Master of Dominion-Chapter 55: Colosape 2
Rael trudged forward through the dense treeline, while Xaphxan trailed behind him, his eyes darting cautiously from side to side.
Until they finally reached the clearing Ayobe had marked as the Colosapes territory, Rael came to a sudden halt. squinting his eyes and scanning the quiet grove, but found no sign of the beasts.
Xaphxan, however, let out a massive sigh of relief. "Ehh, Boss, it seems Lady Ayobe got it wrong after all. Too bad! It looks like we’ll just have to turn bac—"
"Shush!" Rael cut him off instantly, his heightened senses picking up a slight disturbance . He lowered his center of gravity before slowly kneeling and pressing his palm flat against the earth then he closed his eyes for a heartbeat, only to snap them open and glare toward a specific cluster of trees. He could feel a slight, rhythmic tremors vibrating through the soil, growing stronger by the second.
He quickly lunged into the thick underbrush, dragging a bewildered Xaphxan along with him. Xaphxan was about to protest until he, too, felt the ground begin to shudder beneath his feet.
"Oh, that’s a big one. Hehe," Rael chuckled, a wild grin splitting his face.
Xaphxan stared at him in sheer astonishment. ’Madman... he’s a fucking madman’, he thought, his heart hammering against his ribs as the tremors grew violent enough to reveal the first of the beasts entering the clearing.
The beast burst through the treeline, casting aside massive trunks as easily as a man might brush through tall grass. It stood seven meters tall a hulking mountain of raw muscle with a pronounced, hunched back. Its fur was a startling, pure white. Most terrifying of all were its four massive arms, thick as pillars, which swung rhythmically at its sides, all supported by short, stout legs that seemed purpose-built for explosive power.
"Holy..." Xaphxan’s voice died in his throat, his gaze pinned to the four-armed titan.
The beast’s oversized nostrils flared, sniffing the air with an aggressive, wet grunt. Suddenly, it reared up and slammed all four massive fists into the earth simultaneously.
BOOM.
The impact sent a shockwave through the clearing, rattling the teeth in Xaphxan’s head. "Shit, shit, shit..." he hissed, his voice trembling as he pressed himself flatter against the dirt.
"Calm down," Rael whispered, his eyes never leaving the white-furred titan. "It’s just a scout."
"What?!" Xaphxan’s whisper-shout cracked with pure disbelief. "Just a scout?!"
Rael scanned the four-armed Colosape from head to toe before casting the Eye of Critic. Because he wouldn’t lie the sheer height of the beast was intimidating, even to him.

"Hmm, only two weak spots," Rael murmured, loud enough for Xaphxan to overhear. He focused on the red markers revealed by his spell ,one on the ape’s spine and another on its head, which glowed with an even greater intensity.
’No wonder, the head seems comically strong,’ Rael thought.
Slowly, he reached into his magic pouch and pulled out his heavy greatsword. He certainly wasn’t going to risk his newly forged longsword against such a titan.
"Just this one will do," Rael said firmly to Xaphxan.
Xaphxan stared at him with an expression that plainly said, WHAT!?
"While I face it head-on, cast the thunderbolt spell at its head," Rael commanded, rising steadily from the underbrush but then he paused for a heartbeat, glancing back with a sharp smirk. "And oh ,try not to miss."
Xaphxan flinched, knowing full well he’d be in for a brutal whacking if he failed. He could only grumble under his breath as he began reciting the necessary incantations to cast his new spell since he hadn’t yet reached the level of mastery where he could cast the spell without the spoken words.
Rael slowly stepped out from the brush, revealing himself to the Colosape. The beast noticed him instantly, its eyes locking onto him with a furious glare.
"Hey, calm down, boy. I just need a little bit of blood just a tiny nip. You wouldn’t mind that, would you?" Rael said, his voice casual despite the titan before him. The beast replied with a menacing growl, beating its massive chest with all four fists, already poised to charge.
"I’ll take that as a no, then," Rael muttered, gripping his greatsword.
ROAR!
With a deafening cry, the Colosape charged. It used its first two arms to support its short legs, propelling its hulking frame forward with surprising speed, while its other two arms burst outward, slapping toward Rael’s position with bone-crushing force.
But Rael was already in motion. Instead of retreating, he swung the flat side of his greatsword forward, meeting the beast’s massive palm head-on.
BAM!
A huge gust of wind erupted from the point of impact, sweeping dust and dried leaves into a frenzy. Rael skidded backward, his boots carving furrows into the dirt. He felt a slight tremor vibrate through his arms, but he didn’t mind.
"Hmm, not bad," he muttered, realizing his raw strength wasn’t far off from the Colosape’s.
The Colosape clenched its fists in a blind rage. It had expected to turn the little pest into meat paste, yet there Rael stood, his sword still pointed defiantly at its chest.
With another deafening roar, the beast charged again. This time, Rael met the challenge head-on. Just as they were about to collide, he pivoted his body, dodging the beast’s hulking frame then in one fluid motion, he lashed out, slashing the greatsword toward the beast’s muscular thighs.
Plirch!
The greatsword slashed a thin red scar across the Colosape’s thigh, drawing a grunt of mingled pain and rage from the beast. With astonishing speed, it whipped its two upper arms around in a brutal strike. Rael barely had time to raise the flat side of his greatsword to intercept the blow.
BAM!
The sheer force of the impact sent Rael flying, but he used the momentum to perform a mid-air backflip, planting his feet firmly against a massive tree trunk. Using it as a foothold, he leaped high into the air just as the ape’s following fist smashed through the wood behind him, shattering the tree instantly.
High above the beast, Rael gripped his greatsword. Pouring aether into his arms as his veins bulged, he brought the blade down with a heavy, explosive force. The sword slammed into the Colosape’s back, slicing deep through the muscle until it reached the spine.
ROAR!
The Colosape screamed in agony, violently slamming its massive body through the surrounding trees in a desperate attempt to dislodge Rael from its back. But as it thrashed, a sudden, blinding blue light erupted from the underbrush.
A piercing shriek tore through the air, drawing the attention of both the beast and Rael just as a thunderbolt flashed across the clearing.
The bolt struck the Colosape’s head with unerring precision. And like a watermelon hit by a sledgehammer
POP.
The Colosape’s head simply vanished, burst open into a gruesome mist of blood and flying chunks of flesh. The titan’s headless body went limp, collapsing heavily onto the forest floor with a dull thud. Both Rael and the caster, Xaphxan, stood frozen ,both shell-shocked by the sheer devastation of the spell.
