.
Now she was unconscious and he had to pretend to know what they were talking about. Damn, he was screwed. Once again, this was Rania’s fault. But then, what if he wasn’t screwed as he thought?
What if his uniform made him part of the royal guards and gave him access to every room in the kingdom of the undead?
"This little shit was running her mouth again. I just know where to put her," Jihoon said angrily as he dragged Rania on the ground, not bothering with the possibility that she was hurting.
This was her stupid idea in the first place anyway and he would enjoy it, even though he wasn’t sure the undead would listen to him.
"Okay sire, do we take her, or will you?" The guards spoke, fearful of losing their voices. Well, it seems like whoever Jihoon currently was, scared them shitless, and he would enjoy it.
"Here, carry her to the dungeons next to the little shit waiting execution, I’ll be right behind you," Jihoon said. He wasn’t sure the tone he used was the right one, but when the vampires did what he asked, he knew this was a smart idea.
Still, he wished Rania would have given him a heads-up. Also, how long was he supposed to be in the form he had taken? He didn’t want to be ambushed when he got to the dungeons only to stay there. Oh goodness, what the hell had Rania dragged him into?
"Okay sire," the guards responded before carrying Rania. Jihoon wasn’t sure about the direction they would take, but he could tell that they weren’t going to defy him. So he followed them closely, silently praying to the moon goddess to save them all.
He knew that if the goddess didn’t intervene, then her three werewolves were as good as dead in the hands of the undead.
"Leader Bai, I see you are doing well having your guards do the dirty work as usual. Is it so hard for you to do your own work?" A high guard interrupted Jihoon, making the werewolf alpha freeze for a microsecond.
What the hell was this?
He should have known that with the face he was given by the unconscious woman, there had to be repercussions, and one of them was having an enemy.
’Great, just great!’ Jihoon thought to himself as he cursed Rania in all the seventeen ways he had learned while the woman was sleeping.
Maybe he should have stuffed her in that cave and came to the mission himself, but hey, this was one of the side effects of interacting with Rania. She would be their death even before they killed themselves, fuck.
"I see you’re charming as usual Kang Mo Yoo. Do you still feel bad about me getting your position? Because I don’t. I deserved it more. Anyway, I have a prisoner to interrogate, get out of my way," Jihoon said, the words coming out of his mouth, even shocking him.
The vampire he had just addressed looked pissed as fuck and was ready to land a blow on Jihoon.
However, there were servants around, who were watching them. He had to behave, otherwise, he would screw up and that would be deadly for him and the damned woman from Incayon.
"What?" Officer Kang scoffed and Jihoon felt like he was talking to a male version of Rania.
Hopelessly he asked the goddess why he had to deal with two versions of Rani at the same time.
