Chapter 63: Chapter 63:Clash with a bronze warrior

Swoosh!

Drogon split through the fireball with his curved blade, immediately turning his gaze toward the other robed figures.

"Get them!" he growled.

The acolytes sprang into action, charging toward Yasmin and Ayobe, the latter of whom immediately sank into the shadows.

Arzuk raised his great blade, slashing it toward Yasmin’s position, but a figure rose from his shadow to clash with his steel. As sparks flew, Yasmin took the opportunity to smash a shimmering blue ball of light into the ground, sending forth a small shockwave that pushed back the closing in acolytes.

Using the momentum of the blast, Ayobe whipped her hands out, slashing continuously at Arzuk. He gritted his teeth, struggling to defend against her rapid attacks then Ayobe suddenly ducked, dodging a mace that whistled past her head, and shot out her leg, slamming it into the torso of the acolyte with the mace and sending him tumbling backward.

This gave Arzuk just enough time to perform his technique. His veins bulged with dark energy, bolstering his strength as he brought down the great blade in his hands with immense force.

Swoosh!

Sighting the blow from the corner of her eye and realizing she was too late to dodge, Ayobe raised her curved blades to parry.

Clang! 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

The great blade slammed against her steel, sending a slight tremor through her arms. She immediately tilted her blades to the side just as another acolyte tried to stab her with a greenish dagger.

Plirch!

Having slipped past due to the tilt and the great force behind it, Arzuk’s blade hacked into the shoulder of the acolyte behind Ayobe. The man screamed until Ayobe plunged a dagger in and out of his skull, before she immediately slipped back into the shadows.

Arzuk growled as he drew his blade from the corpse. Feeling no remorse for his fallen comrade, he focused on his senses, waiting for Ayobe to strike again.

Boom! Boom!

Yasmin sent forth two fireballs that whooshed toward Kaelin. He dodged the attacks with his technique, causing his body to darken and phase through the flames as he closed in on Yasmin, his daggers poised to strike.

Yasmin immediately threw several seeds to the ground before leaping backward. She sent forth another shimmering blue ball, blasting an acolyte and slamming him to a tree, but Kaelin dodged it by leaping into the branches. He turned his gaze toward the ground where the seeds lay.

"I know your tricks, elf," he smirked.

"Do you?" Yasmin scoffed. She muttered an incantation and clasped her hands together as a bright, shimmering red ball of flame grew between her palms.

"Hmph." Kaelin wasn’t about to allow her to cast such a massive spell, but just as he prepared to leap forward, the tree beneath him creaked and wailed. Green sprouts and roots tore through the trunk, immediately crisscrossing and tying him to the wood.

"I thought you knew my tricks," Yasmin mocked. She unleashed a fireball the size of a yoga ball. Kaelin’s eyes widened at the encroaching flames as he regretted underestimating the she-devil.

Boom!

Drogon remained expressionless, watching how easily the two sisters had already killed two of the five. He expected as much since the one Ayobe killed was just a Tier 2 Iron Fighter, and Kaelin’s technique was merely a movement type. Still, he knew they weren’t easy pickings. That was why he chose to watch while keeping an eye out for the white-haired one.

But given the noise of the battle, he was starting to believe Iyvre wasn’t close by at all. It was better to finish off her two sisters now, which would make capturing Iyvre much easier.

He felt his scarred eye with his palm, unwilling to take the chance of the sisters teaming up on him again.

Clang! Clang!

Ayobe clashed continuously with Arzuk, slipping in and out of the shadows while dodging heavy strikes from the mace-wielder. She was focused more on slaying Arzuk, but the mace-wielder’s technique which emitted small shockwaves upon impact had already drawn her annoyed, undivided attention as it rattled her blades.

Clang!

Arzuk blocked another of Ayobe’s slashes with the flat side of his great blade. Seizing the opening, Ayobe leaped and planted her feet against the steel, kicking him backward.

She used the momentum of the kick to backflip, landing directly behind the mace-wielder and piercing his neck before he could turn to defend.

Arzuk narrowed his eyes as the last of his brethren fell. Because nearby, he saw Yasmin light the final acolyte in flame as the man writhed in pain before collapsing to the floor. Then Yasmin turned her cold gaze toward him, Arzuk stepped back.

’Damn it,’ he thought in fear. But just then, Drogon finally stepped in.

"You girls make quick work of my useless brethren. Not that I’m surprised, but I’ve gotten bored," he said, brandishing his curved blade as it glowed red. "Now, it’s time to put an end to the show."

With that, he burst forward toward Yasmin. She leaped backward, reciting an incantation that caused the remaining seeds to sprout roots to block his path, only for Drogon to slice through them effortlessly as he closed in.

Ayobe moved to charge Drogon, but Arzuk blocked her path, slashing his great blade downward and forcing her to shift aside to parry the attack.

Drogon whipped his blade horizontally, slicing through a spinning blue ball of light.

The rebound force stopped him long enough for Yasmin to send another fireball the size of a yoga ball toward him.

"Tsk." Not planning to dodge, Drogon met it head-on. His free palm bulged with veins as a wraith-like palm formed in front of him, smashing the fireball into fading flames.

Boom!

The force of the collision sent Yasmin stumbling across the ground until she slammed into a tree trun groaning only to see the wraith palm clawing towards her the the flames

Swoosh!

Just then, a red arc slammed into the spectral hand, splitting the palm in two causing Yasmin’s eyes to widen in both shock and slight relief at the figure who now stood by her side with a hardened expression.

"It’s quite ungentlemanly to bully a woman, is it not?" Rael asked, his grip tightening around his blade.
