"You can’t be serious right now," Dalrae reasoned but Kaia was done negotiating this was happening and Dale could either be on their side or against them. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

No matter what happened, they were bringing the bastard back. It was going to be an expensive gamble but with Kaia Seto around, maybe it wouldn’t be so expensive right?

"You are the one who can’t be serious. Can’t you see her state? It’s not even midnight yet and she definitely won’t wake up. Her nightmares take the whole night and even I can’t do shit about it.

"If you can help her, then fucking do it, and if you can’t, let me do what she brought me in to do,’’ Kaia said before he created a portal to the Incayon dungeons, ignoring Dalrae and Chang Wook’s shock. He would deal with the consequences later.

"Haru, I have taken your prisoner. It’s about Rani. Don’t worry, I’ll return him by the morning brother," Kaia said before he grabbed Jihoon and brought him back to the shelter.

"It was all so fast that even Dalrae didn’t know what to say. She was silent for the first time in so long and goodness that was a shocker even to Chang Wook. Then again even he had never seen such things happening.

"What the fuck just happened?" a sleepy Jihoon asked as he looked at the people in the shelter. He was still not even aware of where he was or what was going on. He was sleepy and while he was unchained, all his thoughts were jumbled up for obvious reasons.

However, Jihoon looked at Rania who was still whimpering in her sleep. Even with the commotion, she had still been trapped in her nightmares, softly crying for help and begging for her friends to be spared.

She looked so helpless that their hearts were breaking. Jihoon looked around him and then at the woman on the makeshift bed. It didn’t give him long to know why he had been brought here and he felt used.

But then wasn’t he a prisoner?

Well, at least he was smart enough to know that this place was a fortress if they had brought him in and u cuffed. He was free but even he wasn’t free.

"I’ll go straight to the point. Make her pain stop, and I’ll free Daehyun with no strings attached. I won’t hunt him down or even make him suffer. I know you don’t want your best friend hurting, it’s just the same way I didn’t want my best friend hurting.

"So make it stop. If you don’t, I’ll go to the palace roads and murder every last Calindra wolf. I know your mother is making her way to the palace to seek shelter. She even sent a message to Nathaniel for help.

"In simpler terms, help her and your friends get his freedom, fail her and your whole pack dies and becomes forgotten by every werewolf and creature in the realm. Your choice," Kaia said, and Jihoon chuckled.

He may have been sleepy as fuck and confused, but he understood the desperation in Kaia’s cold voice. He could also feel his own wolf claw at him to help Rania, and he wanted to, he really did, but he couldn’t.

Not when he wasn’t sure Kaia would keep his word. If Daehyun was free then the wolves of Calindra would be safer because Daehyun was an elite warrior who could easily pass as an alpha.

"Tour best friend? Isn’t she supposed to be your mate?" Jihoon asked in the hope that he could get the answers he was seeking.

Maybe he would get them but Kaia had changed faces, and right now he was seeking to protect Rania. It was the only thing on his mind and if Jihoon wasn’t going to help with that then he could as well eliminate the man.

He didn’t care what the fuck was with the man really.

"She might suffer through the night, but she will eventually wake up. I doubt you can say the same for your best friend back in the Incayon dungeons. And didn’t even think of using Haru’s humanity card.

"I already told him I’d return you, I didn’t say how I’d return you. So which is it going to be?" Kaia asked coldly if it was even hard to tell that he was making a request to Jihoon.

Then again the circumstances weren’t exactly kind enough for them to be playing catch with each other.

Rania was hurting and that was not what they wanted

"Jeez, fine. Who else are you going to threaten? My lineage too? I’ll help her alright, but you had better keep your word or I’ll tell her that you made a promise and didn’t keep it. Let’s see how she’ll take that," Jihoon said as he raised his hands in surrender.

He hadn’t come to fight. Actually, he had felt Rania’s apin too, and was hoping that someone would take him to her so he could help her out. Even in his anger, Park Jihoon was still in love with the woman who was punishing him.

He was letting her have her vengeance because this is what he deserved. Besides, right now, the deal that Kaia had just offered him wasn’t so bad.

Daehyun being free and him leaving his people alone was more than he could have asked for, especially after all the madness he had caused Rania. Maybe this was his way of atoning, but how long would it take before Rania even looked in his direction?

"Oh, I have a long list of people who you care for, people who could actually pay the price for your refusal.

"I am just letting you know how many options you have so you don’t say that I didn’t give you options to pick from. I like to give my victims choices before I take everything away from them for merely refusing.

"If I were you, I would stop asking questions that won’t keep your head on your neck for long, and focus on things that could actually give your best friend a future and your plc too," Kaia reminded, his tone as cold as ever and it was getting chillier with every whimper that came from Rania.

His heart was breaking and he had never thought his heart would ever break, then again, Rania did have that effect on even the worst of creatures. She inspired humanity and made them believe that there was hope for them.

"Wow, you’re unhelpable. Alright alright, I’ll help her. But you must swear to her, to not try anything with me while I help her. I’ll initiate contact with her, but you mustn’t try to stop me, because I won’t hurt her.

"I care for her far too much to cause her pain anymore," Jihoon said and Chang Wook and Dalrae who had been watching the interaction with open mouths looked at the two again before sighing in defeat.

At least their conversation was heading somewhere, right?

"Are we in agreement?"

"Do what you must for her. Just make sure she isn’t hurting."

"Fine," Jihoon said before he carefully walked to where Rania was sleeping.

"I didn’t mean for this to happen, love," Jihoon whispered softly when he finally saw how sweaty and frustrated Rania was in her sleep.
