Chapter 180: The ’Secret’ Keeper

[RANIA]

As Daehyun watched the misfits play along with his fate like he didn’t matter, he knew he had to try and defend himself.

They would definitely end up challenging themselves to a decision that would do him no good, so he wanted to try and make it make sense, but would they even listen to him?

Would they try to listen to what he had today? Well, there was only one way to find out, right?

"Stay silent while we decide your fate," Oshita said sinisterly and Rania just sighed.

Her friends were crazy sometimes and right now, it was even more obvious as she looked at them. They weren’t going to make this easy for Daehyun and Rania knew she could either watch the Calindra beta be burned by her friends, or save him.

But before she could say another word, he spoke up.

"I’ve known she was out Luna since the time she came from the Drarun mission. I just needed to confirm it so I could tell my brother that he wasn’t crazy for obsessing about Kim Rania for the past three months," Daehyun said sincerely and this time Rani looked at him curiously.

Did he know that he was treading dangerous waters or he was just here because the weather was fine and he wanted to have fun? But Daehyun didn’t seem to be the type to play long games, especially where the misfits were.

He knew so well that they could do terrible things to him and they wouldn’t even feel an ounce of remorse. They were dangerous and he knew that too.

Away from Rani’s misfits, Daehyun also knew that. He knew that it was risky playing games with Rania. He had seen for himself the number of people who wouldn’t hesitate to come fight for her. He wasn’t trying to get killed right now though.

"So what? Do you want us to thank you? Your alpha is an ass, a brainless one for a fact. And coming here like this is dangerous for you. I suggest you go back home while we’re still feeling kind, otherwise, you wouldn’t like what will happen to you.

"It would be more than just them bargaining to play ball with your bones, and trust me, I have seen them get psychotic and that suggestion is the least of their psychotic tendencies.

"So run while you can, Daehyun," Paloma said and Daehyun just looked at her like he knew something that she didn’t.

Paloma however didn’t care about what was up Daehyun’s sleeve.

Then again, Daehyun hadn’t come to this end to seek justice for anything.

He had come to see for himself whether the Incayon wolves would accept Rani. Maybe that would give him a chance to explain why he was currently here. But then why was he really here?

Jihoon hadn’t sent him here.

The alpha had been still hoping to see his beta and yet the man was nowhere to be seen. What the hell was he supposed to say to this deadly team that was already thinking of him as a tool of pleasure in their free time?

"Yanna is alive and in Calindra. She is on some sort of mission and I’m willing to bet my life and it being something to do with Rania. The last time she kidnapped me in the south, she had made it clear that she was coming for Rania.

"She is planning something, and it’s not good. She was the one who told me that you both were mates and she admitted to what she did, the messing with your mate bond. She wouldn’t have told me that if she wasn’t having something on her mind

"I don’t know what you plan on doing with that information, but I’ll have you know that she is imprisoned for now. It is just a matter of time before she finds something to convince Jihoon to let her go, and we both know he will, because she’s technically a dead woman in the realm.

"That is what I came to say. I shall take my leave now, unless you’re planning on detaining me here.

"I don’t mind staying and serving the rightful Calindra Luna," Daehyun said and Rania let out a loud laugh that got the attention of everyone including those that were checking in their dead and faking prisoners.

This was pure bullshit to her and the fact that she had almost believed Daehyun earlier, was insane. But had she really?

Rania had known that her people wouldn’t come forward to defend her, so when Daehyun had said he would be willing to help, Kim Rania had thought of him as an addition. But now that her people were here, she had no use for Daehyun, and he could tell that too.

"Go home and tell your alpha that I’m coming for him and that Luna of yours. Tell him to prepare because nothing will stop me from burning down Calindra this time around.

"So go and start relocating your people as far as you can because I’m coming to Calindra, and I’m not coming in peace," Rania said and Daehyun just smiled at her proudly like he was already in support of whatever Rania was planning.

He knew that Kim Rania was the only person that scared Yanna Park shitless. If Rania was coming then it meant that they could all be rid of Yanna so easily. No one was going to stop them from doing away with Yanna this time.

"Then know this, Luna Rania. If you’re coming to, and for, Calindra, don’t hold back, Rania, not even once. You made so many sacrifices for a bond that broke you even more. You were hurt more than you deserved.

"If you don’t want justice then get your vengeance. I know I’ll be on the team that will defend Calindra, but if you have to burn Calindra down in vengeance, I won’t stop you. Someone has to pay for all that was done to you.

"Goodbye Kim Rania and I truly hope that the people you hold dear in your corner don’t ruin the little happiness you have fought so hard for till today. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"You deserve to be happy, whether as a Calindra Luna or not. You deserve to smile without worrying about the people who want to hurt you. I pray that you get that happiness, truly.

"May the goddess be with you always," Daehyun said, bowing again this time before he got himself out of the Incayon armor and began leaving to go back home.

He had been truthful with Rania and while that was suspicious as hell, Rania could tell that Daehyun really meant it. If only things weren’t so complicated between her and Jihoon, then she would have embraced the bond.

But she had lost a lot in the process.

"Until we meet again," Rania whispered before she turned to her friends who were looking at her with worry on their faces. They were right to be curious about how Kim Rania was doing.

She had been surprised by a lot today and she hadn’t been able to process anything since morning. She needed a break from all this and honestly, she needed to take a break soon enough before she burned out.

"Rani, you need to rest."
