Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 116: There Must Be Opium in The Air
[JIHOON]
"She’s trapped in a hunter’s trap, Dalrae," Jihoon said and Dalrae felt her heart break once again, making her regret not even going with Rania when she had insisted on it.
She should have been stubborn and made sure Rania let her, but damn, now that she was hearing this and that too from Park Jihoon, Lim Dalrae felt like the world really hated her best friend.
She had wanted a world in which life and love meant something for Rania, but all that she got was pain and more pain for her sister.
’You won’t see me fall apart,’ Dalrae said to herself as she looked at Jihoon who was waiting for her to say something. He knew this wasn’t going to be easy for her, especially since she wasn’t even sure if she could get to Rania within the day.
It was all so painful on Rania’s end and even worse for Dalrae because she couldn’t even get to her.
"Then it must really be a good day for you. I have no time for you. Leave. Your four minutes are done and never come back here. I won’t be as kind, if you ever do," Dalrae said, her voice so cold.
For a moment, Jihoon looked around the room as if he wanted to see if there was someone else that Dalrae wanted to break like that. Her voice felt like a thousand knives were being aimed at Jihoon’s wolf.
The poor thing was wallowing while its human was confused as hell and just plain dumb. Maybe Jihoon needed to take more of those mate classes and while at it, maybe he needed to go to a school that explained how the heart worked.
"I am worried about her," Jihon began and Dalrae growled at him. This man had some nerve coming here and talking about worrying for Rania.
Dalrae’s patience was running thinner by the second and if Jihoon wasn’t careful, he would be long dead before he even managed to get what he wanted here.
"Park Jihoon. You keep on yapping about how my sister is out there alone and trapped. Why the fuck do you care, huh? Why do you think you have a right to come here and tell me about her? Who asked you to be my informant? Or is running Calindra not good enough for you?
"You can join your stupid prince in his running of the kingdom. Now, like I said, some of us have work to do instead of tolerating your annoying presence here. I bet you must be happy that Rania is out there alone and hurt.
"So please leave, or I will declare war on you, and trust me, I have a good number of warriors who are pro-Rani, who won’t hesitate to give up their lives for her, even if it means facing the crown...
"For murdering you on my behalf," Dalrae said with a smile, though there was nothing good about that smile. It was creepy and scared the fuck out of Jihoon.
If he didn’t know any better, he would have assumed that Dalrae was planning to kill her. Then again, the woman had made it clear more than once that she wanted him dead, so there was a truth in her words. Damn, she scared the hell out of him.
"Fine, I’ll leave—"
"You should do that now, before you make me even angrier. Your stench is making this place unlivable," Dalrae said and Jihoon resisted the urge to tell her that he was worried for Rania. Clearly, she didn’t believe him, and he couldn’t explain why he was so worried for her.
"Fine I’ll leave, but about Rania. What will you do—"
"Y’know what? If you want to say in this office, you can stay here, and make sure to steal a few confidential documents from incayon, so I can finally have a reason to make your life miserable.
"And trust me, I will enjoy it down to the last bit," Dalrae said as she walked past Jihoon, grabbing the knife that had embedded itself in the wall when Dalrae threw it at Jihoon earlier.
She wasn’t even fazed by the action herself, because this man had managed to bring out all her anger issues to the surface.
Sighing, Dalrae opened the door, only to be met by the couple she despised more than she despised Park Jihoon. She hated them but she couldn’t do anything about it because at the end of the day, they had the support of most of the people in Incayon.
Oh but it was hectic being Dalrae in Incayon, but she had to hold on, if not for herself, but for the hope that with her power as the Incayon alpha, she could get Rania back here, even as a new welcome pack member.
That was the only reason Dlarae had been patient with the ungrateful wolves, otherwise, she would have long packed and left the damn Incayon for wherever Rania and Chang Wook were.
"What’s the commotion here, Dal— oh Jihoon, I didn’t know you came. How are things in Calindra? Is there a problem? Is that why you came?" Alpha Kim asked and Dalrae resisted the urge to roll her eyes at them.
They had some nerve coming here like this when they hadn’t pushed Rania to the edge and even managed to disown their only child. This couple made Dalrae want to be a villain so bad, but she had to keep her manners for the sake of Rania.
Oh how Rania was saving the dumb bunch for a lot of things but they didn’t even know it yet.
"Hello alpha Kim, Luna Kim," Jihoon greeted and Dalrae just glared at him.
"Well, I wouldn’t want to interrupt your friendly daily gathering. If you’ll excuse me, alpha Kim. As for you Jihoon. You know your way out of Incayon, I assume.
"Make sure you don’t say for more than an hour, because then, you will be delaying my rule as the reigning alpha, and that will give me grounds to do worse, and you know it. Before you can ask, yes, Jihoon. That is a threat I plan on fulfilling. So watch your back.
"Anyway, have fun you three, the skies must really be high on opium today," Dalrae added the last bit slowly and angrily. She hated this but then she had figured that there wasn’t much that she could do about it at this point anyway.
"Pardon her attitude. It’s been a hectic two months for her without her best friend, but then we can’t harbor criminals in the name of friendship, can we?" Alpha Kim said with a laugh and Jihoon looked at the man like he was insane. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
’A criminal? Seriously?’ Jihoon asked himself as he looked at the people before him. He wasn’t sure what was right and wrong here but seeing Rania’s parents and listening to them call her a criminal made him want to defend her.
They made him want to tell them how perfect a daughter they had. Rania was crazy, but only because she always put Incayon first. It was something that everyone in the realm knew.
Messing with Incayon meant messing with Kim Rania and no sane person ever wanted to go against Rania. That was just how things were with them. But then these two were discrediting the very woman who had done more than just saved their lives.
"Is Alpha Dalrae a criminal?"
