Chapter 220: Of Sweet Dreams

[RANIA]

"Are you sure you’re ready for this?" Kaia asked when morning came. He had woken up early and went to check on Rania in her room, but when he got there, he didn’t find her.

However, he could smell her in the alpha’s office, which could explain why he was standing by Rania’s door, watching as she worked through the war plans to invade Calindra.

She had been studying these plans for so long that they were engraved in her head, but she needed to be sure.

Mercy wasn’t going to be an option because Rania believed that mercy made people weak.

Mercy got people to bend to the will of others and mercy for the cruel, was a poison to the pained who needed justice.

"I have been planning this for the day I knew what Yanna did and how he defended her when I was hurting because of her," Rania said as she looked at the knights on her little chessboard.

She had been going through this the whole night and honestly, she was feeling a little bit nervous. But that wouldn’t stop her from going after the man who had hurt her so badly.

"I know, but are you sure you want to really go after him? He was once your mate, my butterfly. I may not know much about bonds, but I know that there are some long-lasting effects of a mate bond, my butterfly.

"Are you sure you want to go on with this? You know I will support you to the ends of the world," Kaia said and Rania just sighed as she looked at the man who was gracefully standing at the door.

Kaia Seto looked so damn good, with his hair tied up in a pony. His beards were neat and he had a pretty smile on his face, something that only showed whenever he was with Kim Rania.

He was wearing a simple black shirt and grey sweatpants that made him look like a god in a way. If Kaia Seto wasn’t the face of evil, he would have easily been every woman’s dream. Well, he was Rania’s mate right now, right?

"I know Kai. But some things can’t be forgiven no matter what happens. He owes me suffering. And he must pay it in full. I don’t care if I have to be the devil himself to get to him.

"I will make sure he feels the pinch of what is to come for him," Rania said, the conviction in her voice so clear and Kaia knew that if there was anyone he would have wanted for a mate, then Kim Rania would easily be his mate.

Perhaps it was a good thing that she and he were mates right now. Maybe after the madness was done and dusted, they would be able to have their own mating ceremony and finally, Rania would have some peace.

Oh, the joy of what was laying beyond vengeance. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Then you have the perfect partner, butterfly. I will stay beside you till the end of this. I will keep my commitment to you. Worry no more, but you need to get some rest, little wolf. You can’t fight at your best when you are weak.

"So go, get some sleep. I will take care of the preparations. Besides, I will have the help of five others. You don’t have to worry alright?" Kaia said as he walked into the office, careful to gently shut the door behind him.

He had never met a woman so diligent and dedicated like the one before him and he could only wish that she got what she wanted in the end.

"But Kai—"

"Alright then, come, lay on me, little wolf," Kaia said, as he gave his hand to the woman with bags under her eyes. She was spent and she looked like she could faint anytime soon, but then again, she was Kim Rania and she could withstand anything, right?

"Okay," Rania said, giving into the pull that was lulling her towards Kaia. She trusted this man with her life which couldn’t be said for many.

****

For hours, Kim Rania had given in to her sleep, and somewhere sign the way, Kaia Seto had spelled her to sleep even longer. It was something that had crossed the five misfits, but then Kaia explained to them that she hadn’t slept the whole night, so they let her sleep.

Meanwhile, they were busy arranging the move from Incayon to Calindra. The Incayon warriors had already set their camp a few clicks outside of Calindra and were ready for anything.

Kaia had had his band of crazies meet with the Incayon warriors, and as strange as the alliances that were showing up were, they all knew that it was necessary or they were to fight the battles and win.

This wasn’t just about them trying to make peace with a reality that they couldn’t change, no. This was about Rania and Rania only. Hell, even the rogues had mastered the mission like it was theirs to win.

This was the ultimate war.

"Should we wake her up?" Dalrae asked when the convoy started moving. Strangely enough, they had managed to get the sleeping Rania on a card and were slowly pulling her to the warrior camp that they had set.

Of course, there were still warriors in Incayon who had stayed to make sure that their people were safe. But with the misfits leaving too, Kaia had made sure to remind Alpha Kim and his Luna that they were in charge of the pack until the warriors came back.

He had said it with so much conviction at his little speech earlier with the Incayon wolves. It wasn’t hard to tell that Kaia Seto had cast an immortality spell on the Incayon army and all the warriors who were going to fight for Rania.

They wouldn’t die, they wouldn’t get hurt, and sure as hell, their swords wouldn’t miss the targets. It was almost like all these warriors were going on a slaughter mission to Calindra and boy did Kaia Seto love what he was seeing.

He didn’t care what was in Calindra; what mattered was that Kim Rania wouldn’t have to look the mothers in the eye and tell them that their sons wouldn’t be coming home. It just wasn’t going to happen this time.

"If we wake her up, she might kill us for dragging her along and for not waking her up ten hours ago. The sun has already gone down and she still looks like she had been crafting witchery in the night.

"Her eyes are still swollen from the lack of sleep and her new scars show that she is not yet recovered from the battle we had two days ago," han Seogn said and they all agreed in their own way.

Kim Rania would surely have thor heads for dragging her through when she didn’t even have the best clothes on. Maybe it was a good thing that she was sleeping right now. Oh, but she was the food to their soul, hmm?

"I wonder why we didn’t use the portal. You just wanted to walk the long road. You people are no fun," Chang Wook whined and they looked at him like they were about to smack him ten years into the past and future.

"Wasn’t it you who wanted a fucking adventure?" Paloma said and Rania let out a chuckle.

The little wolf hadn’t been sleeping after all.
