Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 269: Don’t Know What To Do
[Three Months Later]
[RANIA]
Incayon was peaceful, as peaceful as it could ever get.
There was no call for war, the psychos had taken a break from all the fighting they had been doing. Their enemies were around and about, though very careful of what they did that was related to Incayon.
The whole realm was on the edge, five the calmness of the psycho theme that had been out to ruin lives. There were wolves of Calindra who had survived, had made a detour, and instead of going to the palace for protection, they had gone into hiding.
No one, including Jihoon and Daehyun, knew where the women and children were. It was like they had vanished and there wasn’t a trace.
Luna Park, alpha Jihoon’s mother, had initially reached out to the vampire king for help, but she had changed her mind when the response came a little too late and even more when she knew that the rogues had attacked the werewolf palace.
There wasn’t an agreement that they could make her anyway.
So she had taken her people and gone into hiding.
"We have scoured the realm and there is no sign of Odelia. There is just no way that she would disappear like that," Chang Wook complained for the hundredth time as he watched the pogues and the regular wolves of Incayon extract.
They knew that they would soon be going to Altunia, but until then, they had to stay alert and be on the side of the Incayon laws. Everything was getting closer and it was almost like there was a reason for them to live again.
Meanwhile, in the middle of all that, was a team that hadn’t found their friend.
It was like Odelia had pulled a disappearing act and wasn’t planning on coming back anytime soon. They had deployed the best resources to look for her, they had even tried to use their bonds with her, but there was nothing.
Losing Oshita had frankly fucked her up the most.
Their friends were still hoping that there would come a day when they would see their favorite friend again, but with all the time that had gone by, it all just seemed like a dream in the wild. Perhaps they could get there, right?
"It’s not making any sense. It’s like she disappeared after it rained for a whole month," Dalrae added, not liking how they had stayed without knowing where Odelia was.
They weren’t worried that she could start dropping bodies soon.
She had changed for the better and despite the fact that their friend group was filled with misfits, Odelia, just like Kaia, had learned what love and life were and had understood the importance of protecting family.
It would have been easier if Odelia was out there killing people, because at least they could race the dead bodies and figure out where she was, but then it was all just silent.
"We have to keep looking for her," Rania said and her friend looked at her; that was what they had been doing for the past three months.
The first month had been a little difficult because the whole realm had been experiencing heavy rains, day and night. It was like winter had come and hadn’t been any merciful to them.
The sun was something they could only ever wish for and the rains were terrible.
There was no mercy whatsoever, but after the month, when the rains ended and they no longer had the slightest clue of where Odelia was, reality had started kicking in, a little too fast.
They tried to find her, but no matter what they did, they were unable to.
The Seto brothers even came together to try and track her, but they got glimpses of where he was, but each time they were changed. It was a difficult, way too difficult a mission, than the fact that they were still trying their warriors for war.
"We need to get the mission going. If she comes back and finds that we paused the mission for her, then she will blame herself," Paloma said.
She knew how that sounded and she thought that maybe she was trying to love you so fast. But then their teams were down by two people and they ended up making sure that everything would still be on track.
Maybe she was not beginning to be sensitive, but she had lost her friends too. Maybe Odelia just needed time, but what if the Odelia troll didn’t want to be around them anymore? What if she wanted more time to heal and face the worst that she was going through?
Oh, but it was scary, though they all knew that everyone copied the folder with grief. Maybe Odelia would show up tomorrow, or the next day. But they would eventually get to her. That wasn’t a problem.
"She is part of us. We can’t just proceed with our lives like nothing happened," Rania argued. Well, she was making sense, really, but then they had so much to work towards. They had taken a breather for three months and that was a lot in any war.
"There is nothing left of our lives to proceed with, Rani. We have to make sure that we get to the end of the mission because if we don’t, our enemies might think we are relaxed.
"They will have time to gather more armies and we might not be able to deal with them in a shorter period," Paloma said as she looked at Rani.
Their lives had been paused the moment most of them had issues to fix with the werewolf king, the vampire king, and the Calindra alpha. They had a lot to work on and with the madness in the realm. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
There was just no way they would ever go back to being happy. Even in the three months they had been on a break, none of the friends were truly happy.
Everywhere they went, they could think of Oshita and Odelia bantering or Oshita trying to make the situation better. Their friends were like family and there was just no way they could move on that fast.
But was that it for them?
Were they moving on or just living life one day at a time?
"I know it may seem harsh, but I have to agree with Paloma. Odelia won’t like it if we stop everything. Besides, it has been three months. We have to proceed," Chang Wook said softly.
He knew how Rania despised losing people that she cared about, and she had seen his sister cry herself to sleep more times than he could count on both hands.
Chang Wook had seen her tormented but he lost and heard her blame herself for not being there for Oshita. She had been waiting for Oshita to come back, but three months later, Odelia and Oshita were unavailable.
"But—"
"The sooner we get this over with, the higher our chances of finding Odelia. If we finish the mission earlier, we will have more time to look for her.
"Besides, Han will be staying in Incayon. He will tell us if the warriors see Odelia. And Raqeeb is still with the imprisoned royal family," Kaia said as if to make the situation better. Grief sure did have a way fo fucking them all up.
"Jihoon is still in the dungeons, isn’t he?"
