Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 213: Don’t lose her, However Crazy
[JIHOON]
"What will you do now that you have stepped down? I know you didn’t just step down because you can’t lead people to war.
"What is going on in your head, Jihoon?" Daehyun asked as he looked at his brother who was watching the pack members walk away while others stayed out and waited for the rain to subside.
He could sense the skepticism and fear that came with his father taking over, and he wished that there was more that he could do for them. He felt terrible for his pack members, really but then even he knew that there wasn’t much he could do at the moment.
His hands were tied and no matter what angle he looked at all of this from, there was no other way than letting his father hold the fort while he tried to clear his head of the messes that he had found himself in time and again.
"Nothing. I just wanted to take a break. We all need it sometimes, no?" Jihoon said and Daehyun looked at him with a face that told the man that he wasn’t buying any of that bullshit explanation.
If that had been the reason he wouldn’t have looked so concerned earlier even as his father had dealt with Yanna. It was obvious that his mind was elsewhere and the sooner he faced that reality and tried to let his brother in, the sooner they could find a way out of this.
But then was it the kind of thing that they would find an easy way out of? Was it going to be a walk in the park for him, or was this just some sort of illusion that no retribution would let pass? Everything had been confusing.
"Well whatever it is, I hope you are careful. There is a lot of unrest and you wouldn’t want to be dragged into it," Daehyun said and Jihoon let out a light scoff. Of course, he was caught in the whirlwind.
If anything, he was probably the reason that this shit was happening.
He had to find a way to get out of it or rather he had to find a way to reach Kim Rania before she got to Calindra because if her team made it here and it would be game over before they even began.
"I will be. Don’t worry too much. Just know that if you have to choose between me and Calindra, choose our home Daehyun. Make sure you choose our home—’’ Jihoon said and his brother looked at him like this was some high-grade bullshit that he’d never seen.
What the hell did the man even mean by choosing home? What was home? Where was home without the alpha? What part of home was he supposed to get used to and even choose in the first place?
"There’s no home without you, brother. Calindra is nothing without you. If I have to choose between Calindra and you then don’t expect me to choose home.
"You are home. It’s always been us against everything, so don’t expect me to stand by and watch," Daehyun said as if to tell Jihoon that they were stuck together.
Granted, Jihoon already knew that, but he was just trying to give his brother a choice. The chaos that was headed their way wasn’t in the least bit nice and if they weren’t prepared they would be left with so much to worry about.
"Hey, son. Are you okay?" Alpha Park Taeho, Jihoon’s father said when he reached his son and his best friend.
Taeho hadn’t exactly had a talk with his son over the actual reason he had him take over, because this right here was an easy task.
If Jihoon had wanted to arrest Yanna and detain her for a long while, he could have done it so early, but he involved his father, the great Taeho, the man that people never wanted to cross. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
It wasn’t daily that Jihoon went to his father for help and Taeho ew that there was more to his son giving the position he loved so much, just like that.
"Yeah, I am," Jihoon said but Taeho didn’t believe his son.
He had raised his son so well and right now as he looked at him, Taeho could tell that his son was going through alot of shit.
He knew that there was something in his mind and he was hoping that he would get to know it, maybe that would give him a chance to protect his son sooner.
"Well, whatever is eating you up, just know you can come to me, son. If you are worried about Rania, don’t worry too much. No mate would want to see their mate hurting.
"It shouldn’t be hard for the two of you to find your way back to each other after she gets her justice or whatever she is looking for. The moon goddess sure did know how to choose a mate for you, son," Taeho said softly as he patted his son’s back.
Taeho looked at Jihoon with a smile on his face, like he was glad that of the people that his son could have been mated to, Kim Rania had to be the girl of his dreams and the girl he was blessed with.
"What?" Jihoon asked as he looked around, wondering if there were any more people who had heard his father think of an atrocity like that. That was what it was. An atrocity.
A bond that shouldn’t have come to life, and yet as he stood there with his father, Jihoon could see more pride than anger for the fact that the rightful Calindra luna was coming to war with her own people.
But were they even her people when she hadn’t once shown up for them and given them a reason to trust her? There was so much to think of at the moment.
"I am your father, son. I have had my eyes on you since you were in Yoona’s arms. I watched you and your little crush on the girl that everyone couldn’t match. I watched you love her even when you didn’t even know what love was.
"I won’t come between you and I won’t try to fix the mess you created with her. She is fierce and she won’t stop, which is also a good reason for you not to stop. If you lose her this time, son, then you will have nothing.
"She will be gone and you won’t even get to do the slightest route to her. Whatever you do with that information is on you, but remember, a good woman is hard to come by, however crazy and angry she is. She’s a loyal one.
"She even forced the Viking to carry you from the stables. Don’t lose her son, not because of things that can be fixed and definitely not because of a hybrid who is full of shit, yeah?
"I have to go before my Yoona kicks my ass for not staying beside her this time. I’ll see you around, son, Daehyun," Alpha Park Taeho said to his son.
And if it was possible that jaws literally flail o the floor, then Park Jihoon would have had his dancing kumbaya on the ground from the number of times he had been shocked by his own father.
What the hell did the man even mean when he said not to lose a good woman? His father knew his truth and yet still rallied for war? What the fuck was Jihoon supposed to make of this anyway?
Oh, there were so many things he could consider but for the first time in so long, Park Jihoon felt free. He didn’t have to walk on eggshells around his parents anymore.
He didn’t have to pretend that he was doing fine having Yanna around, he didn’t have to act like the world was suddenly filled with beauty when his heart was in mourning and he was yearning for that which was almost impossible for him to get.
"He knew?" Jihoon asked as he watched his father disappear into the hopeful and fearful crowd.
There were just some things that he had always found harder to explain, and right now what his father had just said, was one of them. How the hell did the man even know these things?
"Well, he did say he is your father. Listen to him. Don’t lose a good woman, however crazy she is, brother. That is the takeaway from his speech and this time I do hope you use your heart and brain to reconcile all this.
"I have to go too, I’ll see you around, yeah?" Daehyun said, leaving his best friend staring again.
