Chapter 84 - 84 : Wanda Wants to Have a Child

The messy library, with damaged ancient books piled up like a mountain, would leave any disciple stunned upon entering.

Whoosh!

"Recovery technique."

With a push of Finn's hands, a bright white light illuminated the entire library. Mysterious incantations emerged, filling the surrounding space. Destroyed bookshelves and scattered ancient tomes bathed in the glow, gradually restoring themselves at a speed visible to the naked eye until they were completely intact.

Seeing the books returned to their pristine state, Wanda's eyes widened in amazement. "Finn, your magic is seriously impressive!"

She remembered Finn mentioning his extraordinary abilities before, but this guy seemed to master a new trick every time he just glanced at something.

"I just pay attention." Finn stretched, the glow from the restored lightbulb casting a warm hue on his face. "Witch, you should focus on mastering the Darkhold first."

After all, their recent battle against the other Wanda had shown that she was at a severe disadvantage. That version of Wanda from another universe was clearly on a whole different level, wielding the full power of the Darkhold.

"I'm working hard, okay? I practice every day." Wanda muttered, though she took his words seriously.

Thinking back to the fight with her multiversal counterpart, the realization stung—her other self had dominated the battle completely. The gap between them was insurmountable. And worse, she couldn't shake the nagging worry that Finn might be taken from her.

"What's wrong? You look a little off," Finn asked gently, noticing her distracted expression.

"Nothing... just thinking about how that fake hugged you earlier," Wanda said, her voice tinged with jealousy.

"You can't blame me for that! She grabbed me first, and you arrived just when I was about to push her away." Finn sighed, half exasperated, half amused.

"Finn, we will never be apart." Wanda's voice was soft, slightly hoarse, as she collapsed against him like a sloth clinging to a tree.

"Mhm." Finn didn't say much, just ran a hand through her hair. Some things didn't need words—only actions.

"It's almost noon, I'm starving! Does anyone want food?" A familiar voice rang out from the corridor outside.

Finn and Wanda exchanged glances. "Let's go, I'm hungry too."

"Good."

Before leaving, Wanda glanced back one last time, ensuring the library was fully restored. She knew how particular Stephen Strange was. If he found out his library had nearly been destroyed, he'd probably hunt Finn down.

As they stepped outside, they found Peter Parker leaning against the corridor wall. He had shed his suit and was dressed casually in a long-sleeved shirt.

"Peter, I thought all spiders hunted for their own food." Finn teased.

"I wish," Peter sighed. "But I lost my backpack this morning, and now I have no money for takeout."

Peter spread his hands in exasperation. Being a teenager without a bank account meant he couldn't even order food online.

Finn smirked. "Unlucky kid. You should keep a spare downstairs."

He knew Peter had a bad habit of losing his bag—mostly because he had to ditch it mid-battle.

They descended into the underground sanctum, where the atmosphere was cold and dark. A rhythmic snoring echoed through the space.

"It's lunchtime. What do you guys want to eat?" Finn called out.

"Pizza! I want to try a multiversal pizza—see how it compares to ours." Eddie Brock perked up at the mention of food.

"Chocolate. Or maybe a head and liver or something. That lizard looks good," Venom's grating voice echoed in Eddie's head.

"I didn't know humans could crossbreed rice with lizards," Venom mused aloud.

"Shut up, Venom," Eddie muttered.

Finn chuckled. He knew what it was like dealing with an unwanted companion inside your head.

Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin, remained quiet, lost in thought. Ever since his capture, he had been grappling with the reality that this was another universe—one different from his own. A scientist's nightmare, really. He couldn't go back. That meant he was stuck here, forever.

"What about you?" Finn asked the others.

"I'll eat whatever you eat. I'm not picky," Dr. Curt Connors, the Lizard, said indifferently.

"To be honest, I never expected to meet a dinosaur," Peter said, grinning. "You're way better-looking than I imagined. And at least you're not picky."

"Watch your mouth, kid... or—" Dr. Connors narrowed his reptilian eyes, nostrils flaring.

"Peter, shut up." Finn sighed, tugging Peter back before he got himself into trouble.

"Before I arrived in this universe, I knew another Peter," Connors mused suddenly.

Peter's interest piqued instantly. "Wait, you mean another me? A different Spider-Man?"

"Yes."

"What was he like? Could he swing? Did he wear pajamas? You know, people used to call me Pajama Boy! But it doesn't matter, now they call me Spider-Man!"

Connors pinched the bridge of his nose. "You talk too much."

Finn shook his head. "No wonder the villains can't stand you."

"Young people have energy. I think Peter's great," Wanda interjected. "In fact, I'd want our kids to be like Peter."

Finn smirked and tilted her chin up. "Witch, are you already thinking about married and sex life?"

"Shut up and order food, I'm starving," Wanda huffed, her cheeks red.

After placing the order, the group settled in. Wanda absentmindedly traced the ancient spells carved into the stone walls, lost in thought. Peter continued bombarding Dr. Connors with questions, while Eddie occasionally interjected. Even the normally composed scientist was beginning to show signs of frustration.

Finn leaned back, watching them. If Green Goblin and Dr. Lizard were here, then the arrival of the first and second-generation Spider-Men was inevitable.

Thinking about the mess that was about to unfold, he barely noticed when the food arrived.

As everyone dug in, Finn tossed Eddie an extra bag of chocolates. He knew better than to let Venom get too hungry—unless he wanted Eddie to wake up missing half his brain.

"Finn, what is this?"

Wanda looked at the white, sticky food on the plate and frowned.

"You guessed it. It's sweet," Finn replied, using a spoon to stir the food into long, sticky strands with a mischievous smile.

"Finn, I swear I'll bite you to death! This was supposed to be good food, and you made it look so weird!"

Seeing the teasing smile on Finn's face, Wanda immediately blushed, memories of their past interactions flashing through her mind.

"Witch, where is your mind wandering now? You're thinking about something else again, aren't you?"

Finn chuckled, watching her flustered reaction. He had no choice but to spread his hands in surrender and point at the dish in front of them. "This is lotus root starch. It's actually low in sugar and really good for you, especially for women. But it usually needs to be mixed with hot water before eating."

"Hmph, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be thinking like this! You're corrupting my thoughts!"

Wanda touched her hot earlobe, feeling both embarrassed and annoyed.

The Sanctum Sanctorum - First Floor

After lunch, there was a sense of satisfaction on everyone's faces. The sunlight streamed through the window, its golden glow casting a warmth over the room. The atmosphere felt almost magical, making their eyelids grow heavy with drowsiness. Birds chirped outside, and a gentle breeze brushed against their skin.

It was the perfect time for a nap.

"Well, we ate and drank enough. Time to sleep," Finn announced with a smirk.

He took Wanda's soft hand in his and led her toward the lounge. The Sanctum had a designated rest area, complete with a bathroom and all the necessary amenities. Stephen Strange practically lived here most of the year, and if the Sanctum lacked proper facilities, he'd have to open a portal just to find a restroom. The thought of a powerful sorcerer having to teleport just to use the bathroom was... amusing.

"Finn, you just ate. Don't you plan on digesting it first?" Wanda asked, rubbing her stomach.

"Digestion, huh? And how exactly do you suggest we do that?" Finn turned toward her, his handsome face leaning in, his lips curling into a smirk. "There are many ways to digest a meal..."

"Go to hell! Why are you always thinking like that?!"

Wanda bared her teeth in frustration and bit down hard on Finn's hand.

But in the next second, a strong hand caught her chin, tilting it upward. In a swift movement, Finn lifted her effortlessly, pressing her back against the wall.

"Huh?"

Before Wanda could react, his lips were already on hers.

Their breath mingled. The kiss was deep, lingering, and utterly consuming. Wanda's eyes widened in shock, but soon, she found herself melting into it. The warmth of his lips, the way his hand cupped her jaw—it was impossible to resist.

By the time they finally broke apart, her lips were pink and glistening.

"Damn..."

Wanda touched her lips, running her tongue over them absentmindedly.

"Witch, do you have any idea how much you tempt me?" Finn muttered, his voice low and rough.

"Get away from me!"

(#¯¯¯~¯¯¯#)

Wanda tried to sound stern, but her voice came out weak, almost like a plea. Instead of pushing him away, it only made Finn want to pull her closer.

"Nope. You're too tempting, and I'm sticking to you forever," Finn teased, lifting her into his arms and carrying her into the lounge.

She didn't resist. After all, she had spent the entire night on a train and was utterly exhausted. With Finn's warmth surrounding her, she soon drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Afternoon - Interrupted Rest

A loud knock on the door shattered the tranquility.

Finn was the first to wake up. He glanced at Wanda, still sleeping soundly beside him, before sighing. Carefully, he slipped out of bed, put on his shoes, and opened the door.

Peter Parker stood there, looking excited but urgent.

"Finn! I found something big. The magic compass has moved!"

Peter's voice wasn't particularly loud, but it was enough to travel into the room.

Wanda stirred, blinking sleepily. "Hmm...? What's going on?" she yawned, rubbing her eyes and walking toward Finn.

"Wanda, the magic compass has moved!" Peter repeated, barely able to contain his excitement.

"Take us to see it," Wanda said, instantly more alert.

The three of them hurried downstairs to the underground hall. The air buzzed with an almost imperceptible hum, a low vibration that resonated through the space. Even from the dark passageway, they could sense something unusual.

"Look at this."

Peter pointed toward the table at the center of the hall.

A soft, eerie glow emanated from the magical compass, its needle vibrating slightly but consistently pointing in one direction.

"The compass is reacting," Finn muttered, recalling what Stephen had told him. "It means reality is fluctuating."

In other words, someone had entered their universe.

"The compass never moves unless an outsider from the multiverse appears," Wanda said, frowning. "If they're dangerous and we don't handle it fast, it could spiral out of control."

At that moment, a voice called out from behind bars.

"Finn, let me out. I can help."

Eddie Brock, who had been imprisoned earlier, couldn't hold back anymore.

"Eddie, you're staying put. I can't let you out."

"Why not? Don't you trust us?"

"No, it's not about trust. If you get involved, things could escalate in ways we can't predict. It's safer if you stay here."

Finn ignored Eddie's protests and turned back to the compass.

Then, his eyes landed on something else—a figure, still unmoving.

"Has he been sleeping this whole time?" he murmured.

"Well, if he weren't breathing—" Peter made a throat-slitting gesture. "I'd have thought he was dead."

"Enough with the nonsense. Let's go," Wanda urged.

The three of them followed the compass's direction to an abandoned area on the outskirts of New York. There were no people, no shops—just an old railway track cutting through the woods, flanked by tall electric poles.

"The needle stopped moving," Finn observed.

"I'll take a look around."

Peter pulled his hood over his head and shot a web to the nearest pole, swinging across the area. His sharp eyes scanned the surroundings, but there was nothing suspicious.

"Nothing out of the ordinary, Finn," he reported.

Finn frowned, staring at the compass. "Could Stephen's spell be off?" Wanda wondered.

"I doubt it. His spells are always precise. Maybe we're just missing something..."

Then Finn's gaze landed on a pile of sand and rocks. It was oddly placed.

A villain came to mind.

Before he could react, Peter's Spider-Sense flared too late.

BOOM!

A massive surge of electricity exploded from one of the poles, sending Peter crashing to the ground.

Lightning crackled violently, forming into the shape of a man.

Finn's eyes narrowed.

He recognized him immediately.
