The fact that they had also just glimpsed a terrifying corpse of a monster from ancient times also made it clearer to them that they might want to pursue more strength.

Walker and the others didn’t question the system and the reward for this portion of the quest. Everyone else knew that if Walker was able to get the fairy dragons and the other herbs and such from the spatial items left behind to proper environments, then they would be able to get a location of the time mage magic tower ruins. That would be valuable to him.

It wasn’t that they did not want to get anything like a title making them caretakers of the fairy dragon species. If they did that would garner their connection with them which could work out well over time. But if they gained a title that gave them the sole responsibility of taking care and raising them, then they would be significantly more busy and taken away from what they needed to do.

It was also why Gil was using some of the communication crystals to tell some of the echidna, elves, and others with more natural mana affinity to come through the elemental teleportation formation and meet them. These people would have better skills to work with the fairy dragons and manage their safety over a longer period of time. They would also be able to learn and grasp at the connection to elemental spirits and natural mana flow that the fairy dragons possessed in terms of the places they lived.

It would just be better to have more specialized care takers rather than the party where they were worried about larger picture events. The party could also be torn away from this for a while due to the various happenings of Genesis and more.

"There is a natural rune this way." Walker halted and felt the sudden gust of wind stopping him from moving faster. He’d felt that the wind was harder to pull at and realized it wasn’t because a monster was using the wind mana or the actual air currents changed. It was the pull of a naturally formed wind elemental rune gathering denser wind mana around it.

"Then that would be the place we head for the wind affinity fairy dragons. Alice tilted her head wondering if it was just the natural mana runes that would awaken the wind fairy dragon or if there would be more to it.

"Yes, but there is also the ice ahead and that we need to bring others to... we need to split up. And Remey, can you feel the fire mana moving a bit here and there? I bet there is still some volcano left around here, lava flowing or some sort of underground fire?" Knowing this, Walker was beginning to understand why this continent had always been so chaotic with the ancient monsters with strength beyond many others on other continents.

It was the way mana flowed here. Not only had it been shaped by these powerful ancient monsters, it had been more volatile at the very beginning.

The changes in mana altered the land and the speed that the monsters were able to grow. That one dungeon they had found had a lot of mana and was much larger with multiple connections because this land had so much mana to provide. It had more to give to whatever lived here to the point that some monsters grew more powerful and clashed.

This was still balanced though. It was a balance that came through natural selection and battles, not one that came from the calm and peaceful keeping of mana.

People would often forget that there was a balance in some chaos too. Just because the chaotic mana was violent and corrupting did not mean that naturally moving mana was any less chaotic. It was just more tame by comparison since it was bonded and moving in a natural cycle. Here, that natural flow showed the more bestial side of mana and how it clashed in natrual more consistently.

"Everyone likes to think that nature is peaceful and nice. Not so many realize that it is just as evil or violent as any person can be. It just depends on what has shaped it and where it is going." Walker sighed a bit and understood that there was even more around here. Not just the natural runes for wind, fire, or water. There was more.

He spread his mana senses and understood that every bit of mana here was like clashing tides. It was flowing and changing constantly to alter the way everything grew and developed. Ancient monsters were born and raised here because the very continent tempered them to be what they could at a much higher level than what other continents could be.

"That would be the dark mana I can hunt down, right brother?" Onyx was already curling slightly as he felt a few of the serpents he had called for moving through the shadows toward him. Eh had also brought some scouts and knew that he would have a role to play here as well.

"Yes, we are actually splitting up. I will go to the water rune and see what that ice and tundra land in the distance is like. It is better me than any of you. Alice, I know you might not want-"

"Midnight is coming with me though." Midnight had held on to Alice’s arm already sensing that she and Alice would be sticking together. They had an unspoken bond that Walker worried about. Something told him that the two could be secretly mischievous if left alone too long.

Walker also realized that the bracelets, ring, and other spatial items making the set which held the space they had gained, protecting the fairy dragon was moving of its own volition. It made him and everyone else feel that they shouldn’t be hoping for the time mage’s magic tower ruins but a space mages tower magic ruins. They might be able to see Walker develop some sort of amazing space for them to relax in while traveling instead of having to move themselves.

But that sort of comfort would breed complacency. So as the set items split up with their magical and unknown rune formation magics, Walker just nodded an affirmative before using even greater wind mana to push himself ahead. Whatever the requirements, they all had the same quests now.

Being left behind, Midnight took her full dragon form and flapped her wings. She had Alice caught and ready to fly on her back and allowed Alice to sing softly. What Alice had not shown anyone yet was that if she began to feel stronger light mana, she could sing softly to draw it toward her. This would allow for the light mana to condense and somewhat guide her to it.

It wasn’t an amazing tracking skill but it was something unique to her in the sense that she would be able to follow bits of light mana to reach a place she could better fight in. Her unique abilities were ideal within such an area. In turn, Midnight had also felt she slacked on light mana training so this was a real test of her mettle in this aspect.

The others had also gone off but Midnight and Alice didn’t glance back. They knew and trusted the others so they didn’t worry. It was better for them to take a deep breath and pursue the goals they had in front of them. Especially since they had heard Gil calling for assistance using the communication crystals. Everyone could be tracked using the small mapping orbs so when the party reached their locations more scouts and specialists would be brought. Some might even be dropped off by the flying ships if necessary.
