Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 214: Oh The Long Tales of The Forbidden
[RANIA]
"Fine, I’ll tell you one truth, but if Oshita and Dalrae arm-wrestle," Kaia said, and instead of the misfits looking surprised, they cheered on.
Hell, even Rania was up for this, as she rushed to clear her table of the endless pending reports and made space for the duo to play.
"I have a broken arm," Oshita said, quickly defending himself. He knew that if they arm-wrestled, there were chances that they wouldn’t know what it was Kaia had been willing to tell them.
They had yearned to know more about the man and right now, they had a chance that wouldn’t show itself for probably a long period.
It was crazy how they had gotten here and were in the same space as Kaia Seto, yet at the same time, they were very much alive. Surely there was something for them, right?
"I still haven’t healed from yesterday’s fight. But by tomorrow, I’ll be fine... And don’t think of healing me or I’ll kick your ass, Kaia Seto," Dalrae added, having realized what Oshita had.
It wasn’t that hard to tell, because, with Kaia, it was nearly hard to get information out of him. So when he volunteered like this, they had to make sure of that chance.
"You guys are no fun,’’ Kaia said before a long silence that ended with the words that they never thought they would ever hear from him.
"I have a brother, a younger brother," Kaia said and the misfits, including Rania this time, looked at him like he was high on something.
Surely he wasn’t openly admitting that he had a family once, right? He wasn’t admitting that the rumors were true about his sister and all the creepy ass shit that was spreading in the realm, no?
"What?"
"No way."
"Gods be damned."
"Well, the earth sure does spin a little too fast lately."
"You? Have a family?"
"Not the sister you murdered and fed on her fetus?"
"That’s some creepy ass shit man."
"I guess I gotta stay away before he eats me too."
"Hold on, when the hell did that happen?"
"A younger brother?"
"Are you done or should I stop?" Kaia said to the team that was still in disbelief. Well, it was understandable because the dream had been shaken by the horrors of Kaia Seto.
The rumors had scared and scarred people so much that it was impossible for them to even believe anything that Kaia was saying. This was almost like a deal that wasn’t making any sense.
It was insane.
No, it was impossible, and the longer they looked at Kaia, the longer they couldn’t see the possibility of Kaia having a sibling, so Rania decided to ask the questions that were pressing them so much, given that the last rumor they heard was that Kaia Seto had fed on his sister’s fetus.
"Is he alive?" Rania said and Kaia literally rolled his eyes at them.
"Don’t tell me you believe the rumors," Kaia said with an amused laugh and it was their turn to look at him.
What the hell were they even supposed to believe when the man here with them had a reputation worse than the devil himself?
He had been so brutal that there was a chance that many had begun spreading rumors about the man who couldn’t be defeated by anyone.
There had never been a way to verify the rumors but damn, now that they were looking at Kaia Seto, they still didn’t know if they were true or not. Then again, the man had shown up at the gates feeling on a bunny, while it was still alive.
His humanity was something that everyone had reasons to put into question.
"Dude, have you met you?" Oshira said and this time, Kaia facepalmed. This was really going to be a long evening. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"Maybe I should start feeding on you, huh?" Kaia teased as his eyes darkened while he stared at Oshita.
Sensing danger, Oshita went to where Rania was sitting, got Rania up so she could sit on him instead of the couch.
That way if Kaia pounced, he would pounce on the woman he had called his mate; something they wouldn’t believe even if the goddess herself told them so.
"Come if you dare," Oshita said, and they all burst out in laughter at his shaking hands.
For a man who was so brave, he was not going well showing his bravado this time. It was almost like he was scared shitless of the man, which he was, but wasn’t that what he was trying not to show?
"Where is your brother?"
"Do we know him?"
"Is he an animal like you?"
"Does he eat people too?"
"Did he eat your sister’s fetus too?"
"Where do you people even get this information from? The statements get more absurd with every word coming out of your mouths, damn. I must really have the reputation of the devil out there, huh?" Kaia asked with a laugh again.
He was slowly learning things and he wished to know more about what was being said out there.
However, as he looked at the misfits, he could also tell that just because they were in shock about his brother, didn’t mean they were going to stop asking him about what he had just said.
It was only fair for him to come clean, right?
"Wait, were you born or were you another product of magic?" Dalrae who had been silent for a while asked and once again, Kaia’s response was a hearty laughter.
It was weird hearing him laugh and the fact that his laugh was sincere was even creeping them out. Anyone could assume that he was warming up to them, but even if he was, they wouldn’t trust him for a long time, yet.
They had their reasons anyway.
"I’m immortal but the absurdity of your questions will kill me. And before that, since I decided to open the Pandora, I will let you in on my brother only, alright?" Kaia said and Han Seong scoffed, his first reaction since Kaia had said that he had a brother.
It was almost like Han Seong wasn’t willing to buy into Kaia’s bullshit, but what if Kaia was telling the truth? What if Kaia really had a brother and he was somewhere out there in the world?
"Shush, you pessimist of a high priest," Kaia said and Han Seong just showed him the middle finger, and yet once again, Kaia Seto didn’t say anything cruel to Han Seong.
Instead, he just smiled at the man, something that creeped everyone out, and maybe Kaia was doing it intentionally because Han Seong was clearly not in the mood for all this.
So Han got up.
"Call me when he’s done bullshitting about his brother," Han Seong said, and they all looked at him like he was crazy.
Surely he wouldn’t want to miss the insights into Kaia Setos’ life, right?
The man had more rumors around him than facts, and right now he was willing to divulge them into one, and strangely enough, Han Seong wasn’t interested.
"That was new—" Plaoma said but before she could say another word, Kaia started to talk about his brother.
"Well here goes nothing. Listen well because I won’t repeat this ever to anyone. We were born Kaisei Chihiro Seto, and Haruhito Yanagida Seto, the twins of the Seto family line—"
